"Citicorp 1845 had good reviews which is why I chose it.. went there with friends on 12/27 for dinner with friends. I felt fortunate to have called for reservations since there were a lot of people out and about in little Italy who were turned away. The hostess had put 3 table together and was very friendly. We sat at the table and had to wave at another waiter to find out who was assigned table, it was Manuel… he came up as the other guy was taking our drink order. After that, we didn’t see him unless we looked around and caught his eye. As for the food, the meatballs were dry and unimpressive. The wine which was a Montepulciano, was so good, we had 2 bottles. I ordered another entree since we didn’t have enough food and it never came. I had to get up, walk around, find Manuel and let him know to cancel it if it was ever going to come out, and to bring my check… it was VERY ANNOYING.. yes, the place was busy, but when it emptied out, he always still invisible. I couldn’t see a Manager. There was nothing…. This place has earned a place on my sh!t list for crappy service."

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Food was delicious. The warm bread and pesto was a nice way to start our meal. We had the parpadelle and it was perfect.

It was good but nothing special. I'm an east coast Italian and expected more flavorful dishes from a restaurant located in Little Italy. Our meals were good but nothing that wowed us.

Outstanding all the way around! The food was superior, and the service was impeccable !! Took my daughter here for her birthday lunch and they treated her like a queen right down to putting her favourite music on during our lunch.

Excellent food and service. The portion sizes are huge and with a very nice presentation. We were traveling from out of town, so it was a nice stop. Heads-up, parking in Little Italy can be tricky but we found a spot after circling the block a few times. View menu

Our first stop from a drive down from LA is always Civico 1845! We usually get there when it opens so it's a perfect relief from the drive. Great lunch menu and a nice glass of wine. Highly recommend a visit here in Old Italy whenever you can if in San Diego!

Good place for a range of eaters. We had vegans and vegetarians with our party and they were able to get a good meal here with an entire vegan section. The vegan lasagna they said was the best they ever had. Also ate the zucchini flowers for starter and the Pappardelle with short rib for dinner. The zucchini was excellent. Very good. Pappardelle was as a bit disappointing way too little pasta and too much sauce. Orange wine was also very good!

We were there Superbowl Sunday and, counterintuitively, the place, in the wonderful Little Italy neighborhood, was packed with appreciative diners. The menus are imaginative, the exceution excellent, and the service and atmosphere outstanding. I had the seared salmon with pesto risotto and lemon zabaione sauce, a new composition for me and out of this world. This dish would be a perfect main course in any location. All in all, a memorable experience. View menu

We had a most wonderful meal at this excellent restaurant. Our three appetizers were delicious. Three of us loved our main dishes, but my husband did not like his. When we told the waiter, he got the manager who immediately asked what we wanted instead. We chose another dish, which she brought shortly afterwards. She was exceptionally pleasant and even brought us cannolis for dessert. We could not have asked for a tastier meal or a more delightful atmosphere.

The food and drink was good, it just wasn’t $50/person good. I got the rigatoni pasta and the Italian sour. It should at least come with some kind of meat for $26. It was enough to be filling at least. No complaints about the drink. About what to expect as far as price for a fancy cocktail in little Italy, downtown, gas lamp, etc., and it was perfect for my tastes. The waitress was polite, but I kind of felt like I was in the way. The employees are too social to their friends and not attentive enough to other customers. Also, put something on the TV that people can look at. They had a documentary about a women’s volleyball team (with no subtitles) followed by dead air.

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
