"A gem in Roanoke!. Who would have guessed this gem existed! If I could, I would come to Taaza on a weekly basis. After trying restaurant after restaurant in Roanoke, I believe this is the best. The service is always courteous and timely without being overbearing. The atmosphere is relaxed and always tidy. The lunch buffet is a wonderful way to try out some new dishes and it is always fresh. This is the first choice for my family and even my friends for dinner dates and lunches. I haven't had a miss plate yet. There is a reason this place is so well recommended, try it!!"

"The veggie korma, butter chicken, and pomegranate chicken were absolutely incredible. I can't get enough of the papadums served with chutney before the meal; they're simple yet bursting with flavor. We've tried various Indian restaurants, and this one is hands down the best. We live in Mount Vernon and happily make the 45-minute drive once a month just to enjoy this amazing food!"

"Order never arrived on time, no matter how much earlier it was ordered. I literally ordered before 1 hour and after reaching the place at the pick up time, they made me wait for 15 more minutes to give my food. This is ridiculous and you guys definitely have to work on this. People order in advance to cut the wait time and what’s the point of ordering them before? Do you really care of your customers time? If so please respect it and work on your time management. It happened to me several times and each time I have to make sure I have my order ready reaching there.. this means you guys only start working on the order after someone reaches the place?Note: restaurant is not busy at all for dine ins to assume it took them a while to work on mine.Very disrespectful!!!!!"

"I've dined at the downtown location several times and have always enjoyed my meals there. However, I recently had dinner with a couple of friends at the Upper East Side location, and the quality of the dishes was inconsistent. Those who ordered chicken seemed quite pleased, while those of us who chose vegetarian options had a few minor issues. For example, the cauliflower in my dish was noticeably undercooked. On a positive note, the service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely consider returning if I'm in the area again."

"My friend, Laura, hosted my birthday dinner at this new restaurant last week and we had a great time. – Thank you, Tom Sietsema! The pani poori was good — although I preferred it without the cumin water. Watch out – these one-bite appetizers are rather large! The tandoori chicken was excellent, as was the nan flecked with rock salt and cilantro. By the way, the outstanding raita comes in very handy! The parking situation is not great, but the restaurant is very homey and inviting, the prices are outstanding (two people dined for less than $40), and the staff are exceedingly attentive, knowledgable and helpful. "Was on a business trip and landed here during the stop over. It was a sweet surprise to find a good Indian restaurant with authentic Punjabi flavor. Had the lunch buffet, and I liked it. Rather than focussing on overloading with too many appetizers they just have a few but have ensured they taste good. The chole tikki was one of the best. Butter chicken, goat curry were delicious too with the right amount of spices unlike other restaurants who just thrown in the hot spices. Biryani had the the authentic north indian taste which is rare to find. Gulab jamun was nice, ras malai nothing great but I am anyways not a fan of it, so was fine. The atmosphere is good and owners are very attentive and warm. Will definitely return whenever I visit VA."

"Really tired of how cheap this place is in everything but the prices they charge. Used to order a lot of takeout from here but they've price gouged so much since covid their prices are now just unreasonable. And last several orders they've consistently cheaped out in different ways. Straw that broke the camel's back for me was in my last order, an order of 4 dishes, they for whatever absurd reason insisted on stuffing everything into one single medium sized paper bag. My order would not have fit in said paper bag. Instead of using 2 bags or a bigger bag...they squeezed everything they could inside that bag and left out anything they couldn't fit. For that reason, my order was missing a rice that was supposed to be included with one of the meals, so one of my family members was left with spicy chicken with no rice to cool their tongue off and balance the meal. Also, one of the masala dishes exploded because everything was squeezed in so tight, which left a stain on our doormat we've now had to replace (from the delivery being placed there), and one of my family members only had half a dish we paid full [over]price for. It's crazy to me how they can raise their prices so much and yet do things like this. I mean, you couldn't afford a $0.0001 paper bag?? They've done a lot of other cheap stuff too, but that would make this a much longer review than it already is. I'm done with this place. Never going back."

