"Small town rural Ontario does not always have a vast selection of dining choices. I wanted to surprise my daughter for her birthday and take her to a nice casual place for lunch. I found Hickories by accident while searching for restaurants in the Metcalfe area. The menu looked interesting and the golf course location was not too far from her home. We opted to sit in the patioporch area near the big oak tree. We were promptly greeted and ordered drinks before our menu selection. As an appetizer the Wonton Crunchies Duo were an excellent choice however I found the price a little steep. The Asian coriander pork stuffed crunchies were excellent; the buffalo chicken ones were forgettable. My main meal selection was Roast beef au jus with a garden salad. It was pretty good but the beef could have been sliced a little thinner. My daughter chose the Pulled Pork Sammie with a garden salad and she said it was excellent.As a nice surprise after our meal, our server brought us a duo of cakes for dessert: A delicious carrot cake with creamy icing and a chocolate cake; both were complimentary from Hickories and a thoughtful gesture on the part of the restaurant. I would definitely go back again; maybe to try breakfastbrunch next time"

"The Saltwater Grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu has been updated with new items, while preserving some of their best offerings - I swear the Shanghai Delight is laced with Prozac because I'm always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings, hoping the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish, which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crisp and carmelized but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I did miss the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something with substance, so I was quite disappointed when a little crock of crackers appeared instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was ok hearing my companions but certainly couldn't hear the server well."

"I visited this restaurant for the first time, and it was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, and the music was incredible—it truly transported me back to the 1990s with nothing but great tunes. The Chili Dog was flavorful and created an explosion of taste in my mouth. The Corn was also excellent. The only downside was the parking situation, but I will definitely be returning!"

"I had made a reservation for 7:30. It was my son's birthday. We also stayed at the River Crab hotel there . We were seated at 7:45 At 8:05 No one still had come to.our table. Had to ask for water and 8:15 a boy brought us water and said he would send over a waitress. 8:30 still no waitress Got up and told the hostess to please send a waitress. 8 :40 still no one. Every waitress passed out table like we were not even there. I.was so upset that we got up and left the restaurant and went somewhere else.to eat. There were 4 of us and my son's birthday was totally ruined!!!!!. I have never in my life treated so poorly at a restaurant. I will be sure to tell my friends of the horrible service we received. NO EXCUSE FOR THIS KIND OF SERVICE!!!!!!!!!"

"I went with a group for a birthday. It was the worst service any of us had ever experienced. Our waiter only took a couple of drink orders and then left for more than 20 minutes before we checked in to take the rest of the table order. For the food we had to tell him that we had to order. Then he took 4 orders, went away and didn't come back. When we got him to come back after telling several other workers we needed to complete the order, he forgot that he had taken the first orders. He finally took a few more orders and went, again not to every person at the table. It took 2 hours in total and the food came out at all different times. We were all honestly very confused about what was happening throughout our dinner."

"I really like this bagel joint. The quality of bagels ? are always consistent and made with high quality ingredients. The other thing I like is that it's Kosher so I can enjoy a coffee ? and breakfast with my Jewish friends without having to have them compromise on their dietary restrictions. I love the variety of fresh made cream cheese and various toppings you can add such as smoke salmon ? I usually prefer jalapeños flavor with a sweet bagel. If you have NOT tried it, you should and thank me later ? It would have been 5* but coffee here is not so great atleast for me so I am giving it a 4 out of 5."

"I recently dined at Cafe Red for the second time in a few months and once again had a great experience. The restaurant was busy on a Friday night, but the noise level was manageable, allowing for conversation. The service was good, but the standout was the delicious food. I particularly enjoyed the fig salad and the salmon, which I ordered for the second time. My girlfriend loved the lasagna, and our friends enjoyed their pounded pork chop. Cafe Red has been a local favorite in Kings Park for many years, and after my dinner there, I can see why."

