"My husband and I visited Duck House for the first time this Valentine's Day. We both love Peking Duck, and we've been hearing about how amazing Duck House is for quite some time now. We made a reservation, and made sure to say in the notes that we wanted to order a duck. They need hour notice for the duck, but if you put it in the reservation it will be ready for your table about minutes after arrival. The food was outstanding. We got the duck, the baby bok choy with bamboo, the mini buns, and some fried rice. The duck was hands down the best either of us has ever had. The service was a little slow, but they were SO busy and it was Valentine's Day... so we totally understood. We sat out on their patio, and were literally fawning over every bite. I can't recommend this place enough. SO GOOD"

"Happy Easter. This is my second time here. It left an impression the first time and had to come back and enjoy another delicious meal. The entrance already sets the tone as you enter the property. The pond with red rocks and the trees surrounding it gives it an amazing feeling of peace and tranquility. I love the fu dogs at the entrance and even lovelier with the amethyst stone at the front counter and waiting area. The decor is nice and eye catching. The dragons are magnificent as well. Of course, I am bias because I love anything to do with Asian culture and art. We had an attentive waitress and she did her best to serve us. My friend couldn't get her taste buds with the beverages and she ended up with just lemon water. So happy the waitress was patient with us. It makes a difference in the world. It was appreciative and that says a whole lot for the restaurant itself. We ordered sesame chicken with fried rice and mixed vegetables with garlic sauce and fried rice. We ended up sharing with each other. It was filling and delicious ? ? ?."

"This restaurant has always held a special place in our family’s heart since my children were young, and now that they’re visiting again, it’s just as wonderful. The food is consistently good, and the service is excellent. It's a lovely, quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. One of my favorite dishes is the ginger beef. After the lockdowns, it was fantastic to return, and I even managed to visit again just two days before the second round of restrictions began, this time with a friend. Dining out can sometimes feel less personal, but it's so gratifying to sit in a restaurant and share a meal together."

"The food was average. I went with a group of ladies, and they mentioned that the salad was quite good. However, the egg drop soup was bland and didn't compare to others I've had. The vegetable dish was excellent, while the other dishes were just okay and lacked the rich flavors I'm accustomed to with Chinese cuisine. The egg rolls were enjoyable. Overall, I would rate it a 3.7."

"TL;DR: Wrong order, poor service, long wait time, hidden 20% surcharge We used to love Serai and dined here frequently, and I usually do not post negative reviews. While the food was still delicious, our last experience at Serai was quite disappointing. 1) It took them 45 minutes after we placed our order to receive our food. Other tables that were seated after us received their food much more quickly. 2) Ordering food was a hassle. We ordered the sambal eggplant (one of our old favorites) and rendang shrimp. We received a shrimp dish which we thought was our rendang shrimp and after confirming with the server that it was rendang shrimp. But after eating it, we realized it was sambal shrimp. We sent it back with half a plate full so we could receive our sambal eggplant and the server said he would “fix it right away”. The eggplant never came, and we were charged for it. When we tried to get the charge removed, the server replied “well you ate it”. 3) Without telling you on their menu or website, they tack on a 20% service surcharge when you get your bill. With the long wait time, wrong food, getting charged for a dish we didn’t eat, and the 20% automatic surcharge, our favorite Malaysian restaurant sadly has now become a place we will not visit again."

"Ordered a range of items, Roti Canai and Roti Telur were gobbled up, vegetable fried rice was backup for the youngest eaters and appreciated, Satay chicken had no leftovers and generous peanut sauce dip, really enjoyed the beef brisket curry noodle soup. Order was ready very quickly. Dietary restrictions: They called out that one dish had peanuts in it. Appreciate that."

"I have been here a few times and have not been disappointed. It is a fairly busy restaurant so go early on friday and the weekend if you want to avoid waiting for a long time. I went again today(Wednesday) and weekdays are pretty full too. You can watch them make roti in the middle of the restaurant. That being said, you must order their Roti. It comes piping hot and crispy. Love their tofu dishes such as sizzling tofu and pretty much all of the other tofu dishes here. Volcano short ribs is similar to a sweet and sour rib. So far I have like everything."