"We arrived early before our reservation and found it quiet for a Friday night at We sat alone at the bar after seeing their window advertisement for happy hour and were greeted by the Maitre D who at the time seemed like the only employee there serving as host, bartender, and waiter. He told us the happy hour drink special was BOGO free! That was a great deal and my date and I took advantage with the (not so strong) cocktails. To pair with the drinks we got an open faced samosa that arrived looking like a boat filled with the Indian spices and potato filling- we had to pick it up to eat it! We eventually sat down at a nice corner window table and ordered the lamb and cheese croquettes- more lamb than we expected- it was tasty! And a chicken and lamb dish, and finally creme brûlÃe for dessert. The highlight of our meal was definitely the samosa. We did find it quite pricey for the extras, though: for a basket of naan and for a palm size serving of creme brûlÃe and it was a bit odd that it seemed like the manager was the only employee on a Friday night! Overall a good dining experience and will return to try their other dishes !"

"A long standing Thai restaurant headed up by a Thai chef, with a hotel-restaurant atmosphere and in line with its name there's a large Buddha statue overlooking the dining room. The menu has pretty much all the items you expect from a typical Thai restaurant (such as a variety of curries, tom yum, Pad Thai and a good selection of Thai desserts) and also includes a few Isan dishes overall offering tastes throughout the non-spicy to spicy spectrum. If you're a vegetarian, there's also quite an impressive amount of options for you. In addition to their a la carte menu, they offer an all you can eat weekend deal which includes a soup, a small selection of dim sum (8 options, 3 fried and 5 steamed) and a choice of a red or green vegetable or chicken curry. The dim sum is unlimited so you can reorder the ones you enjoyed the most. The food for this deal is not amazing, but since this is an all you can eat deal it's really good for the AED79 price tag. Service is good in a hotel-professional way, they tend to attract Thai customers (a positive sign) and it's a great refined but relaxed Thai experience."

"The appetizer of the fried cheese was cold and the waiter said it was supposed to be. We had it warmed up and it was better. You should never order a martini here because they really don’t understand what you want. I ordered a well shaken, grey goose martini with three olives and I knew, when our waiter brought it, that they added olive juice so I sent it back to get a dry martini, well shaken and they brought it out with ice cubes in it. I removed the ice and drank it. The scallop korma had very few scollops and a lot of gravy but the gravy was good. I think their food is not what it used to be and I was disappointed . My friend felt the same. I will be trying other Indian Restaurants because I love Indian Food."

"My husband ordered the mild ginger chicken Biryani, but it turned out to be very spicy! It was so hot that we ran out of water at the table and struggled to cool it down. It would have been helpful if the server had warned us about the spice level. I opted for the mild chicken, which was good, albeit lacking in spices, but still quite tasty. Since it was our first experience with Indian cuisine, we didn’t know what to expect. While we are open to trying Indian food again in the future, we won’t be returning to this particular restaurant. The service we received was disappointing and left much to be desired. If you’re indifferent to the quality of service during a dining experience, this might be the place for you, but it definitely wasn’t our cup of tea."

"We walked in with no one to greet, an almost empty place with one customer eating food. We waited to be seated (as per the sign) no one came for next 5 7 minutes. So we just sat at a table. A girl passed by who seemed to be the employee, we got it confirmed that it was open. More wait to receive the menu. We started to order, and were told you can’t order certain items (pretty much every item we wanted) . We asked for menu that had items that were actually being offered. We were given a different menu card. We ordered two different dosas. For next 30 40 minutes no one showed up. Finally mine of us walked up to the kitchen and asked if we were ever going to get served, the chef (who didn’t speak any English showed us the ready to serve plates indicating there was no one to bring them out) Finally the waiter brought those out. Both Dosas were cold, limp and soggy by now. But more disappointing was the taste!!! OMG! So very salty and absolute zero on authenticity!! Mysore Masala Dosa had readymade Lasoon chutney on it as a replacement for “Podi” and Madras masala Dosa had “sambal“ as a replacement to onion chutney! It was sheer salt and Vinegar medley!! What a waste! The accompaniments like Sambar and chutneys were equally disappointing if not more. In all a complete disappointment No service, Bad taste and cold food. Never going back there again."

"We went tonight for dinner. As soon as we reached there, we ordered appetizers and asked the server to bring that first and then come back for main course order. The guy who took the order, Jackson was rude right from the beginning. He asked us to order the appetizer and main cour together and assured us that they both will be served one after the other. We received the appetizer and the main course all together. We asked them to take back the main course because there is no way we can have both courses together. We adked for the manager and the owner, Moses came to us and said that since we ordered both meals together, they served it. We tried to confirm with the guy who took the order and he lied in front of his owner. I was so shocked and on top of that instead of apologizing to us, he started yelling.Anyway, the reason why I am giving two stars is because the food was good but the service was very bad and Jackson had big attitude issue.I will never go back to this restaurant again"
