"It was very busy, but the restaurant has a lot of seats, so I didn't have to wait long. The food seems to be made fresh. I ordered the Oaxaca Bowl and it was amazing. Good food, rice and beans were tasteful. The vegetables should not be overcooked. The free chips were warm and the salsa was lightly spicy. Be careful because it is easy to fill them. My waiter checked me regularly and the place was pretty clean. Compared to recent experience in similar restaurants, I am very impressed. A huge television hangs over the seats that show FIFA World Cup. The decor is beautiful and you have comfortable high-back stands. I will definitely be back!"

"It is absolutely the BEST mexican restaurant I 've eaten in around the Asheville area. The tacos are huge, I had carne asada meat, my grandaughter had the carnita tacos, our friend had carne asada plate. Super good quality of meat, carne asada is the best I 've ever had. The help yourself salsa bar has about 10 different salsa 's. Their bean dip is wonderful, and guacamole is so good. The menu is huge. BTW, taco 's are served with beans and rice OR a salad, the plates all come out so warm, they heat each plate before putting food on it. It 's super, super clean. Prompt service and fast. They have a huge menu, salmon for one, lots of plates . Take a look at the menu online. . It REALLY IS EXCELLENT! Not expensive either!!"

"We love Azteca! It 's become our weekly ritual for so many reasons. The owner staff are amazing, the food, the margaritas and the happy hour are absolutely fantastic. More specifically, the Azteca margarita is strong, smoky and almost makes my wife cry in joy every time she has it. Street Taco Tuesdays and Fajita Fridays are delicious and are one of, if not the best deals in town. I 'm a Midwest kid originally from Wisconsin and friendliness and hospitality go a long way with me and I 've yet to find a place like this. Manny (personally) and his team are consistently making sure you 're well taken care of and are enjoying everything. We love it so much we 're trying to get our own booth lol. Go and enjoy, they have customers for life with us."

"7/6 update More of their new normal, poor quality food like substance, and poor service. It took longer to get the drinks than food, the soggy mess was they peddle as food was out in a few minutes when drinks took 5+ minutes. New review 7/15/2017: Like most resturants in the area, they started out great, and now the quality of food has fallen way down. The service is still great. We have been 10+ times since they opened, and the last three have been poor quality food. Today, I ordered the Burrito California, and it was so salty I just picked at it. We received the food about 5 minutes after ordering, I would rather wait 15-20 minutes for food that tasted like it used to. I guess we will head up the mountain for the Papa' s Beer in Skyland, NC. Also, the waiter today took our drinks for a refill and, 5 minutes later, returned them after serving others. I hope he returned ours instead of someone else's drink. Sad that they are going the path of the others in the area. Old review: 5 stars, great food, this is the best in the area. You will notice that their food has more flavor, and they make sure it looks great as well."

"I used to enjoy going to this restaurant, but an experience I had today has soured me on the establishment. I had in hand a coupon from a local publication indicating I could receive 1/2 off on a lunch combo. My wife and I ordered from the lunch combomenu, but when I went to pay, I noticed that the price was higher than that listed on the menu. The reason? It was a Sunday andthe very fine print on the menu indicates that lunch combos are only available Monday through Saturday. Worse, the fellow at theregister would not accept my coupon, even at the higher price, despite the fact that there was no indication that it was notvalid on Sunday. I blame the server to some extent for not pointing out that the lunch combos were not available on Sunday.All-in-all, a very disappointing experience and an example of poor customer relations."

"I truly enjoyed my experience here. My guest and I wanted perfect margaritas but frozen with flavor asked if we could have a pitcher ...they said yes and only charged 2 more. Omg food was really good lots of flavor, hot, and perfect. I ordered the fajita cowboy...queso, and you must try the guacamole it's fresh and worh it. Prices are very reasonable. My favorite place now for mexican. Server was very friendly and checked on our table multiple times. Thank you for a wonderful time with my family , eats, and service. I will be returning."

"We were vacationing here and craving Mexican cuisine. Jose Tequila's did not disappoint! Let's keep it simple. There was no wait. There was a bunch of extremely helpful waiters. There was a bunch of good food! Everything was also incredibly clean and inviting. Their guacamole dip was enough to win me over. It was very fresh and delicious. Our food was prompt, hot, and tasty. I can't remember what my dish was called, but I've attached a picture. It was a very healthy portion and did not disappoint at all. Definitely try this restaurant out!"

