"We usually go to NYAJ during a shopping trip. The food is always consistently good and reasonably priced. The only problem we've had the last two times we were there was waiting longer than usual to have our order taken and then waiting again prior to getting our drinks. It would be understood if they were very busy but neither time were they even close to being filled. That being said, it won't stop us from going there again when it's convenient. As far as what we ordered, we got their pizza and bottle of wine special. The pizza was prepared just as we asked and was very good. The wine isn't the best but is what I would call a decent table wine to drink with food."

"2023 UPDATE This place literally NEVER fails, and its still just as amazing as it always is. We ordered to go, they had 3 huge DELICIOUS dinners (bread butter) done in 15 minutes... I love me some 100 South Go eat inside... Go eat outside... Order take out... Just do it, you want to give them your money, lol, and you WILL NOT be disappointed in the slightest. Prices are a bit high, but not in terms of worth, just in terms of numbers... For what you get, its SOOO worth it!!! Plates are gigantic usually enough leftovers for a second meal, food is super flavorful, and service is top notch!!! The thing I love most about this place is that they have found a way to be classy and upscale, but also feel like your at home with family... Its so freaking awesome!!! In the very off chance you aren 't happy, they make it right, no questions asked... They want you satisfied when you walk out their doors. In the late evening, when we like to go, there 's usually some people, including staff, hanging out, laughing, talking, etc, but it never interferes with the quality of anything or the service... If anything, it makes you feel like you want to be included in this fun, fancy club of theirs, lol I have heard some more personal stories by word of mouth and the internet... I 'll just say these are my kind of people!!! I feel like I understand them, I 've been there, I KNOW they 've worked hard, and I TRUELY value their outlook on friends, family, and loyalty. This place is freaking amazing, and so are the people... Trust me, you want to go here!!! Parking: They are located right across from the train station in uptown Elmhurst, and therefore, it can be difficult to find CLOSE parking sometimes, as they have no lot. That being said, there are a TON of free and paid options. Uptown Elmhurst has no shortage of parking garages, they are EVERYWHERE. There are also, at least 1, but I 'm thinking 2 handicap spots right near the front. Kid friendliness: Although they are upscale, they also very much value family. As a mother, I have taken my kid here from the time she was a toddler, all the way to now that she 's 10. As a reasonable person, I just personally wouldn 't go if you know your kid throws tantrums or can 't sit still... Just out of respect for others, because this is more if a fine dining experience and atmosphere."

"The entrees we had were herb encrusted haddock, bbq meatloaf, mustard chicken and chicken piccata. They were all very good but the mashed potatoes and spinach were salty as was the gravy in the meatloaf entree. The service was fine Marlo, our waitress was really great. She brought me the sautéed spinach when I realized my meal came with broccoli, which I can’t have. We liked the 2 different price options for the wine selections. Overall, it was a nice meal, nice atmosphere and an enjoyable time with friends."

"City Grill was one of our favorite dining spots until last weekend. I agree with another reviewer 's comments that something has changed. Menu is different (and the wonderful wedge is gone! We started with a drink at bar bartender was very personable and did a great job. We checked in with hostess who took us to our outside table, as requested several weeks prior when reservation was made. She told us we 'd have to take a high top (despite several open tables for our party of 4 and you can 't have that one cause its reserved for owner . And then she said snottily outside seating isn 't even guaranteed . Server came over no energy, no personality, acted like she was working in a diner and just trying to flip as many tables as possible. We placed our orders, appetizers, salad and dinners. Salad arrived with our dinner instead of before, so someone screwed up. My husband ordered steak special, no fries and sauteed spinach. No spinach arrived but lots of fries did! My salmon was excellent and cooked perfectly. Will we return again no. Service used to be top notch, servers were interactive, helped make choices and had a personality not anymore! Outside music was super loud that should be saved until after the dinner hours. Someone 2 tables down from us was smoking. My husband and I agreed that there is a different vibe at City Grill and we both give it 10 12 months before they are reinventing themselves. There are so many amazing restaurants in Rochester....don 't waste your time or money here!"

