"Failed Experiment in AI Robots The Sunday service is tailored towards all you can eat $42.99 “Ambar Experience.” At least that is how they apparently program their experimental AI robot server. It (a very realistic human depiction) meets you at the table and slightly overenthusiastically says “I’ll be taking care of you,” and offers a menu with no prices listed other than the $42.99 one. When later told by us that we were not that hungry, and just wanted an entrée, it said “it comes out about the same.” When asked if the Meat Pie was indeed $42.99, a small smoke trail began trickling from its ears, and its eyes went in a circle before acknowledging “no, the Meat Pie does not cost $42.99.” When asked, it was able to deliver a menu with entrée prices listed. About 15 minutes later it returned, beginning by asking if we wanted the “Ambar Experience.” We said no, and stated clearly and slowly that we wanted entrees, which it finally accepted. About 20 minutes later it returned as introduced itself, saying “I’ll be taking care of you.” It appeared to be the same robot in appearance as the earlier one, but if so its memory had been deleted or wiped we assumed. When we noted we had already ordered, it said “no one brought it out yet? Sorry about that.” Fascinating as this all was as an experiment with robotic AI servers, we actually did want a bite to eat, so we left. This place gets good reviews, and we tried the food once before and it was good, and the music was creative and cool (as is the culture from that part of the world), but we cannot recommend the Sunday “Ambar Experience” at least to those who are not in the AI industry. In any event, with service so slow, we suspect the all-you-can-eat bargain is diminished by the slow roll serving, but this is just conjecture. A scene yes.But not my scene. I won't be back. Drink was $7. I handed bartender $20. He asked if I wanted change. That would be a Yes. Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Great selection of tapas all types. Good service. Nice choice of seating: inside/outside, bar, high top, tables, booths. Reasonable pricing and very reliable high quality food.

Although I have known about Ambar for awhile this was the first time I ate a meal there. Absolutely delicious and a taste bud journey. The atmosphere is a beautiful escape. I look forward to coming back for the full experience with friends in the near future.

Ambar never disappoints! Stopped by the Clarendon location. We had the bottomless brunch option. It's probably the best brunch value in town. Food comes out quickly and they have well prepared bottomless mimosas option. You have to love the decor of there locations. The server we had was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. If you are ever in town and are looking for a good brunch please stop by!! View menu

We had Fahad as a server and he exceeded all expectations. Truly an amazing server but also amazing person. He was very intuitive and ordered things that we didn’t even say because he understood our eating style. We even got our car towed from the parking lot (not owned by Ambar) and he was so sweet and catered to our every need. If I could give him 10 stars I would, thank you. Really fun spot to try, seems to be incredibly popular so a rez is prob a good idea. However, we were early and found a free spot at the bar. Fun Balkan brandies to sample, and plenty of other choices on the drink menu. I liked the small plates, they were very small, but you can try a lot of things that way and just re-order faves. The lamb lasagna was excellent. This is a great spot for a group. Pretty loud, of course, with the amount of people. Food came out pretty fast and the server was easy to snag when we needed anything.

I came here on a Saturday at 1pm with 2 friends and it was very loud and too crowded. It was so busy that we didn't get a menu for the first 15 minutes after being seated. Water also took a while for us to get too. I get that people are day drinking and all, but for the price, how crowded and loud it was, plus the servers being too caught up with too many tables, I'm not really sure how I feel. I wanted to have a nice, upscale brunch outing with friends I rarely get to see, but this was not it. Our throats were hurting after having to shout over the noise just so we could talk to each other. 3 stars because the food was at least good. View menu

I came here based off some recommendation on my Maps app. By far the most random way to get a restaurant recommendation but I am so so glad I listened. Turns out Ámbar is a former Michelin rated restaurant, and while I have no clue what the expectation should be for one of those... I do know that at my time of review for less than $30 I had an all you can eat lunch of absolutely devine foods with no reservation needed on Thursday. Nearly each small (tapas style) meal was fantastic! Gorgeously plated. This close to DC I spent a lot more for a lot less. Great service and cute ambience this is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a slightly elevated lunch experiences

"Highly recommend! This quaint neighborhood coffee shop is the place to be! The coffee served as espresso or with an americano is La Columbe Nizza flavor. So unctuous and comforting- it's one of my favorite. I was so happy to discover a local neighborhood coffee spot near me that serves it. The owners and workers always make you feel like family! Top notch service. They always fill your cup to the brim so you never feel cheated. The prices are $2-$3 less per cup than national coffee shops and tastes infinitely better! The atmosphere and cozy furniture seating groups make you feel like you are having coffee at a friend or family members place. Very thoughtful seating, including outdoor seating that is utilized everyday. You are greeted by the neighbors that frequent this favorite coffee spot on each visit. It also allows you to bring man's best friend and sit outside with them to ship your core and relax. This little shop also sells your favorite coffee in packages to take home and make in between your stops to visit your neighbor family. They also sells some fantastic looking wine and delicious pastries and sweets, along with breakfast sandwiches and lunch items. Treat yourself to the whole experience of drinking a comforting cup of coffee with the authentic family caring atmosphere! You will not be disappointed! Make a new neighborhood friend while you're there!"
