"Legends franchise is all about the SAUCE! A good mix of Guyanese Chinese but lacks to authentic flavor compared to the other Guyanese restaurants. I had the spicy Lamb and jerk chicken wings with fried rice. This was good but not excellent.Additionally, restaurant was empty on a Friday night and it took one hour to get food on top of the waitress making a mistake onour order. Service is terrible and kitchen takes forever to make food! They lack the grounds to be a successful restaurant.Should take note from Caribbean cabana and the next. Way better service and food!"

"I'm really disappointed with the decline in quality at Hibiscus. The food has gotten worse, and they keep raising the prices. Recently, my dad, who has been buying fried rice from there for years, had a terrible experience with stale and cold rice. It made him sick for a whole week. I strongly advise against eating there because the quality has seriously gone down, and it can be a risk to your health. The restaurant has a dirty and cramped atmosphere, and the staff is always rude and inattentive. Hibiscus used to be the best West Indian restaurant in Queens Village, but now it's not doing well. It's important not to support a place that serves bad and old food. I also found out that the restaurant received nine violations from the New York State Health Department on January 25, 2023. These violations include things like not having the proper food safety certification, not properly cleaning food contact surfaces, having evidence of mice, not maintaining proper food temperatures, and not keeping the establishment free from pests. They also had issues with dishwashing and sanitization of utensils and equipment."

"Westies was open and serving our community during the COVID years and we continue to gather there when our family goes out to eat several times a year. This time we again were disappointed with poor service and the food. The kids get applesauce but no spoons provided, forks and knives served in a plastic bag and even with reservations not enough for everyone. Only napkins are provided from a holder, like a fast food restaurant. No bread and butter dishes provided for shared appetizers. For that matter no rolls or butter with entrees either given or offered. Huge baked potatoes cooked perfectly but you only get two small pads of better with it. Dirty appetizer dishes left on the table when entrees are served by runners. Their waitresses need training. A waitress should never be empty handed. Their people are. The stuffed flounder was full of mush and barely any flounder to wrap it in. 3.75% added for credit card use. We know to bring cash. It's loud and always packed on weekends. 18% tip added for a table of 8, even though the service was less than average. Sorry Westies we will be looking for a new place for family dinners. Thanks for your bravery in 2020 and staying open when others folded. All the best!"

"I was there 2 weeks ago with my Bf and his family for Lunch. We ordered our food, we had a very friendly waitress. when she brought our food I Noticed a hair on the rim of the plate. I said something not sure if she heard me or not but my Bf familysaid ? it?s ok don?t say anything to her mistakes happen? which tends to happen. Not going to disagree. she had her hairopened down . But I honestly feel that management needs to reinforce that all waitress must wear a net to protect their hairfrom falling into peoples food plate. Someone else might have made a ugly scene for such poor quality. I know they want todisplay their beauty for attraction while serving but keeping your hair underneath a net might save you from getting badreviews, and maybe losing customers. I mean whenever we go to Queens we always look forward for Hibiscus food, and goodquality service's of course Excellent food !!! We love eating here and I hope next time when we go back they have on theirhair net. Thank you!"

"Let me start by saying this is by far one of my favorite Mexican places to eat, and has been since I was a child. However, I have found hair in my food twice. The first time this happened the manager showed up to basically blame me that there was hair in my food and his staff does not have short hair. Was I shocked yes however I let it slide because it happens. However, while eating tonight I found another hair in my food after taking two bites. I let my waitress know and let her know that it was okay I didn’t need anything else. A couple minutes later the manager comes over with the same comments that he had the last time that it couldn’t possibly be his employees. I was disappointed in this. A simple I’m sorry this happened would have sufficed however it didn’t end that way and it was now our fault that a hair was in our food. I was not upset that this happened up until that point. You don’t ever go into a restaurant expecting something to be wrong but it happens and needs to be handled in the correct way. I am very disappointed in the way this was handled and I hope that this changes."

"My friend suggested going to a Jamaican restaurant. We were seated at a table but it took a while before our server came to take our drink order. My friend ordered Jerk chicken and salad and I ordered grilled salmon and salad. We asked to have our salads first but it never happened and the server never came back until our entire order was ready. The wait time for our entrees was long and the salads would have quenched the lag. The food, however, was delicious and I enjoyed the music."

"My wife and I were visiting family in the area, and they took us to this restaurant. We both tried the California Burrito; she opted for the smaller size while I went for the larger one, which was just right for me as I'm on the bigger side. We chose the combo with steak, shrimp, and chicken. We also enjoyed a couple of pictures of margaritas with our family, which added to the fun atmosphere. The waitstaff was very attentive, and our food arrived quickly and tasted great. My brother-in-law shared a dessert with us—a cheesecake with ice cream—which was also excellent. When we were seated, we were given chips and salsa; the salsa was tasty, though I would have preferred it a bit spicier, but it was perfect for my wife who isn’t a fan of heat. Overall, I thought it was a good value for the money, and once again, the service was quick and attentive to our needs."