"We had our friends in from out of town. We ordered drinks that took minutes to receive and minutes before we were able to order our meal due to our waitress being MIA. I spoke with the manager and he advised there were two large parties so they were behind. Totally understandable, however, it didn’t seem like our waitress was hosting the other tables and completely ignored us the entire night. Our friend wanted another drink and finally went to the bar as she would not come back to check on us. When she came back to our table, she confronted him about how he went to the bar. There was nothing else to say except she never came back to ask if we needed anything else. We finally received a new waiter and he was much more hospitable and apologetic. I think she told him she wasn’t going to wait on us after that. The meal was comped and the second waiter made up for the waitress we initially had. I just have never had such poor service in my life and our friends were equally just as shocked"

"We 7 ladies had a very nice waiter who was pleasant and accommodating. 5 ladies enjoyed their various selections, but myself and another lady had the chicken piccata, which was very salty. There were way too many capers and no hint of lemon at all. Neither of us could finish our plate due to the excessive last. Lastly, we were seated at the only table large enough to fit our group, and it was so sticky (tacky) that men use literally had to be peeled off the surface. We were told the varnish has been literally wiped off with the constant cleaning. Perhaps if this is the case, a table cover or place mat could help…or just fix the issue. Overall, I would give them a good rating…just correct the table issue, and use less salt in food. It can’t be removed, but can always be added!"

"I would rate this restaurant zero stars if I could. My husband and I were visiting Chattanooga for a Valentine’s weekend getaway and had the misfortune of visiting for our last dinner in town. We had reservations, but still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. The restaurant itself was very loud and felt like a chain. We ordered chips and dip as an appetizer. For our entrees, my husband ordered a burger, and I ordered nachos. We waited for 45 minutes just to get the appetizer, which is clearly a premade item. We were seated by the kitchen so I was able to watch our entrees sit for 15+ minutes before they were brought to our table. My husband’s burger was dressed incorrectly and literally raw in the middle. My nachos were also incorrect and soggy. The manager was very nice and comped our food, but it was still such a poor overall experience. Do not recommend."

"Dinner with great friends at a booth in the bar. Great bartender and good drinks. Had to ask if we had a server after a LONG wait. Mediocre food for me....patty melt was sad unseasoned patties between soggy bread with green beans that were undercooked and again unseasoned and did not have the ends cut off. Never saw our server again after ordering. Thank you bartender....would have been a disaster without you. We've eaten there about once or twice a year for years...will we come back, sure, but hopefully things will be better"

"Driving from Austin I needed to pick up a few things from my mom who was driving up from Houston. We decided La Grange would be a great spot right off 71 to cut our drive in half.With everything going on I pushed to try something local and Bistro 108 didn't disappoint. We were greeted immediately and the service throughout our lunch was great. The soup of the day and both pasta entrees exceeded expectations. If you are ever are in the area please stop in and give this venue a try. Look forward to stopping in again on one of our drives to Houston. Cheers"

"We were first brought some delicious sautéed green peppers and warm bread. However, we had to request silverware and napkins, as there were none on our table. As for the food, the beet salad was quite good, but the fried calamari was too chewy. The broccoli rabe was excellent, though the Brussels sprouts were well-cooked but had too much balsamic glaze for my taste. The biggest letdown was my 14 oz Angus New York strip steak, which was so tough that I struggled to enjoy it; I only managed to eat half. Overall, the experience was not memorable, and sadly, we won't be returning. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food Rating: 2/5 Service Rating: 3/5 Atmosphere Rating: 3/5"

"The service was excellent and the food was delicious. It would have been a fantastic evening if it hadn't been so incredibly warm inside. It seemed like the air conditioning was not functioning at all. They did provide a fan, but it was actually cooler outside. Everyone was fanning themselves and wiping sweat from their foreheads. They definitely need to get the air conditioning repaired."

