"We had a wonderful evening. The food was great, our main server exceptional and the ambiance trendy. At the end of the evening we asked for a taxi and were told it is difficult to find one in Chicago. The gentleman who happened to be at the greeting area ordered us an uber. We thought we would pay upon arrival at our hotel but to our surprise we were told by the driver that the individual who ordered the uber paid for it! Thanking this gentleman personally"

"This has always been one of our go to places. However, the last recent visit left us disappointed. The service is always excellent. However, the food was not up to par.. We both ordered veal parmesan, which we 've had in the past and enjoyed; this time was not one of those cases. Portions of the meat were hard and contained grizzle. We were both halfway through the meat when we realized it and did not feel comfortable returning the food. Oh well, I guess every once in a while there 's a hiccup; disappointed that it was at our expense."

"This is my second time here. I came back after having the truffle pasta. It was so good I had to try more items on the menu. This time I got the swordfish carpaccio, the pasta alla carbonara and then the tiramisu for dessert. I had a chianti to drink. Overall fantastic. The swordfish: some bites were a little fishy, but most were not. Heated slices of fish and still a little rare. Flavors were delicate and delightful. Would get again. Pasta again was divine. Perfectly cooked pasta with the perfect bite and chew. I loved the guanciale in place of pancetta. Sooo much better. And no peas. I much prefer it this way! I overheard someone at the next table who had ordered the dish say the pepper was too much for her. I completely disagree with her. Pepper is one of the main ingredients in this dish and therefore should stand out. I don't love pepper and I thought the seasoning was en pointe. Tiramisu was heavenly. Can't go wrong with carbs and cream. I had the same waiter as last time. I love him. Very pleasant and attentive. The place is busy but staff is always available to assist"

"We went to the afternoon tea for Thanksgiving. If you’ve been to the Empress, this location is nothing like that. The tea gets cold because there no candle warmer. The tea gets over steeped and bitter because there’s no tea timer or place to put the tea bag. They don’t bring fresh pots of tea, they only refill the bitter tea bags with more hot water. The food tasted a bit stale and you can see what you’re eating in the dark. The Thanksgiving offerings were not good. The food items are also not described (food runner doesn’t know what food is what). It’s loud and you’re in a dark room with a very low ceiling so it’s hard to talk. Honestly overall it wasn’t good and definitely not worth the value. It’s nothing like the experience that you get when you go to the Empress. Also no clotted cream?!"

"Overall great experience. Food is good and the restaurant is pretty. Good place for group meals; really liked that it wasn't too loud or crowded. The fish mapo tofu and the beef noodle soup were my favourites! Portions are a little smaller than expected, but it was still a great experience."

"During our lunch experience, it took an hour for our food to arrive and the waitress kept promising to get her manager to help, but nobody ever came. When our food finally came, she mentioned that the tickets weren't reaching the kitchen (even though other tables around us were receiving their food). We waited so long that by the time the food arrived, we had to ask for to-go boxes. I would have preferred to spend my money elsewhere, especially since it felt like I was paying just to sit there. While I understand that mistakes happen, I believe they should have comped something for us, but all we received was an apology."

"tried to come here around 9:50 PM on a saturday night. google says they close at 11 website says they close at 12. either way we showed up over an hour before they were going to close. there seems to be only one girl working and she looked at us sadly and said they were actually closing. not sure if she was lying or not so they didn’t have take another table, but if there is a last seating time or policy it should be posted."

"Amazing food and amazing service for most of the time we were there. Our waiter who had been exemplary throughout dinner dropped off menus for dessert and then didn’t reappear for at least 20 minutes and when he did it was to say the kitchen was about to close. What had been our intent to have dessert and coffee turned into just ending the meal. Been there many times times and both the restaurant and this particular waiter have always been amazing so we’ll just chalk it up to a one time slip"

"I came here for my birthday and had a great experience. Our server was very friendly and helpful. She took the time to explain menu items, give recommendations, was very friendly and attentive. I wish I could remember her name, but all I remember was that she had short blonde hair. I got the oysters and caviar. Both were amazing! "we loved eating in mirko pasta. we felt that the ambiente was a little strange; the place is small, but it looked like they had a different chain restaurant building than their own re-used so it didn't feel like a super authentic Italian place with respect to the dining room atmosphere, but that wasn't so much. that was amazing. everything tasted so delicious! we loved to create our own unique pasta dishes. they were full of taste and tasted so fresh. Even the brot we were served was something of the best sourded we had. they also had a nice selection of weeps to combine with our meals. our waiter was friendly and gave great service. I felt that their meals have rivaled some of the fancier Italian restaurants that we have been in the city. this place is our new place 1 for italiano. we will definitely come back!"

