"We went to this restaurant on Mother's Day. Although we had a reservation, we didn't learn that there was a restricted Prix Fixe Menu in place until we were seated. Despite the restricted menu, which should have taken pressure off the kitchen, the service often was painfully slow, and we waited for over 10 minutes to receive hot beverages when we were seated; four hot dishes appeared several minutes before the other two came out. On the positive side, there is strong evidence of a serious traditionally trained chef reflected in the food. The Hollandaise on the Eggs Florentine was classic and excellent (rather than the glop that is usually served on eggs , well seasoned with tarragon, and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The strip steak was outstanding, and the burger fine, but the duck was mediocre, curiously presented on a bland puree of pea. The breads were standout I am not a big fan of bread, but this bread was well worth eating! Dessert was a platter of 5 elegant confections, two of which were excellent, two of which were good, and one of which was tasteless. Our waiter had an accent (French? that made him hard to understand, and he also seemed to have trouble understanding us when asked about anchovies on a Caesar Salad he told us it was part of the dressing, but it was actually two fish laid on top of the dish (which I would have requested not to have if I had been given correct information . The menu itself was curiously constructed, with explicit information on some dishes, and not much on others. Although this restaurant is meant to be a brasserie model, it lacks the welcoming environment of this kind of setting that is usually established by the host and wait staff the only place this was in evidence was at the bakery, where the service was friendly and attentive. Because of the relatively high quality of the food, it is hoped that this restaurant works on its wait staff and kitchen organization, so that the food is optimally presented."

"Bijou 400 Broadhollow Rd. Melville, NY 11747 (631)755 5777 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR AN AMAZING TIME ONCE AGAIN. Thanks Wayne Martini for letting me know about the car show and DJ Sal Scott. 7pm reservation and was running so late. Julie (Hostess) was very helpful is changing my reservation 3 times to a later time. 8:30pm. I got there but Julie was gone but of course I left $5 w/mgr Paul. Easy name to remember. That's my hubby's name. Paul was awesome. Very friendly and all smiles. Hostess Lucianna greeted me. I so love her lashes and she was so you happy and all smiles. Very chipper. Great personality. She too got a tip $3. I feel it's great to tip the hostess for when they are nice and helpful to you. I always do. I see Lia(server) and server from last Sunday Brunch. She again was our server but I again tip her $5 to show appreciation. We get seated and I'm dancing on my seat. I make sure to introduce myself to DJ Sal Scott. Lovely fella. Mike says hello to me as well. His the bouncer/security. Omg. He's huge but was a lovely guy. Teddy bear. So so nice, friendly and charming. He introduced me to another security staff that used to be a model. Very lovely fella as well. Nice pretty white front teeth. There was another security guard. Young man that helped take a video for me. I'm so grateful. Thank you so much. Forgot I had my hubby there to take pics videos. Lol. Once again great atmosphere, gorgeous and well dressed guests. Now the food. AMAZING. We get our food but unfortunately there was a misunderstanding. Chan (Mgr) resolved the issue and server still got 20% tip even though he wasn't really around. I saw Oscar and laughed about the error of me calling him Julio for that the name for my primary Dr. He laughed saying no problem. Brussels Sprouts A little crunchy w/garlic and very tasty. Asparagus wonderfully cooked and Parmesan cheese on top. Crispy Fried Calamari w/pepper my absolute fav so delicious. Crispy but soft with a bite. Perfection. "The other reviews are right. We went on a weeknight and it was pretty full. The service is slow from the kitchen and the servers dont know the menu or the bar list. I get that there are 150 kinds of whiskey and scotch on the menu but he didn 't know a lot about it. The food is so so. The spinach ravioli was overcooked and mushy and drowning in sauce. It was too bad, because they used fresh spinach in there and the sauce had a good flavor. The shepards pie came out with a pasty lump of potatoes on top and the french onion soup had barely melted cheese on it. I guess the cooks never heard of broiling to brown the top of things. Again, the flavor was pretty good, but the presentation and finishing touches left a lot to be desired. We asked if there were any scotch or whiskey liquors on the menu. The waiter, of course, did not know, but asked. The answer, no. Really? There are a ton of these things on the market so that was surprising considering this is there differentiator. Fine. I asked if they had decaf coffee. The answer we only have caffeinated. Last week, we had only decaf!! So I asked for any kind of decaf/herbal tea. He brought me two versions of "lightly caffeinated tea! I 'm a tea drinker and I have never heard of this. Odd thing for a bar to have when they dont even have chamomille. Not sure who is ordering supplies, but clearly they need to pull it together. In general however, I liked the place. It fits big groups, wasn 't too too loud and had a fun vibe. The menu was broad enough and the whiskey/scotch selection rocked. I feel like they could make some minor changes, train the staff better and have a real winner."

"Tiny Lou’s is a basic Instagram Influencer’s wet dream. Lots of photo ops but nary a good dish! We had a GREAT server, Fiona, who suggested all of the dishes cocktails we were excited to try. The Good Their new signature cocktail, the Ango Colada, was delicious! Rum, bitters, pineapple juice, coconut milk, and lime make for an excellent drink. The OverHyped Buratta Bread Service. Our bread was not freshly baked. The buratta in the center was ice cold and the bread was fall apart crusty, not pillowy. Our serving was a leftover piece from the day before and reheated. This was the start to our meal and pretty much set the tone… The Flavorless The French Onion Soup was so oily and flavorless. The dish is lacking salt and the onions were actually still crunchy. The Claremont Burger is an unseasonable patty of beef cooked within an inch of its death. This was ordered at a medium temperature and came out well done. The fries that accompanied this burger were so salty, they should have been added to the soup! The OverCooked and OverSalted The Hanger Steak (ordered medium) and Truffle Fries arrived as one charred brick of well done steak along with the saltiest fries ever. The truffle and Parmesan smelled wonderful when the plate was presented, but the fries were inedible due to the amount of salt that covered them. We were really disappointed in the whole meal as the service, cocktails and restaurant are wonderful. Adding t Tiny Lou’s to the ‘one and done’ list."
