"I placed an online order and went to pick it up. There are two side to the small counter, both well marked with multiple signs reading “order” and the one end and “pick up” at the other. The pickup side has multiple signs and also the signs for Grubhub and online order stuff. I showed up a little early then the latest pickup time and was waiting in the pick up area. The counter is small so I know the girl saw me, but it seemed like she was actively avoiding looking at me. I waited about ten minutes assuming she must know there’s nothing ready or something, and maybe that’s why she didn’t ask me my name for the order. But after I realized there was an order on the back counter I finally went to the order line to ask if it was mine since she didn’t seem to care to ask me. As I walked up she asked me “are you ready to order?”, I was so confused because I had clearly been waiting to pick something up. I stumbled for a second and was like “uh no I’m picking up an order, as I pointed to where I was standing waiting at the pick-up area. So if she DID think that whole ten minutes I was thinking of what I wanted, why the heck would you not go up to the customer and ASK. Ask if they need help, or ask if they are ready, or I don’t know maybe ask if they are ordering or waiting to pick up. And yes the bag that was behind her the whole time was mine. P. S. The place was not busy and not one person came in while we just stood there, we were the only people the counter. There was a guy picking something up when we first got there and we stood behind him, she gave him his food and walked back to the other side of the counter where the waiting began."

"Quaint cafe in the heart of a rustic town. I pass through this town once or twice a year and I must stop here to eat. As a single person, sitting at the coffee bar is the option because otherwise, waits to get tables for groups can be a half hour. Today, all I had to do was hear the three specials. Two were vegetarian and one was vegan. I also saw a Vegan Pumpkin Cheesecake in the dessert case. Did not have to look at the regular menu to decide the Spinach Artichoke Pie and Chili was the way I wanted to go (after I heard the chili was vegan they did not mention it until I told them I assumed it wasn't). These were technically two entrees so they came with a side and a scone. I ate these in house and took a Tomato Pie entree to go. With a Basil Mint (yogurt) smoothie, this vegetarian was happy. Perusing the menu online to add this cafe to Happy Cow, I noticed much more for vegetarians and vegans alike. My server was knowledgeable about vegetarian and vegan options, although not always labeled for easy determination, and she knew the difference between the two. I don't think you can go wrong by giving this place a try if you get the chance to. Just be cognizant, as we all usually must be, and ask if you have questions about ingredients. Wherever I go, I make sure the server knows I am vegetarian and that they know that means that chicken and fish are not vegetables despite what they may have heard. I am going to message this cafe as soon as I finish this review to urge them to label veg*n options because it would serve them and their customers better. If you visit here, maybe you will decide to inform them, too? Since 4 of 5 stars is the highest permissible rating, I went with 3 because I believe they could do better to communicate/label the veg options."

"Stayed at Nemacolin this past week for our anniversary and decided on Rockwell's over Aqueous. Service was fantastic. Very attentive and quick to offer help. It was a Monday night, but we made reservations anyway. There were maybe 10-12 other people in the restaurant and a couple at the bar. I had one of their Cabin Fever Old Fashioned which was excellent (what's not to love about bacon bourbon and chocolate bitters? and my wife got the basic Tito's and Cranberry. Ordered the Oysters Rockwell for a starter. They came out quickly and were very good. Biggest issue for the food was the main dishes. Neither of us are big eaters so we decided to split the wet-aged ribeye and a lobster tail with a side of boursin whipped potatoes. Well, when the potatoes are the star of the meal, there's an issue. I actually had to use a little salt which I can't recall ever doing at the table. Steak was served with an excellent béarnaise sauce, but was otherwise bland and tough (for medium rare?? . The lobster was nice-sized (8oz , but a bit rubbery. Again, though, the service was on point. Without asking our server had split the ribeye and the lobster and presented it on a plate for each of us. Which is a great touch, even if my wife ate 90% of the lobster and I ate most of the steak. Great ambience, very romantic, and, again, quiet as it wasn't busy. For the money and food, I do better at Monterey Bay in Pittsburgh or even Ruth's However, just walking thru the Chateau, though, to the restaurant you realize it was going to be a special night. The chandeliers and artwork are simply amazing. Just wish the mains were better. Going back in the fall to hit up Lautrec and/or Aqueous."
