"--- I recently took a vacation at Sunset Beach, and by our third night, we were craving pizza. That's when I discovered Maria's, which was about a 17-minute drive from our condo. I placed an order online and arrived just in time for pickup. The pizza was ready when I got there, and there was no wait at all. Once I brought it back and took my first bite, I felt like I had been transported to another world where the pizza gods reside! This was truly the PERFECT pizza: the crust was just right, the cheese was gooey but not greasy, the sauce had the perfect tang, and the toppings were just the right amount. I was blown away! Three days later, we decided to order from Maria's again, but this time we placed an order for two pizzas. When I arrived for pickup, I ended up waiting an additional 48 minutes beyond the estimated time given on my order. Although I was frustrated, I recognized that the website does mention the pickup time is an estimate. The staff were very kind and apologetic, and the restaurant was packed, which explained the delay. My only concern was the tight congestion at the entrance and the small waiting area. It didn’t seem very organized for people waiting for tables versus those picking up call-in orders. On a positive note, the house-made ranch dressing is absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely be back for more. ---"

"Sugar Shack never disappoints! Always a must visit when in Ocean Isle. Order the steak, ribs, chicken wings, coconut shrimp and you can’t go wrong. So many other delicious choices as well and don’t forget to add some of their famous sauce. The slaw, which comes with the entrees, is the best around. Thanks Sugar Shack for always being our go to place!!"

"Busy place. Food is great. But good luck if you want to eat here in a beautiful day. We only come in with a reservation. Outside patio is great and servers are attentive. Did I mention it is extremely busy, busy, busy. They don’t really have much competition in the area I think. Hopefully more alternatives open up."

"We called the to restaurant to place a order to go but there was no answer so we decided to go and place our order to go at the restaurant! We arrived at 7:50 and they close at 9:00 but the young lady running the to go section told us that they were not taking anymore to go orders. We had a few discussions with some of the other people in the restaurant and no one had a good answer until we talked to the bartender Jay! Basically he saved the day and spoke with somone and relayed the message to the to-go order girl and we where able to place our order. Then we had to wait an 1 hour for the order . The food was decent but the service we received was horrible at first but Jay and another young man who found me some half and half for my coffee made up for it."

"Would not recommend. We first ordered using postmates and didn't receive the order after 2.5 hours. Customer service wanted tp give us 2$ off the order. When we went into the store soon after to get coffee, the coffee was completely watered down. The ice on the coffee was melted and the coffee was clear. It tasted like water. My daughter ordered a toast with jam, and she threw it away because it was so disgusting. The service was awful and they did not want to correct the order. Being from out of town and not knowing this place didn't know what they were doing didn't help! Do not go here!!!! Gas station coffee is better."
