Weekends in Julian are very problematic. If you can go up on a weekday to avoid the HUGE lines. Also this is a great place to get sandwiches "to go "and head over to Jess Martin park to have a picnic in a beautiful setting right there in Julian.

everything we have asked is that they gluten-free cakes and the dame behind the theke immediately and rudely said I am not cutting any torte for them, they can cut it themselves. my wife was shocked with the answer. will not come back or recommend. ever. View menu

came for the freshly baked apple crumb cake, baked in their open kitchen. Helpful lady. Freshly baked apple cakes, other flavored cakes, cinnamon ice cream, sandwiches more. Delicious and delicious restaurant. Warm apple crumb cake and ice is always the perfect pairing.

Absolutely the kindest, best hospitality, unbelievable driving directions and helpfulness and beyond the most outstanding pies.They could even meet my daughter’s gluten free dietary necessity!! And believe me this pie was unbelievably delicious!!!They were literally pulling their sign in when we were flying to their door. My husband and I came here for the first time today because the line was far too long with Julian pie Co., so we decided to try another cake place instead and this bakery did not disappoint! We bought a caramel apple pecan pee and it was so damn good I had just my second piece and in my eyes and my belly the tort here is perfectly srumptious, We will be back! Thanks again and also the customer service is great here and there was no waiting time to get a delicious cake or some really good baked goods!

I've been here twice and it's the best place in Julian for celiacs!! They are careful about cross-contamination and I've always had a great experience. I got a sandwich with roast beef, swiss cheese, lettuce and mustard. The gluten free bread was similar to untoasted Udi's texture. But it tasted delicious after a long day of hiking. The real star of the meal was the gluten free apple pie!! Absolutely delicious. And it comes with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. They packed it to-go with some Lays and a pickle and I walked up the street to a brewery to meet my gluten eating friend. We both had a great time in Julian and I'm so happy there was a safe gluten free option.

Apple Alley is bit hard to find. The other apple cafesare right on Main Street and jammed w tourists. This little gem is right in the heart of down town, but down an alley. Look for it, you'll be glad you did.The gal behind he counter was very friendly and helpful. It was the end of the day, and the crew at the most famous pie shop were just past it and could barely take our oder.We had already eaten lunch in another establishment on Main Street when we found Apple Alley. Apple Alley's lunch, for the same price included half a sandwich, cup of soup AND A PIECE OF PIE!
