"Bleu dropped the ball this time. We normally enjoy Bleu but this time we ran into a few things that could have been better They would not allow any substitutions on this visit, claiming they were too busy with large crowds. We were seated in the main dining room and there were four completely empty tables available when we left about I suspect there were other tables available as well We ordered an appetizer which arrived just minutes before the main course There was no liquor list, only a wine list. The bar was out of some of their normal brands When our entrees arrived each serving had the appearance of a pre fixe menu dish. Some of the portions were very small when compared to the price and could have been hotter This visit was a disappointment compared to previous visits. I hope this was an exception rather than a trend. We will try Bleu one more time. I hope it will not be our last"

"The Park Chalet is a pretty nice place to enjoy a parents date night meal. They have a nice selection of beers for different palates and the food was mostly good. The noise level was not too loud and the view into the park was nice. Also having a glass room helps to let in lots of natural sunlight and make things brighter. My wife and I started with the poke which was very well seasoned and marinated. She also had the fish tacos which she enjoyed very much. I had the fish and chips for dinner. The important thing is to eat it while it was hot. After the fish cools down a bit, the batter was no longer crispy and became a bit heavy and soggy. For dessert, we had the cheesecake in a jar. Very nicely done and the cheesecake part was not heavy at all. It could have used more fruit other than the 4 blueberries and 1 cut strawberry though. For those with a shellfish allergies, I wish the kitchen had more than one fryer. My wife wanted to have the fish and chips also, but because the same fryer is used for all the fried items, including shellfish, she had to skip that as she did not want to have an allergic reaction. Overall, it is a nice place to hang out and enjoy a meal and enjoy a parents date night while the kids are at home with the grandparents!"

"This was one of the finest meals I've ever had. The rack of lamb with blackberry sauce was outstanding—truly the best I've tasted, even compared to Michelin-starred restaurants. The pâté was smooth and savory, and we absolutely loved it. The dessert was light and sweet, just perfect. The escargot was also quite good. The service was laid-back yet attentive. If you're looking for a quick dining experience, this might not be the right place for you. However, if you want to savor each bite without feeling rushed and enjoy great conversation, this is exactly what we were hoping for."

"We have been coming to Cañonita for over 15 years and the food, drink and service are always amazing. One of the best parts of the experience is sitting next to the canal to see and hear the gondolier sing while rowing. I requested a table next to the canal when I made reservations through Open Table a month earlier. When we got there the hostess tried to seat us indoor near the bar and I told her we had requested a table by the canal. She told me there were no tables available and I showed her a table that had just been cleared. The hostess checked and told us we could have the table but the waiter was not ready for five minutes and instructed us to wait at the bar 10 feet away from the hostess station and they would get us in five minutes. Five minutes passed then 15 and we then realized that she had seated another couple that came in after us at our table. She then tried to seat us at a tiny little table near the bar barely big enough for drinks. I told her no that we come to this restaurant to have the experience of sitting next to the canal and showed her again that a table was empty next to the canal. Finally 10 minutes later they moved us to the table that we had requested a month earlier. Our waiter Alex was amazing and saved the night from the bad attitude of the hostess."

"DW/CG visited Grillsmith for the first time. We had a dinner reservation and were seated right away upon arrival. It was a busy Friday evening but we had no trouble. The server was friendly and attentive even though he was new. We ordered a salmon entree and a BBQ ribs entree. We had a bruschetta appetizer to start with. The brushetta was brought out right away. It had four small pieces. It was super delicious and fresh. We were just sad that the portion was so small. Twice as much would have been appropriate (listen up folks! . DW had the salmon entree. This had to be the VERY best grilled salmon I've ever had and I've had plenty. There was a carmelized, crispy glaze on the outside and the inside was tender and fully cooked. CG said the BBQ ribs were amazing, they fell right off the bone. We paid just about the same price maybe a bit more for this meal as we paid for another seafood dinner at a nearby restaurant the week before. This Grillsmith dinner was by far superior quality and taste. We figured this actually made it a good value for our money. Eagerly looking forward to our next visit."

"The Beach Chalet offers stunning ocean views, but the Park Chalet located downstairs features a lovely garden patio where you can enjoy food and drinks with friends, children, and even pets. "We ate here this evening for the first time based on a recommendation. The only server was rude, condescending, and completely ruined our much anticipated dining experience. One of tonight's fish options was snapper which did come with a very nice presentation. My wife did not care for the lemon thyme presentation but others were satisfied. This server did not offer any refreshing of our drinks nor did she check on us at any point throughout the meal. She acted put off and as if she wanted to be elsewhere. Our meal with a glass of wine was about $50 per person. We left very disappointed and have no desire to return. It was a two thumbs down for our group."

"Our waiter, Santos was excellent but as hard as he tried to make the ambiance pleasant he could not. Right next to us was a group of six or seven fairly young blue collar girls who thought they were at a bar. My wife and I had trouble trying to hold a conversation at our table. Their vocabulary was very limited. Every other word was profanity. We could not be moved to another table because the restaurant was at capacity."

"The best fish in all of Sarasota! We have tried them all Shore, Owens Fish Camp, Walt's, Crab Fin, Marina Jack, etc and those are all good but there is no comparison with Off the Hook, especially if you want super fresh locally caught fish. We had red snapper and halibut. Both were cooked absolutely perfectly and tasted amazing. We tried two of the many different preparations available and could not decide which we liked best. The crab cakes were excellent and the salads also very good. The wine list is brief but had many nice varieties on offer at very reasonable prices Wesley took very good care for us and made us feel like we were dining with friends. This place is a little hard to find, but worth the effort. You will be glad you did!"

"Overall, the experience was disappointing. While the grounds were lovely, the service left much to be desired. It took around 20 minutes for us to receive our first drink after being seated, and that was likely only because I was actively watching the server. Our starter, the burrata beet salad, consisted mostly of beets, making it unremarkable, and our main dishes took another 40 minutes to arrive—definitely not worth the wait. The restaurant wasn't busy, and it seemed like there was only one server on duty; at one point, the bartender even disappeared. The mosquitoes were relentless, and it got dark very quickly, making it difficult to see my dining companion and meal. We had high hopes for the evening, but it ultimately fell flat. By the end, we were eager to receive the check. I believe the location has potential, but it needs significant improvements."