"So we decided to go here over Don Jaun's because the last time we went to Don's I got Carne Asada Tacos and it really wasn't that good. So we decided to try this place because they had decent reviews. We got in and first off they put us right by the front door right where all the customers and waiters and waitresses are walking through. So the girl comes to take our drink orders she was really sweet and we also ordered a queso dip. While waiting for our app they bring chips and Salsa and the chips looked like they dumped the bottom of the bag into our basket. Then our app came out the queso was so runny we couldn't even scoop it up with any chips let alone the crumbles pieces we had it served better as beverage. So then another girl comes to take our order and she has her purse in her hand we were like where's our server? And I ordered the Rancheros and supposed to come with rice and beans and I got none of that just the 3 tortillas wrapped with meat that was it! We ordered my daughter 2 soft tacos and she only got 1. And her mother ordered Chimichanga with white sauce no red sauce and she got red sauce and said the food wasn't that good either she only ate 1 and no rice or anything else. Fortunately, my food was really good I just didn't get what I paid for no rice or beans so I wasn't happen at all! Then when it came time to pay there was nobody upfront to take mine and another customers payment. They stood there waiting about 10mins to pay and I waited about 8mins to pay. Overall it wasn't a great experience since we had like 3-4 waitresses we didn't get the food we ordered and just overall it's not enough to bring us back. I really don't think that management cares either because I looked at the reviews and not 1 reply from the owners or a manger from all their reviews and that shows they don't care. So save your time and your money and go somewhere else for a better experience. I don't recommend this place at all unless you want below subpar service and subpar food your better off going to Don Jauns less than 1\2 mile down the road. And we ended up spending about $43.00 and we left a 20% tip as well even though they didn't deserve it."

"I saw great cries and heard good things for a while before we finally managed to try them. I think the whole personal said hi or confirmed us sometime during our visit. the portions are large, eating is hot and tasty, the staff is great, and its a fun place to check. we will certainly try new things again. we enjoyed two portions of chips with salsa and queso blanco, a cheeseburger, swirling rings, a taco salad with very tasteful beans and fluffy rice, a children's breakfast dish with speck, extra speck instead of an ice, and two (not so) mini pancakes. can not wait to go back and try it more!"

"came here with a few friends for an early dinner. it was dark and a little grungey inside, but seemed relatively clean until we sat down. the menus were sticky and all 4 of us were overwhelmed by the amount of options there were. we ordered the mac and cheese bites for an appetizer and they were mediocre at best. they tasted exactly like velveeta (which may be good if you enjoy velveeta, but personally i am not a fan. especially when i am out to eat). for my entree i ordered a buffalo chicken grinder, and i was immediately not appealed upon seeing it. from looking at it, it appeared to be mostly lettuce, but i was not upset about this as i just took a little bit of it off. i WAS upset, however (or maybe slightly nauseated is a better word), about the several pieces of bone i chomped down on when i bit into the chicken. the first time i just spit it out and continued eating, but the second and third time was enough for me. i ended up removing the chicken and lettuce entirely and just eating cheese and buffalo sauce on a piece of bread. without the lettuce and chicken on it it actually wasn?t bad, but at this point i was a little grossed out from all the hard pieces i had bitten into, so i didn?t end up eating much more. to top off this sub par experience, when i turned on the water in the restroom to wash my hands after i went, the tiniest dribble of water came out of the faucet. it was barely enough to rinse the soap off my hands, let alone properly wash them. i do have to say, the service was good; we were seated immediately upon our arrival, our waitress was very attentive and sweet, and our food was out of the kitchen relatively quick. however, the service doesn?t mean much when the food is slightly sickening."

"I do have one suggestion: it would be great if Mexican restaurants served their chips and salsa warm, as it really elevates the dining experience. We will definitely return to sample more dishes from the menu! I wanted to add a bit more to my review. On September 18, 2021, we came back to celebrate my husband's 66th birthday and brought his sister along, since we had been raving about this place to her. She lives just a short walk away but hadn’t visited until now. The young man working there was incredibly kind—he opened the door for us and helped us find a table that accommodated all of us, as my sister-in-law uses a wheelchair, my husband had a rollator, and I use a cane. The service was quick, and as always, the food was hot and absolutely amazing! My sister-in-law immediately fell in love with Arturo's, and they did not disappoint. She mentioned she would definitely come back and joked that if she could, she'd be there every day, wishing they would deliver to her since she would be ordering daily! Overall, we left as happy new customers. My husband was thrilled to celebrate his birthday in such a fantastic place with delicious food. Thank you!"

"We made a reservation for six and arrived right on time, where we were seated promptly. We had a cozy corner bench with one person at the table. The menu was easy to read and offered a wide variety of choices. Our waiter was extremely accommodating. My Mexican husband said the food tasted very authentic—one of the best meals we've had here in the states. The decor created a comfortable atmosphere, and the rest of our party felt the same way. "I found it. One of the biggest bummers about moving from the west coast to NC was the dearth of authentic Mexican cuisine. So, it was certainly an unexpected and pleasant surprise finding this gem in northeast Raleigh. Though it 's attached to a gasstation (albeit among the most modern and ritzy ones I 've ever encountered), that 's where the hole-in-the-wall stereotypeends. Clean establishment, massive menu, prompt and friendly service, and food that resembles everything I remember about myhome state. I had the huge burrito, and my wife opted for the street tacos. "Always a great choice for family night or date night. The menu expands beyond traditional choices but each element of every plate seems to be prepared with care. The helpful, personable and attentive staff are open to changes and substitutions to ensure everyone gets exactly what they want. While the signature dishes such as the pollo con mole and shrimp relleno stand out, they never stand alone, the beans are always just right, the rice is always perfect, the vegetables always fresh. All the food for a course arrives at the table at the same time to ensure everyone is served together. Hot food is always piping hot. The details are taken seriously here and although you may not always notice at the time, they add up to make the entire experience a pleasant one."

"This restaurant is filled with wonderful people, delicious food, and excellent service. Our meals arrived before we could even finish our chips, and I have to say, the food was outstanding.
