"Fantastic Restaurant! We have wanted to eat here for a while and every time we thought of it, when we called for reservations, there was nothing available for weeks. This time, we made a reservation for a Saturday evening, but made the reservation over a month before we wanted to dine there. Yes, you need to plan ahead and reserve that early! It 's worth the wait. We arrived on time for our 6pm reservation and were seated immediately at our inside table. There is seating inside and outside in a large tent on the patio. My son and I each had the Golden Age cocktail $14 , which had a very good taste. It is made from Japanese Whiskey, Lillet Blanc, Apple, Chamomile, Lemon, Drambuie, and Soda. It was garnished with a sprig of purple statice flowers for decoration. My wife initially wanted a piña colada, but the bartender did not have either the ingredients or a blender. So, he came over to our table and discussed with my wife to see what kind of custom cocktail that he could make for her. She told him what she liked and did not like she does not like drinks with a strong alcohol taste, but likes sweeter liqueurs . The bartender, Jason, who is a master cocktail maker, took up the challenge to create a drink just for her; he said that there would be no charge if she did not enjoy it. He came back with a sweet drink make with Kettle One Vodka, Elderflower liqueur, muddled mint, honey, and some other ingredients. It was served in a special windmill china container. It was the perfect taste for my wife and she enjoyed it immensely. Our congratulations to Jason who created the perfect custom cocktail for her! For our first course, I had the Mushroom Soup with white truffle oil $7 . The serving was small, but it was extraordinary! I highly recommend it. My wife and son had salads Mixed Greens $8 and Caesar Salad $8 , which were good but not as good as my soup! . We also enjoyed an order of Brussels Sprouts $7 , which were delicious, with seared outsides and tender insides, and flavorful. For our main course, my wife had the Nick 's on Main Salmon $28, with Lemon Risotto, Sautéed Asparagus and Fava Beans, Dungeness Crab Beurre Blanc , which was very flavorful and tender. My son and I each had the Duck Confit $25, with Herb Polenta Cake, Sautéed French Beans and Crispy Pancetta, Caramelized Onions, Port Wine Cherries which was delicious, tender, moist, and a taste sensation when you had a bit of all the ingredients in every bite. For dessert, we had the Bread Pudding $8 , which was accompanied with a very good vanilla ice cream scoop and a delicious sauce. Very good! Interestingly, other than my son having salad where I had soup, he seemed to order everything that I did. Nice that he was emulating his father! ... : The service initially was perfect and attentive. Things happened without having to ask. Later on, I had to ask for more water, where earlier, the water glasses were refilled before we noticed that they needed refilling. The service overall was very good. The pacing was perfect. Our meal took an hour and a half from being seated to departing, which was just the perfect pace. It is so refreshing to find a quiet restaurant where you can have a conversation with everyone at the table without fighting ambient noise. There are no televisions, which is great; after all, why distract people with television when there is great conversation to be had at the table. I 'm so glad to find a restaurant that takes care to put noise absorbing decor including noise absorbing panels on the ceiling and doesn 't have television! This restaurant is located in downtown Los Gatos off of Main Street which is not the main street on a side street College Avenue . There is a small parking lot behind at the end of the block. I highly recommend this restaurant."

Great food and service. Love the focaccia bread, Dungeness crab martini, and duck confit. Mix berry salad, pork chop, and salmon were also good. Feels like I can order anything on the menu and be satisfied. Sit outside.

Excellent place, super cozy and romantic environment, incredible service and taste is phenomenal! Please try the Baby Back Ribs!! They will appreciate their wine selection. The Rib Eye was close to perfection. A little expensive, but it's worth it.

Had a great dinner here last night. Had no reservations but was able to get bar seating within a reasonable time. Started off with a glass of Louis Roderer champagne since it is my Bday week. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and the food was good and the cocktails from the bar were great. The portions are very hearty, so bring an appetite or share your food with others. I had the Dungeness crab martini with avocado toast. The crab was plentiful and buttery and the toast was a good base for enjoying it. For my entree, I got the aged rib eye, the meat was great as were the brussel sprouts. I was not a big fan of the bone marrow though. It was seemed like they mixed...