"Terrible Food! It's been years that I have been to this restaurant, that was good many years back.. The food is NOT good anymore. I purchased the lamb fried rice, the lamb was extremely hard and a lot of bones instead of meat. The meat was definitely very old! The broccoli and garlic tasted like they added a ton of sugar in it, nasty tasting food. Watered-down drinks. They also have a tacky posting at every table, stating their is a 20% charge for tips on all dine in checks."

"I visited the location in Vernon CT on Hartford Turnpike for dinner. I ordered the large fried chicken meal and my husband had the large j chicken meal. I have NEVER had Jamaican fried chicken like this EVER before! The coating on the chicken was like rock stone, the inside was very dry and bland. I was very disappointed with the food I received and the amount of money spent. My husband said his chicken was very dry as well. The only thing that was good was the oxtail gravy that I had on the rice and peas. The rice and cabbage was ok.I honestly feel like the fried chicken was a few days old and they just reheated it. I have NEVER experienced chicken this way from ANYWHERE.I’m a chef myself and I do give credit when it’s due but this experience was unbelievably bad. I honestly felt that I was going to break a tooth if I continued eating it."

"I asked how much Hennessy is per shot, the bartender said $10. I then asked for a Hennessy Margarita and the guy at the bar took at least 5 minutes to make it. After I drank it, he then gives me a bill for $21.30I asked how is it this much, and he says cause it’s two shots of Hennessy. I didn’t ask for a double shot drink but was still forced to pay. The manager came and said that “That’s the way we make it” I’m like ma’am he didn’t even know how to make the drink to begin with.Eventually I paid in cash and left. The receipt was sketchy looking as hell. No markings that notates the actual drink that I got. Never ever going back, and honestly it wasn’t my first choice to begin with. Q44 was closed ??"

"I wish I had discovered this place sooner! Now that we've finally found Richie's, we order from there once a week. It's the only restaurant where my husband, daughter, and I all agree on our favorites. We've never had a bad meal, and the service is outstanding. During my first visit to pick up an order, a woman recognized me, called me by name, and efficiently guided me to the register to get my order right away. The quality of the food and the service is so exceptional that I highly recommend skipping the chain restaurants and visiting this charming family-run gem instead."

"My friend and I shared a large bowl of cow heel soup along with an order of fried chicken and fried rice. We requested that the soup be divided into two bowls, which is why our photo only shows half of it. Overall, the food was decent. I was a bit hesitant to try the cow heel since I had never had it before, but I was pleasantly surprised! It reminded me of the beef tendon often served in dim sum. The soup was rich in collagen and included ground peas, taro, and some corn, making it very filling. However, we did have a significant issue with the billing process that left a sour taste in our mouths. When my friend went to the register to ask about the total, the cashier printed out a bill showing the total amount but left the tip section blank. The receipt was not itemized, so we couldn't see the individual prices of the items we ordered. My friend felt something was off and insisted on seeing an itemized bill. To our surprise, it turned out that a 15% tip had already been included in the total. Yet, when they printed the copy for us to sign, the tip line remained blank. If you weren't paying attention, you might have ended up tipping an additional 15%. The cashier admitted that the total already included the tip, which was clearly a deliberate tactic to confuse customers into paying more. It's disappointing to discover that they operate this way, lacking honesty and integrity in their business practices."

"Located in a less than picturesque area of Glen Burnie, surrounded by used car lots and transmission repair shops, this restaurant may not seem like much from the outside. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing food and great service. I ordered a simple jerk chicken sandwich with fries, and was blown away by the tender, juicy, and spicy chicken nestled between slices of sweet coco bread. The homemade pineapple ginger juice was also a highlight of the meal. The staff, particularly Marlon, was incredibly friendly and helpful, suggesting I try their whole snapper on my next visit. Overall, despite its less than ideal location, I will definitely be returning to this restaurant soon. If only it were situated by the water or a marina, I would become a regular customer."

"I am a foodie at heart and very diverse person, with being from the Caribbean this is highway robbery everything in the store is dumb expensive, I ordered my food for 3, the wait was 15 min which I didn 't have a problem with waiting, my husband goes back into the store only for the gentlemen at the counter to question him if he even ordered from their restaurant and he will like to see the receipt smh. We Finally got that settled got home and tried to eat the food with my child 's mouth burning , along with mines and my husband. The rice was over cooked and stale, cabbage was too mushy and watery and limited meat for the curry chicken and barbecue chicken, Lets say we paid close to 45.00 for two small orders and one large with the only side available was cabbage, with none of us finishing the meal due to the amount of pepper in it . I will not recommend this restaurant nor will I be going back, too each it 's own but when supporting black businesses you need to tighten up this is why we sometimes fail at excelling."
