"You know, food is not bad, like everywhere else seems to be getting less. But, the biggest thing is customer service, the girl you have up front, seriously, could she make it any more obvious she does not want to be there ? I mean, I have heard of resting B& %h face, but this is a whole other level. It's like what do you want- here is price-inside or out- heres number Watched her with other customers after us, facial expression never changed. I could understand one time, even two, but the last 3 times we have been in over the past two weeks, wow. She just stands there, speaks when spoken too, a nice hello or welcome isnt that hard to do. I get, maybe you think you are better than this job, but they are paying you to be nice to their customers, fake a smile if you can't give a real one. I can tell you, if she is at the counter, we will eat next door. We enjoy the food, but I can go elsewhere and at least have someone do the minimum to greet us with a hello. It's sad when Taco Bell gives better service"

"First time in, and an amazing experience. We used a few coupons which slowed things down but no one ever got upset...not even other customers. Staff was super friendly, went above and beyond for us really. Food was great! I like how it's tacos and burritos but they also have chicken strips for picky kids (1 of ours did get them, lol) Definitely better than chipotle based on flavor, not sure if you can add extras to make it physical comparable to Chipotle, but I'll go here again for sure, Ch lost our business the first time we went! And the shrimp!!! I literally can't compliment enough about our visit!"

"5/5, 100/100. Not a thing out of place. Perfect service, they asked me if I needed help right when I walked in. Accommodated to my modification needs perfectly. They didn’t let my food get stolen(like other places with easy pickup stations) which means they have adequate staffing. Restrooms are kept perfectly clean and well stocked, with even a coat rack and a urinal to prevent mess. Tidy eating areas. Chefs that pay attention and make the order properly.I am not keto but I love that they offer the switch to keto tortillas for free, as they are tastier and prevent me from having constipation from wheat and corn starch.Dietary restrictions: Keto cheese tortillas, very tasty and low carb"

"I recently tried the fish taco especial at Rubio's and was pleasantly surprised by the large, juicy pieces of fish. Despite some difficulties finding the restaurant, the unique layout of the shopping center made it convenient to access Rubio's both from inside and outside the mall. "I love the food! It was so fresh and healthy for a restaurant with many options for those with food sensitivity. But even more amazing was the sweet helpful and super friendly and thoughtful young woman who works behind the register. I never had such a wonderful caregiver help me order! She was patient and understood my daughters food sensitivities. It's like she put herself in my shoes! I wish I remember her name because she deserves an increase! Thanks Rubio for a great experience!"

"Fast casual dining. They specialize in fish and seafood tacos. They have good specials on Tuesday. $6.99 for a fish, shrimp, and Mahi taco. Or $1.49 for a regular fish taco, $2 for a special fish taco. Excellent prices for the La Jolla area. Good salsa bar. Green sauce tastes tangy and a little spicy. Red sauce is thick like pasta sauce and sweet. I'm taking off a star because they use their bare hands to prepare the food."

"My coworker was going to do a lunch run to Rubio's and offered to pick something up for me. I took her up on her offer but since I was going to eat in my office, I figured I'd not get fish in case it was smelly, so I picked a California Bowl with chicken boy, what a big mistake that was. Unfortunately, it wasn't very good at all! The chicken was really dry, the rice was supposed to be a citrus rice, but it was just white rice, everything was very bland, the guac had no seasoning and I didn't understand the purpose of sprinkling lettuce in the bowl ?? The lettuce was very random I would take a bite of rice and beans, and would get a stray leaf of lettuce. It just didn't seem to work. If I wanted a salad, I would have ordered a salad.But I can't complain too much because I really shouldn't have had too high of an expectation from a fish place serving chicken. Lesson learned, I should just stick to fish tacos if I go to Rubio's."

"I've visited different Rubio's locations over the years and i don't remember it being like this. I ordered a Lobster Bowl, A large drink, A Burrito and a Fish Taco and it was nearly $40 dollars. It becomes a really tough decision to continue visitingplaces like this or just going to a restaurant that is like $20 dollars more. The fish taco is still delicious but the LobsterBowl was underwhelming. I will probably visit again soon just to give them another chance. Rubio's holds a special place in myheart and I wish them the best."

"I'm a big fan of the Grilled Chicken Gourmet Tacos and The Original Fish Tacos. Today, I decided to try the California Burrito at Rubio's, but it didn't impress me. I'm giving it four stars because the chips often taste stale, as if they were from yesterday's batch. When I order a side of chips, I expect them to be fresher. The salsa bar was closed, so I had to pay $1.00 for pico de gallo. The location in Santee has a lovely terrace with plenty of outdoor seating. However, I noticed that some of the staff behind the counter weren't wearing aprons or name tags, which felt a bit strange. Overall, the restaurant seems clean and inviting. I will definitely come back, especially since this is my first visit since the pandemic."

"The food at Rubio's is quite good. I ordered the shrimp tacos and street tacos, and they certainly didn’t skimp on the meat. I requested a swap from guacamole to sour cream without any hassle. My only complaint is that there was no clean silverware available, and the soda machines were out of ice. Despite several employees being informed about the ice issue, it remained unaddressed. Overall, though, the food was really enjoyable."

"I 'm a very serious taco ???? guy, I had been across the street in a Chinese Pho zone is cash only dining, which I don 't care for...so hidden away next to Walmart is this place. I 've never been, it takes me a few minutes as the kid didn 't take myorder but gave me a drink cup...I don 't really understand as I 've got to use the restroom wash my hands...I was given theWRONG code ??! First visit, their Menu is very large and my stepdaughter used to work at a different one I decided on a 3 tacoplate w guacamole as something the trucks don 't really offer These were quite small and there wasn 't a lot of guacamole,the plate came w beans cheese in ridiculously small portions...good but 3 fork fulls was a serious ???? let down. About thattime I realized why they put 3 different types of salsa as I 'd ordered their sampler plate, I don 't eat green tomatoes sothat 's one you 'll want to try for yourself. The meat was OK, somewhat chewy w some decent flavor, just quite small for $10 orderit 's NOT a good bargain...tacos are $2 here around town ???? Overall it was disappointing plus I stopped at the VFW to buy 2more tacos ???? as I was still very hungry just 2hrs after...you won 't be seeing me at Rubio 's ever again The prices werehigh/ portions crazy small but it 's dead with maybe 6 other diners but there 's 4 employees who are sitting around on the clock? doing nothing...perhaps this explains the problem of no food for $10°°?"

"I typically love rubios and all other locations have been really good to me but at this one, I am extremely unsatisfied as a customer. I 've placed a phone order here in the past and it took 30 minutes (once I arrived) to have my food ready (phone orderwas placed 30 mins prior to arriving) and I didn 't say anything because I thought, hmm I bet their just having a rough day. I 've worked in the food industry and I know what it can be like... but now I 'm saying something. I came here tonight at 8:34pm(they close at 9) and was turned away because their backed up yet again. It 's really disappointing when u tried to call in urorder 30 mins ago and no one answered (to give them a head start). I will not be returning here. I don 't know what has to changeat this location, but I hope it does for future customers."

"However, I did have one significant concern that impacted my overall impression. The ceilings appeared quite dirty, which unfortunately gave the restaurant a somewhat unclean vibe. It's disappointing because the food and service were great, but management really needs to address the cleanliness of the ceiling panels to improve the atmosphere. I found myself staring at the area around the vents, wondering if those were being serviced or cleaned at all. If they can enhance cleanliness in that regard, I would definitely consider coming back for another meal. For now, I'm giving it a solid four stars, but I believe they can work on these issues and earn another star from me!"
