"We have visited La Collina twice in the last 6 years. The first visit was prior to the name change just after the new owners purchased the business. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. I had hoped that after several years, there would have been improvements since their purchase. The hostess was kind and offered to take our coats, which was a hospitable gesture. However, when we were leaving, the hostess was not available, and we had to ask other staff members about our coats. I ended up having to walk to the back of the restaurant to retrieve our coats, which were hanging up by a rear entrance. Our martinis were only 2/3 full, and my drink was prepared incorrectly, so I had to send it back. Unfortunately, it was returned still only 2/3 full. We ordered Stracciatella soup, which was not good. The soup lacked sophistication in its preparation and was greasy. The texture resembled sawdust rather than the expected shredded egg and Parmesan cheese. For our main courses, my wife ordered the Linguine Nere allo Scoglio, which had insufficient seafood, and I had the Strozzapretti Norcina, which had very little Italian sausage. Both dishes were requested to be cooked al dente but turned out mushy and served luke warm. Despite these disappointments, the restaurant had a lively atmosphere, and our waiter was nice. "As someone who has been brought up in the restaurant industry it's a rarity that I will actually write a negative review even when it's warranted. Particularly when I live in the area. But my disgust with some of the customer service here numerous times is enough. This place hates having kids I have called for reservations and if I disclose I have kids with me I am consistently told they have no availability (this happened a few times already) so just to see our friends from out of town called 5 minutes later for the same time guest count and low and behold they had availability . Because of this we often call to order out from there now because this town has very limited options. Every time the same guy picks up I am told no we are too busy EVEN when I call two minutes after the restaurant opens. This is the same guy who lied about availability. He is always impolite when we walk in as well. As someone who worked in NYC as a waitress I 100% understand busy but rudeness is not OK. It's also not ok for the service to be mediocre and slow when it's not busy, which has happened twice to us at the bar. If it was not for the limited options I'd say I'd never give my business here again. But sadly that's not an option so they are able to get away with this inhospitable behavior. The table service is usually good at least but at this point I'd much rather drive further out and give my business elsewhere and get fantastic food. The guy who is the host and handles the phone calls (usually) needs to be trained in hospitable behavior. Even if you are in the weeds the customers and potential customers should never know. That is the mark of an excellent restaurant. People come back for a few reasons excellent food, excellent service or because options are limited. The press room is option 3. As this area grows if they don't adapt and better restaurant's come in they will fail. Also mind you anytime I call to order out or make a reservation and its' not him there are no issues. It's literally always him."

"I cannot believe I grew up so close to Pasta Max Cafe and am just now trying it! I came here on a weekend night and the place was packed! I can't remember if they take reservations or not, but if they do, I highly recommend making them, because the place was packed! The dining area is small, yet charming and intimate. The restaurant is locally owned and has been up and running for over 30 years. It is definitely a staple in Henry county. I love the complimentary bread service they offered. The rolls were light fluffy drizzled with olive oil and a touch of garlic. It was hard to eat just one, but I wanted to save room for my pasta entrée. There were several on the menu that I wanted to choose, but I selected Chicken Parmigiana dish. First of all, I was blown away by the portion sizes of their dishes. Their chefs are heavy-handed and you will definitely be leaving with leftovers. The piece of chicken I got was almost the size of my plate and the bowl was filled to the brim with pasta! Not to mention, the prices are very fair, especially in today's inflated market. The red sauce in my dish was unique to any red sauce I've tried before. I couldn't pinpoint what the special ingredient was, but it's definitely a standout taste in the sauce. I highly recommend any of the pastas that have red sauce. We also got the calamari appetizer that had the same yummy red sauce for dipping. The calamari was fresh, battered and fried well, and plenty was given for our table of three to share. We also ordered a large pepperoni pizza to see if their pies were as good as their pastas! Yep, they are, so I suggest ordering one of each for the table! Be sure to leave room for dessert because the tiramisu is to die for. Again, they give you a huge serving size of the cake and you can tell it's definitely homemade. This is some of the best tiramisu I've ever had, and I am very picky about my tiramisu. Last but not least, our service was outstanding. Even though the place was packed and only two servers working, they were on it! Our dishes came out quickly, food was hot, and drinks were refilled constantly. We were in and out at a reasonable time. I can't wait to go back and try some more of their food. If you are in the McDonough Square, make sure you choose this restaurant to dine at! You won't regret it, but only choose this place if you're hungry because you will be getting a lot of food!"
