"We brought four kids ranging from 16 to 9 years old to this restaurant and had the best steak ever. We have dined at seven nice restaurants this week, all likely with double the bill compared to this restaurant, and none of them did as great a job as this place. Everyone enjoyed the meal, although it may not be the cleanest place, similar to many Asian restaurants. If you're looking for something different and fun, this place is the perfect choice. The kids loved it and I'm sure they would ask to go back if we had tried it sooner. Give it a try and have fun because life is short!"

"I have been a regular customer to Gyu-Kaku in Kapolei. I have to say that this was the worst experience that we have ever had. The host was very professional. We arrived a littler earlier than our reservation so we knew we had to wait. We were fine with that. Once seated everything was going great. Then I found a piece of metal in my lava flow. Our server just disappeared and barely came around. We were only able to put in two meat orders (we were doing the AYCE premium 60). We didn’t get any refills for water or for our fountain drinks. Our grills was never changed. It was black and smoking but no one came to change it. The only reason we did the Premium 60 option was for the cheese wontons but we were only told after food started getting to the table that they were out of cheese wontons. We left after the second round of meats as we just lost our appetite."

"Staff was VERY friendly accommodating! They were wiping down and sanitizing tablesbooths between parties making me feel safe to dine there. Their AYCE lunch menu is per person, which is one of the lowest prices I’ve seen for an AYCE place. Food selection for their lunch menu had a wide enough range for my husband and not to get tired of the flavors. The different marinades they had for the meats were delicious! The Miso Hanger Steak, Kobe Style Nakaochi Ribs, Buta Yaki, YakiShabu Beef Pork Belly were our favorite meats ordered rounds of each. And we loved the vegetables"

"I probably will no longer order from Gyu-Kaku. Today I ordered a doordash order like usual, this establishment messed up and gave the driver the incorrect order. When I called , although they were apologetic, they offered no real solution. They told me to spend more money by purchasing a soda so they can remake my food, that they originally messed up on, and have it delivered. They refused to deliver and they refused to contact DoorDash themself to have them refire it. When I asked to talk to management, I was told no because the manager will say the same thing I was told. I am totally turned off by this establishment because of the way at they chose to not fix the situation that they caused. I ended up having to contact doordash myself, receive a credit and reorder it again to end up waiting another hour. Other places have better customer service."

"The second issue was the value of the food. I believe in the saying "you get what you pay for," but I found everything on the menu to be overpriced and served à la carte. I was shocked when my $70 lamb chops arrived as just four small bones. I left feeling quite hungry. The sides we ordered were mediocre at best and there were limited choices. My third strike came when I ordered two shots of Hennessy, only to receive them mixed with water. If I wanted watered-down $40 shots, I would have gone elsewhere. The only redeeming quality of this restaurant was the music selection."

"I would probably give this place a rating of 3.5 out of 5 if I could. First of all, the server was incredibly friendly, and I have no complaints about the service. The restaurant is clean, and while the interior is small, it's quite charming. Although many reviews are highly enthusiastic, I found the food to be rather average. My boyfriend ordered the bulgogi yutari bowl and thought it was good. I tried the Osaka namba roll and found it decent, though it felt a bit small for a $16 special roll. Lastly, we ordered the $10 pork buns, which already seemed pricey for pork buns, and they were underwhelming—just average, really. They were also the smallest buns I’ve ever had, and I’ve had plenty! Overall, it's a cute establishment with friendly staff, but the food was average and felt slightly overpriced."

"Service was kind of disappointing just based on the money I paid, I expected to get 5 star service to go w/ the 5 star food but I felt my waiter wasn't really doing a good job In tending to me and my dates table and it kind of made our date look bad because it was suppose to be a romantic Valentine's Day date. He came to our table to take our order and to serve the food besides that we had a hard time getting his attention to tend to us. Then when the bill came it was maybe about 170$ the gratuity was already added which was fine because I am use to that at up scale resturants but I gave the waiter two hundred dollar bills and without asking me did I need change back he took it and never came back to the table. I did not want to argue or speak my mind to him about what I felt he should have done Infront of my date so I just left. That was very unprofessional and taken advantage of the customer. Besides that the food selection and the taste was amazing."