"Probably the best fish chips I’ve had. The fish was one large filet fried in a nice crispy batter served hot with fries and coleslaw and really good tartar sauce. The service was excellent. Ok, the bad. I think we we’re way over charged. The dinner was $15. The bill that came to us was $45. Two $15 dinners and one iced tea and a club soda with lime, $45? What’s wrong here? I brought it to the attention the wait staff and they told me they automatically add 18% gratuity. I have no problem with that because I tip 20%. 18% is $5.76. That leaves us with a grand total of $35.76. Where did the extra $10 come from? $10 for an iced tea and a club soda with lime? The bartender shrugged his shoulders and said this happens a lot and apologized but left the bill at $45. I felt sorry for the waitress so I added $5 for her and walked out spending $50. Sooooo we won’t be back even though it’s probably the best fish chips I’ve had."

"I was really looking forward to dining at this restaurant because the atmosphere and decor seemed so trendy and modern. We began with the Tuna Tartare, which was mushy and clearly not fresh. I figured I couldn’t go wrong with a burger, a classic staple, but to my astonishment, the $20 burger was even worse than something you'd get at a fast-food place. Overall, the quality of the food did not live up to the appealing interior or the prices. It was a huge disappointment."

"The Ribs, Chicken wings and fries were very good. The oyster Po'boy was very disappointing lacked seasoning and flavour the batter was not crispy. The Po'boy was a real let down as the rest of the food was very good as were the cocktails, it is really not hard to make a good Po'boy. We sat outside which was fine but not a lot of atmosphere. The Service was good, efficient and functional but nothing more. Should have been asked if we need more drinks during the meal which weren't. Potential to be really good but let down by a couple of things that really are not hard to fix."

"We were disappointed with the experience, but we suspect the evening was hampered by holiday parties keeping the kitchen and bar distracted. We ordered three cocktails, and had to send one back because it was missing an ingredient. Overall, not a lot of flavor in the drinks, which was very disappointing at the high price point. We orders the deviled eggs, which were pretty, but the caviar egg lacked flavor. We had the redfish (needed a sauce? and the steak frites, which was good, but not amazing as the price would imply. We suspect this is better outside of the holiday season, but with so many other restaurants in the area to try, we don’t see returning back to this one."

"I came here for brunch because I had heard some good things about this place. But honestly the food was tasteless. The chiken i got came with bell peppers and onions. But you can tell its quite old. They didn't prepare anything from scratch. The beans and rice are made in bulk for the whole day, which is understandable. But the chicken could have been cooked to order. The veggies lose there crunch and the texture is weird. I asked for salt and pepper and she brought me a salt shaker that had the holes clogged. So the salt can't come out. She seen me and didn't even offer to bring me a different one. I almost felt like a was a burden to her. Does she not know that she works for tips. She has to earn the tip. Its not a given. I usually tip 10 percent regarless of how horrible the service was and from there I go up according to how my service went. I tip 40% quite a bit. But unfortunately not today. I will give it another try and come for dinner. Maybe that will be bettered prepared."

"We were celebrating with a work colleague total in the group was 8. Our server was nice and accurate in taking our orders. We arrived at 12:30pm so it was just after the start of lunch rush which I believe contributed to the quicker service for a large party. Our server also was kind enough to provide us with separate checks for everyone in attendance which made it much easier for us. Overall, I recommend dining here for lunch or with a group. The 5th Avenue Theatre is also right across the street which makes it a great location if you are looking for dinner before attending a show."

"My wife and I live in Southampton and go to Red Bar every year around this time, per her request, to celebrate her birthday. We have been doing this every year for about 20 years now and it never gets old. The food is always creative and delicious, the service top notch, and the ambiance low key romantic. This has attracted us to this place since it opened. We prefer dining there during the week when the room is a little less noisy, but otherwise a great place for a special occasion."