"Okay this place is a hidden gem. Tucked into a back alley behind home depot. My partner found it online looking for Malaysian places and we figured we'd give it a shot. I was really pleasantly surprised Place was pretty hoppin' but we got seated fast. Service had a little lag sometimes, like our main dishes came out but we had to wait a few minutes for rice. Food was stellar. The roti was delicious and the curry sauce was so good! We also got the chicken rendang, Malaysian tofu platter, and mi gorengnoodles. Chicken rendang was so tender and flavorful! The tofu platter was my favorite, just such a yummy sauce, super softtofu, fresh veggies, soft egg, yum yum. The mi goreng noodles were also delicious, not my favorite but no complaints, justeverything was really good."

"As a Filipina who has been living in the United States for five years, I recently had my first experience at Max in the U.S. and it truly reminded me of home. There were a few areas that could use improvement; for instance, the soup should be served piping hot, as mine arrived lukewarm. Additionally, it would be better to serve the dishes all at once rather than one by one, especially for smaller tables. I had a reservation around 7 PM, but I was disappointed to find that they had run out of a few items I was looking forward to since I drove all the way from Westchester. Despite these setbacks, my overall experience was good. The service was attentive and the staff were courteous."

"We arrived 10 minutes early and they sat us in a dark corner by the bathrooms and backdoor. There was a constant draft flowing. We asked to be seated in the main dining room and were told there was no room. However, we looked and there were several open tables. We were told those were reserved and I reminded them we had made our reservations 4 weeks prior Our waiter, Nick, was excellent and the food was good. Unfortunately, it was a very uncomfortable dining experience."

"We visited this restaurant for the first time and ordered orange chicken and chicken chow mein with soft noodles. Unfortunately, it was quite a disappointing experience. The orange chicken tasted like something you would find in the frozen section at Walmart. The chow mein was acceptable but rather bland. When I requested a to-go box for my chow mein, the waiter responded, “If you wanted the noodles, you should have ordered the lo mein.” I hadn’t complained about my meal and knew exactly what I had ordered, so his comment felt rude and unnecessary."

Keep in mind, this is not your typical Chinese restaurant, and the prices reflect that. A note on attire: there is no formal dress code, but you might feel a bit out of place if you come in shorts, a t-shirt, or a hat. It’s a classy venue, and it just makes sense to dress the part when you’re dining here!"

"Good and friendly service. I had pancit bihon guisado which tasted good but was heavy on the noodles and short on the other ingredients. For the amount of noodles there needed to be more of the meats and whatever else goes in that dish.I also had a halo halo and it was great. I dined in and they served the halo halo in a clear plastic cup with a long plastic spoon. They told me they didn’t have any glass to serve it in and I had to ask twice for a metal spoon. I don’t like having to ask twice. I explained to them that the plastic spoon is uncomfortably sharp feeling in my mouth. A metal spoon has smoother and less sharp edges.I don’t really have a reason to visit this restaurant again."

"Soon after it first opened up, I used to go to Rangetsu every Friday after work for an excellent happy hour in an impressively chic and unique bar atmosphere. I never had any complaints (partly because I rarely complain. I went last Saturday night with two of my girlfriends, telling them how fantastic the place is and it was the worst dining experience we've had in...almost ever. It wasn't very busy at all and we had a reservation for the regular dining room (not cocktail . The food was excellent, so I gave that 5 stars. If I could have given negative stars for service, I would have. The server was extremely off putting I've never had a server manage to be so rude while saying so little. She never greeted us, never brought us water, only brought 2 of our 3 cocktails, never brought us our appetizers, condiments, refills, or check (among other things . After waiting a remarkable amount of time for each, we finally had to ask the kitchen runner for any of those things. All of our appetizers came out after our sushi rolls, One of the apps we ended up sending back because we received it as we were receiving our check (which she didn't bring, even though it had been sitting on the bar for over 20 minutes. We had to go pick it up ourselves. The other servers around us looked like they were doing a great job just not ours. She was probably in her late 40s, but I would honestly guess she'd never served a table before. The manager made eye contact with everyone at our table multiple times as he was standing a few feet away keeping an eye on the dining room, and never once came over, even though it was painfully obvious that we were having issues. Again, the food is great, and I have a soft spot in my heart for this place, but I can only assume they changed management since the last time I had gone there. We were there for over 2 hours for a simple sushi dinner. When we left, I still hadn't gotten the drink menu I'd asked for in the beginning."
