"My family and I love McAlister's, definitely a go to restaurant with a wide variety of food for everyone. I got the Southwest Chicken Salad and there was a little beetle in it, nothing too serious (I'm sure it landed in there while it was sitting out).They were super nice about it and switched it out for me and gave me a refund. I recommend it to anyone. They also have glutenfree options(like bread for the clubs), so that's a plus."

"My wife and I went to this place for lunch, even though I felt they are very over priced. The service, much like the food, was terrible. It was at least 7-8 minutes before we were acknowledged and we were the only ones in line. The cashier was extremely low energy and had a bitter disposition. My wife ordered a garden fresh turkey sandwich which should have been called a drowned turkey sandwich because it was swimming in oil and vinegar. She only ate the two thin slices of turkey and left the soggy bread on the plate. My culinary nightmare began with a half a French dip and potato soup. The sandwich consisted of a thick dried out piece of bread that was complimented by two paper thin pieces of roast beef which were also dry and tasteless. No cheese I guess they forgot). The picture is NOT what they are serving. The soup was so watered down that it tasted like water and sadness. No salt, no flavor and no potato. There were three shards of cheddar and a piece of very old bacon on top, which contributed in no way to the flavor. Not to mention everything arrived at the table ice cold. So after paying 35 dollars to this disgruntled employee we recieved absolutely nothing of value. Save your money and eat somewhere, anywhere else.Parking: very tight"

"I absolutely loved this restaurant during my time working in Illinois. I haven't come across one in Pittsburgh or the nearby areas yet. While on a two-month vacation, I stumbled upon this place and knew I had to try it. I ordered the large Italian sandwich, while my daughter opted for the club, and both were delicious. I also highly recommend the mac and cheese and the sweet tea. I will definitely be coming back before I leave."

"This was the first time that I have actually dined in here although they've catered us at work plenty of times. The food is great. Always fresh and always a lot! Dined in this time. You have the option of ordering at the counter or ordering by app at your table and someone will bring it to you. It's tucked away in a small shopping strip mall. Good parking. Nice and quiet area. I highly recommend if you want a casual, quiet place with great food. UPDATE 10/15/21. Had dinner here again. My son's first time. We had a wonderful, fresh, healthy dinner. Lots of options, including my favorite, 1/2 sandwich with bowl of soup. If you're in the area, definitely give them a try."

"04/02/22 It was my first time eating here, so I ordered a sandwich that I hoped would remind me of something my German grandmother used to cook: the Horseradish Roast Beef. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical that it would even remotely taste like Gramma's cooking, so I didn't have high expectations at all. The friendly waitress brought a decently sized sandwich and set it before me. I bit into it and was pleasantly surprised: the meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful; the bread was soft and fresh; the flavor was outstanding! The horseradish was just strong enough to be noticed, but not so strong as to overpower the other flavors a balance that is quite challenging to do with the ground root condiment. The atmosphere was enjoyable, the service was good, and the food was delicious. VERDICT: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"

"Please consider hiring more staff. We visit this restaurant every Sunday, but this will be our last time. The woman in the back making sandwiches was incredibly slow, and it felt like we were waiting forever. I felt sorry for the cashier who was running back and forth between the drive-thru and the front to get food; he was fit and quick, doing his best in a tough situation. With only two workers, the service simply can't keep up. I saw many people leave because the line was too long. There was also one employee sitting down the entire time; I'm not sure if he was on a break or waiting to clock in, but we were there for two hours and he remained seated the whole time."

"The worst pickup experience ever. I checked into their curbside service and waited for over 30 minutes! They were busy so I figured that might have something to do with it I was wrong. My order was ready BEFORE my pickup time (it’s printed on the recipe). I called the store and was immediately placed on hold for FIVE minutes until I hung up and called back. They said they would look for my order, placed the phone down, and then just hung up. No apologies once they brought the food out. By this time my soups and sandwiches were cold and my tea was incorrect. Safe to say we are never going back."

"Very clean restaurant. Friendly staff that was helpful why we deciphered menu. It was our first time. Cabaitta bread was so soft and absolutely delicious. It tasted like it was made fresh before we walked in. The whole family was very pleased with their meals. I will say I prefer Jason's Deli only for salad bar and the self-serve drinks.. but besides that, McCallisters ranked really high. I will definitely be back. "McAlister’s Deli has recently undergone a renovation and now boasts a modern and appealing look. The dishes are quite enjoyable, with a diverse selection that includes soups, salads, sandwiches, and spuds. I particularly appreciate the option to mix and match with their “Choose Two” combo. The McAlister’s Famous Sweet Tea is fantastic and served in a generously sized container. Moreover, the beverage dispensers are conveniently located at the front counter, allowing you to refill your drinks easily. The menu is displayed on the wall, and the staff is very helpful. When you dine in, they provide you with a table number and deliver your order directly to your table. One downside is that they still do not offer free WiFi. There is plenty of parking available, especially since they have a corner spot. Don't forget to download the app to earn rewards or place a mobile order!"