I absolutely love this place and will be back the next time I'm home from college. The service is amazing. Everyone is very attentive. Our server, Brian, was absolutely phenomenal. Hands down, the best server I've ever had. He's very knowledgeable about the menu, makes pleasant conversation with the guests, and is overall such a great person to be around. He's definitely a great asset to have on this restaurant's team. He even noticed when our table was wobbly (even tho we didn't say anything) and started to fix it for us to ensure my family and I were comfortable. The food is amazing as well. The steamed mussels are my favorite dish from Nick's. The broth it comes in is super rich and tasty...

This review is long overdue. I think a part of me never wanted to write a review for Nick's because it's the best kept secret in the South Bay and I wanted to keep it to myself. Alas, the day has come. And to be honest, their Yelp reviews have gone out of control so it's not even a secret anymore. THIS. PLACE. IS. THE. BEST. I LOVE Nick's. I can rave about Nick's everyday forever. My favorite restaurant in the South Bay Area. Nick's is somewhere you go if you want a casual but classy nice dinner out celebrating anything and everything or even nothing. I come here every single year for my birthday without a fail. My favorite items. I've tried probably everything on the menu. They rotate items... Visualizza piatti

Although I came to this restaurant a while ago, the dining experience still stands out to me since it had some outstanding dishes that I really enjoyed. I came here in the middle of the day, but reservations were pretty difficult to get so I would recommend booking a decent amount in advance. The interior design of the restaurant is pretty fancy, although that's to be expected from a lot of restaurants around the Los Gatos area. The waiters were friendly and were responsive whenever we needed something. The portion sizes of the dishes are decently sized, and in retrospect we may have ordered a bit much for two people. One of the main dishes that stood out to me was their bone marrow butter,...

Great food and excellent quality! nuff saidd Nick's next door in located in DTLG but parking was fairly easy on a weekday evening. The entrance to nick is a little tough because there are no signs, but you essentially have to walk into this courtyard and once you see the patio furniture, you're in the right place. I made a reservation at 6:30, but sadly wasn't seated until 6:50pm. I was asked if I would sit out on the patio and didn't mind since it was such a nice day out. The dinner consisted of some drinks (Kentucky Buck), Steak tartare appetizer, pan fried rib eye and braised beef pasta. The entrees and steak tartare are amazing and delicious. The portions are also fair and decent. I woul...

"Went here for a date night with my husband and was able to get a reservation and hour out without issue. We sat on the patio which was nice but very warm because of the sunshades blocking the breeze, but once they went up it was better. The service was basically non-existent. Someone came to us with menus when we were seated and we had to wait about 20min before someone came to take our drink order. After quite a wait, the wine flight was brought to us and we then had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for someone to come and take our food order. There was a LOT of waiting. No one checked in to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. After finishing our wine flight and ordering a martini, the food finally arrived. Mushroom and sausage risotto for my husband and parpadelle alla vodka for myself. The food was good, not stellar. The risotto was more of a rice in broth and not a creamy risotto that we are used to getting at risottorias or east coast Italian joints. The food was large portions and hot though. Noone ever came to see how it was or if we needed anything else. Eventually I flagged someone down for the check and to get a cannoli to go. The cannoli was hard as a rock, so I wouldn't get it again. We decided to order takeout tonight for my brother's birthday, since the food was good and maybe ordering takeout would eliminate the disappointment of the service. Unfortunately two of the items we ordered were not correct. They were correct on the receipt but not made properly. My mother ordered the salmon Caesar salad, and as you can see from the picture it was literally just a piece of salmon on wilted greens. No dressing, no croutons as the description says. She was very disappointed. Then the birthday boy ordered linguine carbonara, and it was definitely not carbonara. 100% was Alfredo sauce, no egg yolk in sight. He was very disappointed, and said it was oily and bland. I got the parpadelle again and it was very good. It was really disappointing to get two of the items made incorrectly with no way to fix them, but we have learned our lesson and won't be back here."
