If you order the wood-fired pizza, you won't be disappointed!

We were looking for a restaurant outside the Kohala resorts. Meal was great and service was great.

Great family owned restaurant. Husband and wife are very nice and friendly. Very authentic Italian. They are from Italy and use the finest ingredients. We had pizza and house salad. It was delicious. Give this restaurant a try and I bet you will go back time and time again.

The food was very tasty. The menu choices were limited. The service was very poor. We had trouble getting our server's attention for the basic needs. When I wanted to pay the bill the server disappeared with my credit card. After a long while I asked where my credit card was. I was told that they had run out of paper in the credit card machine. When they finally sorted that out the charged was processed under a different proprietor's name. I would not recommend this restaurant. View menu

This meal was spectacular! Dining at Al Vicolo offered some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had, and I originally come from just outside of Philadelphia, where it's tough to find better cuisine. My father, who eats at an Italian restaurant several times a week back in Philly, said that the spaghetti he had was the best-cooked pasta he’s ever tasted. High praise indeed! I ordered the eggplant Parmigiana special, and it was excellent. My dad had a pasta dish (though I can’t remember the name), and my fiancée enjoyed a pizza that was both crispy and beautiful. She said it was delicious. You definitely need to eat here!

First time diners. There were 4 of us in our party. The restaurant was not crowded. It took over 15 minutes to get our cocktails. Two were delivered promptly and others waited 15 minutes, one was wrong. The meals were served in a timely fashion and 3 of 4 were pleased. The 4th person ordered focaccia and ended up with a pizza. All enjoyed the food. The server never checked back on drink refills or dessert. We did not see her again until I asked another server for our check. She did give us a complimentary pancetta dessert to share 2 for 4. The check finally arrived 45 minutes after we had finished our meals. It did get a little busy, the food and drinks were good. We were two couples with a 7pm reservation on Monday night. There were a few tables occupied upon our arrival. Although we were seated fairly quickly, we had no server at our table for over 15 minutes. After being greeted, we ordered 1 cocktail and a bottle of wine. The cocktail came 15 minutes later, and the bottle of wine almost 25 minutes later. Our orders were taken at that time. We ordered 3 pasta dishes and 1 pizza. The pasta dishes arrived 15 minutes later, but the pizza did not arriveuntil all dinners were finished.
