"To start off the night.. I was greeted by a polite female server. And now drink order time.. I ordered a Jameson neat. The server mentioned this could not be made since the bartender had not yet arrived. It was 6pm.I mentioned that it was just a Jameson by itself, nothing is mixed with it.So she brought me the drink. It tasted watered down. Not sure why since I asked for it neat. This was not a good sign. And we are only at the restaurant. When the manger/ bartender arrived he made the drink again. It was still off, but let it go (at the time, clearly bothered if I'm making this post). Now onto the food. The only thing that was decent was the yellowtail.Calamari- was mostly fried noodles, calamari overcooked Ramen- watered down, wished egg was more poached, meat tough Okonomiyaki- overcooked, hard. So much seaweed (at best it's usually dusted with seaweed). It was drowning in sauce. It is not authentic Japanese and it seems like they don't care for their food or customer service."

Everything is really filling and tastes great. I've had various ramen and chicken w/ rice bowls and they've always been amazing. The gyoza, soup, and salad are great if you get a bento box.Food: 5/5

Came for lunch and had the spicy garlic tonkatsu ramen. It wasn't the prettiest bowl when it came out but it was tasty. Filling and salty and just enough kick for me ? the lunch special price was $12.50 plus tax.

Not an understatement, at the top of my list for every restaurant experience I 've had. Pictures say the rest. The only reason it 's not 5 stars is because there 's always room for improvement in everything, but this one 's pretty dang close to perfect .Food: 5/5 View menu

The restaurant has a clean feel to it with nice food, but when i ordered the assorted tempura i swear on everything i love there was zero shrimp. I’m a manager at a asian restaurant, so i know what shrimp is. The servers were non-existent, and it was slow. The extensive menu is great. Maybe there was service sabotage, but nothing to dwell on…

The food was… mediocre. Yellowjacket roll was dowsed in spicy mayo, the ramen tasted like spicy water, the stuffed jalapeños where sloppy and a bit cold, the Philadelphia roll is hard to mess up, however the rice and salmon tasted like buffet quality.Did not try the drinks. Seems like they have an extensive alcoholic variety. The waitress was nice, but distracted.Got my own eating utensils from their station lol.

After searching Yelp in the North Dallas area for a good sushi restaurant I came up with two that I thought was semi authentic with an Omakase selection. It was a Sunday night also Easter weekend so many of the Japanese establishments were closed. Akaya sushi is located in a shopping center on Campbell Rd just past UT Dallas. I guess that's why the interior looks like a bar/nightclub with its blue ceiling lights which gives all their food a purple tint. We were just trying to find some fresh sashimi and ordered the $67 Omakase sashimi, two nigiri combos and a no rice roll. The no rice roll was excellent, but some of the fish like the salmon, escolar, and tuna was not fresh. We had lots of le... View menu

Food is great! Service is terrible. After sitting for 5 minutes I got up a got our sushi menus. Then ordered Mizo sparkling saki from the bartender who asked another person if they had it where it was kept. I had it before knew it was in the cooler pointed it out to him.A waitress came over with full menus took order drink orders after that. It was not busy wait staff were having a conversation. When we did order, our rolls came out staggered and yummy. We got the Dallas Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Tempura Roll crunchy something (lol). The crunch was my fav. My husband ordered tempura veggies that were crunchy flavorful. The dipping sauce was a bit more vinegary than I 've had other places but ta...

Wanted to like this place but regretted going. They have great menu choices and we tried the chicken karrage, spicy garlic tonkotsu ramen, and salmon sashimi. The karrage wasn’t anything special, the ramen was bland and not spicy at all. The eggs in it were overcooked and sour, and the chashu was dry.My partner ordered iced green tea from the menu and we got a cup of ice water with a teabag in it. I guess they literally meant iced green tea lol. The only thing we liked was the salmon but even that didn’t come with wasabi, I had to shout across the restaurant to get our server’s attention.I should’ve known this place wouldn’t be that good when it was completely empty even during dinner time....

"A mean chicken sandwich, along with an array of other diverse items, is what you can expect to find here.Their chicken sandwich, though pricier than one at a fast food drive thru, is well worth it. It's a well seasoned breast fried with a well-balanced crispy batter. And, to top it off, it's bigger than cheaper fried chicken sandwiches elsewhere. The classic chicken sandwich is satisfying, but some of their other sauced variations might satisfy people who want more unique flavors on their sandwiches.Everything tastes fresh, and the organic cage free chicken they claim to use can be tasted. It's a juicy clean tasting chicken, and one's stomach can feel it later. Unlike a lot of other fried chicken sandwiches, there's a remarkable lightness about it.The fries they have are fresh and hot, but are also thick crinkle cut fries which may not be in some people's taste. Luckily, the homemade chips they make up for that fact, and they shockingly taste much better than they should. For those hoping for a healthier option, this place offers plenty of wildly delicious choices involving grilled chicken, quinoa salads, wraps, and many others that are no less creative than their fried chicken choices. The stellar atmosphere and friendly service cap it all off.If anything can be complained about, it's that the biscuits here are too soft, and lack the crumbly crispy texture of a regular biscuit one is used to eating. While it's not bad at all, some may not find it to their taste."