"Been going here for awhile…never had any problems. I order some broccoli with my meal. It comes out dark and not fresh. I asked to get another and it comes out the same way. Only hotter. The girls at the front desk were laughing amongst themselves like it was funny. Manager just kinda have a look when I had to return food. After a 3rd attempt it’s looks a lot better. Will more than likely b my last time at this location specifically. Never seen people who laugh at unsatisfactory food."

"We did not have a good experience. The restaurant had a weird smell when we walked in which should have been our hint to leave. Our food sat up at the counter for 20 mins before they brought it out to us so our sandwiches were cold. My husband sent his back, and they made a new one but he didn?t want to eat it after we saw the cleanliness of the place. Our napkin holder was covered in dirt, dust and hair. The tables felt like they hadn?t been wiped down and they had a sticky residue. Will not come back to this one. I recommended the other McAlister?s deli in Bartlet down the road. It was way nicer."

"Enjoyed my first visit to McAlister’s Deli. This location is connected to Castleton Mall so parking is a little crazy on a Saturday evening. Very friendly cashier who was helpful and answered questions. I took my cashier’s suggestion and had the Choose 2 option with half a Savannah salad (with Sherry Shallot dressing) and the Spud Max. Both were very good, but I actually enjoyed the salad the most. I would come back again just to eat a full sized version of this salad and dressing. Pricing isn’t too bad. For three of us to eat and drink, it was just over $30. Food shown pictured: My meal: 1/2 Savannah Salad and Spud Max Meal 2: 1/2 Southwest Cobb and Spud Max Meal 3: Club Sandwich and Macaroni and Cheese side"

"Was excited to visit this location for the first time. The cashier (Kristina was nice, patient and helpful. The restaurant was also nice and clean. The kitchen staff were loud and very chatty with one another (about the customers waiting inside the kitchen and walked in and out getting drinks and going to the restroom while there were several tickets up and customers waiting and picking up orders. I heard one man from the kitchen ask why are they standing there? and the guy expediting the orders answered they are waiting on food . The expeditior had several customers orders sitting in the corner instead of passing them out. Myself and others had to walk up to the counter to ask for orders that were ready but being stored in the corner to get cold. I waited for 25 minutes . The manager that was present never came over to assist or try to speed along the process. Looking into the kitchen, several of the staff were looking out into the lobby commenting on pretty women coming in and out instead of preparing orders. I believe this is the culture at this location, so I would try a different location for better and faster service. Food was good but prepared rather sloppy. Kristina our cashier was the only good thing about our visit."

"So I get it's Sunday and everyone wants to go home but closing the salad barover an hour and a half before close seems lame. Maybe it's your policy. I had been craving Jason's salad bar for weeks finally get a chance to stop by and it was completely broke down at 8:20 pm when they close at ten. I never want to be that guy that comes in right before close if I go somewhere and it's almost close I will tell them thank you and leave but an hour and half before close it would have been nice to be able to enjoy the salad bar."

"First worst experience, will not be back. Waited 37 minutes in the drive through, and when I get up to the window to pay the lady says “you had kids meal?” I said uhh no.. She says “ok that lady must have drove off, ok what did you have?” I only remembered that I ordered a half a sandwich and soup but didn’t know the names because I don’t come to McAllisters, so I told her that I ordered a half sandwich and soup and she said “$15.52” I asked if it is usually around a 35+ minute wait as I don’t come here but want to know that way I can plan accordingly in the future since I’ve spent my entire lunch break and then some in their drive thru and she said “$15.52”. I then asked if they always charge full price after their customers wait almost 40 minutes with their cars idling for food, and she said “yes, $15.52.” So I handed her my card and let her know that I would like a receipt. I waited a few more minutes for my card to be brought back to me, as she brought it to the front of the restaurant to run it, and she did return a few minutes later with my card and receipt as well as my half sandwich, soup, and large iced tea (which the ice had almost completely melted in). I called after leaving the drive thru and pressed 3 to speak with a member of management and the same woman from the drive thru answered the call and immediately said “please hold” and put me on hold. She came back to the line and said “how can I help you” and before I could even say a word she hung up. Definitely not an experience that I would say is worth $15.52, and in the future I will not invest 40 minutes in their drive thru for that kind of service. My sandwich was lukewarm and my soup is a gelatinous coagulated consistency- Would not recommend.McAllisters: I know that this review will probably get the same canned-air response that you comment on every poor review, so please don’t feel the need to waste your time!"

"The food is always freshly made to order, and both the cashiers and chefs are incredibly friendly! I tried the loaded spuds, which came topped with bacon, ham, turkey, olives, extra cheese, chives, and sour cream—it was absolutely delicious! "I was really excited when I saw deli, but when I came in, it was another chain closer to a panera brot or corner baker only less character. I ordered the reuben when I had believed one for a few days. what they served was the sad echo of a reub. I hope they don't have ny stands because it won't take long. also a lemon that was pretty good and finally there are chocolate chip cookies. too many chocolate chips. the taste was a bit off as if they did not use enough salt when baking and then it was hard as if it was on the edge of the quiet. I was hoping that would be a regular stop for me, but now I'm going to doubt that I'm coming back."