"Jerico's has been our point of contact for special occasions for years. Unfortunately, this time has not fulfilled all of our previous experiences. Usually the fillets (Knight's Cut) are incredibly tasty and tender. This time they were barely seasoned and had to be sent back to reach the medium kitchen we requested. This information was shared with both the hostess and our server. While the hostess offered to put another steak on the grill, we didn't want that as it would have been wasteful as we wouldn't be able to eat it then and we wouldn't be able to eat it at home in time. That being said, the only response / action was to say that you and our server are sorry. We will continue to recommend Jerico's, but also warn."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I'm from NC originally but have been in Michigan the last 5 years. One thing that I can't get, that I miss so much is Liver Pudding or Liver Mush as some people call it. Someone told me to go to Eddie's Place and they DID NOT disappoint. When I say that I had the best breakfast that I've had in 5 years.....!!!!!! I couldn't stop smiling, I savored every bite and this made my 18 hour trip home worth it. It was cooked PERFECTLY and my egg whites were AWESOME as well!! You've got a new customer!"

"Erin and I had brunch here Friday while I was taking her back to school after a dentist visit.  We got there about 1030.  Erin had a burrito with extra chili.  It was very good, I tried it.  It was too big for her to finish. I had a pork chop that had been "breaded" with hash browns.  I thought it might be odd, but it was very good.  The chop was just juicy enough, and very tasty.  It came with three eggs (over easy) and biscuits and gravy.  It was great!  I didn't leave a scrap.  The iced tea was pretty good.  Service was excellent.  Our check was $23.76.  I wish that ATC was open in the evening. billhensley.wordpress.com"

"Our server had a noticeable attitude throughout our visit and didn’t check on us at all. It felt like she might have been upset that we didn’t order cigars or something else, but her demeanor made the experience uncomfortable. When we wanted to make a small change to our order just a couple of minutes after deciding, she wouldn’t allow it. The server was a mixed-heritage woman with black hair and a fuller figure, but I can’t recall her name. This was my first visit, and it’s likely my last. The burgers were the highlight of the menu, especially after sending mine back to be cooked well. I had heard that the atmosphere here was great, and it seemed nice, but the service really set a negative tone for us. Also, be aware that they serve their burgers medium by default and automatically add a gratuity, even for a party of just two."

"What a fantastic brunch spot! Every meal we had was absolutely delicious. The drinks were refreshing and perfect for getting that brunch buzz going. The atmosphere had a laid-back vibe, and all the staff we interacted with were friendly and enjoyable. It's a great place for a girls' brunch, where we could savor delicious food and drinks. I highly recommend this spot for a wonderful time and tasty fare—I will definitely be returning. The manager was incredibly welcoming, and our server was great too. "This restaurant in La Jolla is our favorite. Chef Maeve's bakery and restaurant are top-notch. The staff is wonderful and the food and pastries are exceptional. We appreciate being able to dine with our dogs on the terrace while still receiving excellent service. We have never been let down by anything here. The Guinness stew, shepherd's pie, chicken smolts, BLAT sandwich, brioche French toast, traditional breakfast, and endless pastries are all incredible. "The restaurant was about one third full upon our arrival. The noise level of the music was so loud it was difficult for us to hear our waiter and he us. The service was particularly slow. We sat with empty bottles and glasses at our table. When ordering and receiving a bottle of beer and glass of wine our empties were left on the table. Someone did stop and ask how our meal was. However she did not clear the table. The grilled cheese was delicious!"

"We stopped here for a quick dinner with the kiddos and was pleasantly surprised by the value and quality of the food we got. Our waitress was Kristine and she was nice and quick. We were seated right away and the restaurant is kid friendly with a doodle sheet and kids menu. We were served with bread and soft butter for the table shortly after seating. The kids menu came with a drink and ice cream and prices ranged between $4-8. We ordered Mac n cheese and speghetti and meatballs for the kids. The apple juice that came with the meal was a nice size cup, not those small kids cups. The dishes were also big enough to have leftovers. The Mac n cheese is ziti with a white cream sauce, not the Craft box Mac n cheese. My kid liked it. As for the speghetti and meatballs, the meatballs were the big size meatballs, so it was plenty for my daughter. For entrees, we ordered White clam sauce with fettuccine and calamari with spicy marinara sauce. They came with soup or salad. The food was decent, but nothing to rave about... 3 stars for the food, but overall experience and value earned this place another star. Nice place for a family meal (with plenty of leftovers) that won't break your bank!"
