"The best fish in all of Sarasota! We have tried them all Shore, Owens Fish Camp, Walt's, Crab Fin, Marina Jack, etc and those are all good but there is no comparison with Off the Hook, especially if you want super fresh locally caught fish. We had red snapper and halibut. Both were cooked absolutely perfectly and tasted amazing. We tried two of the many different preparations available and could not decide which we liked best. The crab cakes were excellent and the salads also very good. The wine list is brief but had many nice varieties on offer at very reasonable prices Wesley took very good care for us and made us feel like we were dining with friends. This place is a little hard to find, but worth the effort. You will be glad you did!"

Off the Hook is in a new, smaller location but the tastes are as big as ever! On a recent visit we enjoyed cashew crusted halibut with soba noodles in coconut curry sauce and salmon Mediterranean with risotto and asparagus. Both were excellent, perfectly cooked and eminently flavorful. If you have room for dessert, don't miss their delicious bread pudding!

While the fish was delicious, the ambiance left much to be desired, and the service was just average. Additionally, they had run out of all desserts by 7:15 PM. We were also charged a 4% convenience fee, even though Visa typically charges only 2.5%. This place has great potential to be truly excellent, but they need to work on enhancing the atmosphere, service, and availability of their menu options. View menu

use them to be one of our favorite restaurants in sarasota. this is our 2nd time in the new smaller location and while the people are great the selection of fish was really easy and they did not have the favorites of my wife (bread pudding) that used to be amazing. they said supply chain problems with hurricane and understand, but just from the water in florida and have cod, amberjack and grouper as options is terrible weak. when we left my wife, there were so many other options that she wanted to take from the list of options for the future. I sincerely hope that the owners will bring it together because the traffic was not present and we know that they have the ability to make great food.

WOW! Don't be disappointed when you drive up and it looks like a hole in the wall. This place is GREAT! Reasonably priced wine list with nice choices; Gazpacho and fried calamari appetizers were a delicious prelude to the amazing entrees. The fish availability is limited to their catch of the day: the night we went there were only three types of fish, but they offer about a dozen different ways to prepare it for you. Four of us each tried a different preparation, and everyone raved. Save room for a generous portion of homemade bread pudding.
