"The food was below average at best (and my son got a stomach ache). All dishes were oversalted, duck nuggets were flavourless, fondue was too liquid and lumpy with no gruyere taste, escargots were super oily. Even cappuccino tasted like it was made of Americano, not espresso. The waitress was nice though, and offered complimentary macarons to cover for our bad experience. Also, if you 'd like to have raclette, it 's better to give them a call and confirm because apparently it should be pre-ordered. In our case, we made an online reservation with no raclette question being asked (and no one reached out to us to confirm reservation/to offer raclette menu), so this option was unavailable for us."

Alice and Lulu’s is a fantastic new addition to the mountain restaurant scene. The service and cocktails are excellent, all set in a charming and cozy atmosphere. We've enjoyed every dish we've tried, particularly the raclette. I highly recommend this place for after-ski drinks or dinner!

Wonderful alpine bar in Downtown Sugarloaf something completely different from the typical US mountain experience, but perfectly reflecting an eatery you might find in Savoie. The wines are unique not what you'd get elsewhere in the Carrabassett Valley. Can't wait to try the raclette (requires reservation a day or two ahead). View menu

My wife and I live locally and I wanted to surprise her with something different on date night. We don’t usually think to to the mountain since we don’t ski anymore. Going here turned out to be a great choice. The food and the drinks are better than anything in the area. The owners work here and they are wonderful and friendly people.

Incredible meal and experience. Hands down the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life and I’m from NJ/NY area where there are so many Italian restaurants. This place competes and exceeds!!!! And best bread/cheese and charcuterie I’ve ever had. Will definitely be back.Bonus review: they treated my crazy kid with such kindness and gave him crayons!

I had an amazing meal and experience here! Without a doubt, it's the best pasta I've ever tasted, and I'm from the NJ/NY area, where Italian restaurants are plentiful. This place stands out and surpasses them all! The bread, cheese, and charcuterie were also outstanding. I will definitely return. As a bonus, they were so kind to my energetic child and even provided him with crayons! View menu

If you want good food, then eating at Alice and Lulu’s is an absolute must. In an area full of glorified bar food (if that), here’s an outpost of real cuisine. Start with a cocktail (some sweet, all delightful), move to a charcuterie plate (have them pick select the details), and then if you’re lucky enjoy raclette (the crepes are excellent too). Finish it off with an aperitif—their liquor is leaps and bounds above anything within 50 miles. My foodie spouse and friends cannot find an item on the menu they dislike; I’m not sharp but I know something too good to be true when I find it.

This restaurant has a distinctive atmosphere that sets it apart. The food is truly authentic French, made with locally sourced ingredients. The staff takes great pride in the quality of their ingredients, and the presentation is impeccable; the service is also top-notch. The ambiance is relaxed, with a come-as-you-are dress code. We ordered the pasta carbonara and a buckwheat crepe filled with bacon, onion, and delightful small potatoes. We started our meal with a pickle tray that featured pickled fennel. If you’re not into cheese plates and charcuterie, there are plenty of other options available. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

"However, when it came to the service and the food, that’s where the experience fell short. After receiving a good recommendation, I decided to give this place a try. I'll do my best to be clear about my experience so you can understand my perspective. Placing our order took longer than expected, likely due to the lengthy menu. Since it was overwhelming, we decided to get a platter. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake. The BBQ was undercooked, and it would have rated a two-star if not for the nice setup. I really dislike saying this, but serving undercooked BBQ is simply unacceptable. The mac and cheese on the platter was decent, but when I ordered it on the side, it was far from good. The coleslaw remained untouched. The chicken and sausage were acceptable and made the platter somewhat tolerable. For an appetizer, we had shrimp ceviche, which I had high hopes for. But how do you mess up ceviche? There are basic ingredients that must be present, and acidity is essential. Although the dish had an interesting mix of components, one unfamiliar ingredient was a small Peruvian sweet hot pepper, which didn’t improve the overall flavor. Then came the baked beans, another letdown. We didn’t even have a spoon for them, and the flavor was overly sweet without the BBQ essence we were looking for. Now, onto the service. While our server was friendly, the service is crucial for a first-time visitor. One fundamental rule is to take guests' orders while seated. Throughout our wait, we didn’t receive any drinks, which arrived only after our food was served. We had to ask multiple times for various items, and some—like napkins, which are essential in any BBQ joint—never showed up. One of my companions asked for a spoon three times, as well as lime for the ceviche. I noticed the spoons were just within reach, yet our waitress took far too long to bring one for the baked beans—she finally delivered it just as we were about to ask for our check. It would have only taken a couple of minutes to resolve that. I lost count of how many times we called for her, and she often pretended not to hear us. Lastly, when we handed her our card to pay, she strolled around with it for over ten minutes while tending to other tables. The venue may have a great selection of dishes, but this particular experience has left me questioning the quality of the food overall. Honestly, I would give it a rating of 2.5 stars, if not 2. This was my experience this time, and I hope you consider my feedback. Of course, your visit may turn out to be entirely different from mine."