"My wife and I both did the 6 course tasting menu with sake parings. Of the 6 dishes, 4 were excellent, 1 was a total flop and one was so so . With a Kaiseki meal you expect the freshest, most unique dishes. The failure dish was their take on a A5 Wagu taco. Totally not in keeping with the Japanese theme. In Texas if you do a taco, you gotta beat some stiff competition! The so so dish was a flatbread pizza with truffle oil we felt this was a halfhearted effort you can get similar at many Italian restaurants. The other flour entrees were excellent and showed the scope of the chef 's abilities from salmon sushi to black cod, to a Wagu rib it was all perfection! I hope they will continue to refine this tasting menu as it is really special. Our waiter was a savant when it came to the sake parings giving us a lot of background on the different taste profiles. Really appreciated that! Oh, and the apple pie dessert was perfectly done. We had an enjoyable evening and I hope restaurants of this quality can continue to thrive."

"I like Westville ...always delicious food. However, this was my first and last visit to the compact Ave. A location. Have eaten at Westville many times but at Chelsea location only. Was in E. Village yesterday and so it was convenient to give this location a try. I was expecting same standard as Chelsea; only a few tables were occupied and so I figured we 'd be served pretty fast. Not so. We waited 45 minutes for our food. Evidently the place was overwhelmed with takeout orders several hundred ? we overheard and the dining room was literally packed not with fellow diners but with hungry takeout customers just standing about and impatiently waiting for their orders 'to go '. People surrounded our table just inches away, hovering about. It was really uncomfortable for us sitting at a table, to have these people lined up all around and glowering over us. Westville staff made no attempt to control the situation or shoo anyone outside, which is what they should have done. Two stars because our food was still good. However, service was non existent and the atmosphere just awful. Westville food and ambience should be great so just avoid this one and head to the other locations where they seem to know better what they 're doing."

"The Rigatoni was undercooked, still firm in the center. When we informed the server, they quickly removed the dish without any comment and returned moments later with the bill, omitting the Rigatoni with carbonara from our total. While I appreciated not being charged for it, my son was left without anything to eat. The Parpadelle sheets were all stuck together, and the Mare sauce was overloaded with chili flakes—my lips are still tingling from the heat. It’s disheartening to see a restaurant that was once known for its excellent pasta unable to cook it properly anymore. To improve, they need to hire more staff during peak hours so that the waitstaff can take their time to engage with customers and address their concerns effectively. Additionally, having a proper chef and manager present would help ensure the quality of the dishes served."

"Great Italian food at this local hang out. Cindy Adams from the New York post was dining in the restaurant when I was eating. She was sitting right next to me at the table near the bar. She was super nice and seem to enjoy the food there. The owner was very nice and was walking around making sure everyone was happy with everything. The food was the star of the show with the social crab being perfectly cooked and in season perfect. The chicken that my friends ordered was also amazing and it was all white meat with perfect seasoning and sauce. I normally don’t eat chicken with this chicken was perfectly done. Also came with amazing sausage which also I don’t eat but was also perfectly done. Also order a side of angel hair pasta with sauce and that was also amazing. For appetizer we had beans and shrimp which was also great. Basically nothing to not like in this restaurant. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to have the best Italian food on the reside"

"Not great! Had hopes because the website highlights a Chef, but I think he was off that evening. First of all, the Caesar salad was burnt and I 'm not even making that up. It is a grilled Caesar salad so don 't misinterpret that for a grilled chicken Caesar salad. Some advice, when the customer states they didn 't enjoy it because of the burnt flavor, don 't correct them and tell us to read the menu . I didn 't come to your establishment to be insulted, I came to enjoy myself and celebrate with my family. Your Caesar salad was a burnt stalk leaf of lettuce with crap on top of it. Why change a classic? How about get them accurate??? For example, I ordered lasagna and it looked like it was tossed onto the plate from a distance. It was small, it was splattered, and it had no appeal to it. I could 've gotten better out of a microwave and save myself the $28. Also, what 's with all the damn arugula? Back off and allow other lettuces to make an appearance... I spent over 20 yrs. in the culinary field in the military and when I tell you I wouldn 't serve their food to soldiers, I know what I 'm talking about. Will never go back."

"Favorite Shabu shabu! Been here multiple times because it is soo good! 5 dollar parking, just ask the front desk! Location: It is located in Flushing, it is in the second floor of the building. Lot of seating inside, been here 4x and we don’t need to wait. You can park on the parking garage on the same building and you pay only $5 for 3 hours. Ask the front desk. Service: they are very nice. Never had a problem with the employees here. Food: Everything was good. Huge variety of vegetables, mushrooms, rice cake , sauces and broths. I had all the broths and my favorite is PORK BONE and DASHI. The CHEESE RICE CAKE was my favorite! The meats are separate pay, and i like the BEEF RIBEYE and PORK BELLY. If you love seafood order the SEAFOOD COMBO. Lastly, get their GREEN TEA and VANILLA ICE CREAM, i usually get twice cause it was so good! Price rating: 6/10, it is not that bad for shabu shabu. Well I have been here 4x so definitely I will come back here! Best shabu shabu place for me!"
