"I've never tried Burmese food before coming to this place, and it exceeded my expectations! This restaurant was chosen on a whim for an after graduation dinner since it was nearby. Our family has two vegans, three people gluten sensitive, and two meat lovers so it's always a headache trying to choose a restaurant where we're all satisfied. Well, Burma Bistro was perfect for us. We ordered: Mango Salad: Really tasty and different from a lot of mango salads I've tried. It's a little sour and sweet at the same time and the vegetables and mangoes are a nice texture. Spicy Shan Noodle Stir Fry: Also great but not exactly spicy at least to my standards . It tasted more sweet than spicy or salty, but the sauce was tasty and so were the vegetables and tofu. Chicken Kebat, Fiery Lemon Lamb, Burmese Style Beef Stew: Did not try any of these but my family enjoyed them all. A favorite was definitely the Beef stew. Fiery Tofu with Vegetables: This was my favorite dish for sure. The tofu was cut into wide strips unlike cubed in most restaurants and really firm and chewy. The sauce was a delicious basil taste and had a little bit of a kick to it. I also liked the green beans and other vegetables that came with the dish. Our waitress was really accommodating to all our requests and questions and our food was brought out quickly. We really enjoyed this place and will definitely come back if we're in the area again!"

"I first went to Haiku when they first opened and their food and service was good. However, over the years the food quality and service has deteriorated and even worse for today, 7/29/22, when I went to Haiku in White Plains with co-workers for lunch. We ordered our lunch immediately and advised the server we were pressed for time since we only had a one hour lunch. We literally arrived at 1:05pm. We asked for our drinks, ginger ale and two waters with lemon and waited. They finally brought our drinks at 1:30pm and we asked the server how long for our food. Six tables came after us and received their food immediately, it was 1:45pm and the only other food that came were the soups associated with our meals. We waited until 1:50pm when the server came over with one of my co-workers meal and gave the excuse the other two dishes were still being prepared. My co-worker requested utensils and was completely ignored but instead had the check literally dropped on the table next to her. We asked if we would receive a comp for such poor service and the server advised no, the food was coming out and walked away! I personally thought what restaurant serves meals at a table piecemeal!? We waited five minutes and saw another table which had arrived ten minutes before our status check receive their lunch meal. We called the server over and asked what seemed to be the issue with our lunch and she advised the other people had ordered sushi and we pointed out other tables of rice and lunch meals who came after our group. We asked to have our food to go and she advised it would take some time to prep the food to go! We couldn't believe it, we walked over to the manager, who suddenly could not understand our complaint. We left the food behind and just left. We were very disappointed with the service we received at Haiku. I had made up my mind to stop going there years ago, but only went there today at the request of my coworkers. Never again will I go to Haiku, much less recommend it to the myriad of people I know. Did I mention the server spilled a full glass of water and tried to make it seem it was our fault!? I am so disappointed I rate it 0"
