Barley Mac - Menu

Our waiter took a long time to come over initially. The mac and cheese was served cold, and lacked proper utensils. Additionally, the glassware and silverware were very dirty.

What a lovely place to have in the neighborhood. Staff is super nice and answered all our questions about brunch. The food was delicious and the drinks fantastic. An amazing place to seat on their pet friendly patio.

Really enjoyed the terrific chicken wings (some of the best in the city). I enjoyed the Southwestern Salad, which had a nice chicken breast and fresh vegetables. My guest enjoyed the French Dip, which is always excellent comfort food. The service was responsive and friendly. View menu

Mother’s Day was terribly run. We waited an hour and a half for food and they had to take drinks we never got off our bill. It was a mess in there. Every other Arlington restaurant manages to handle brunch and even on Mother’s Day it wasn’t as crowded as any of the other places.

I went to this restaurant for brunch. It wasn't too crowded, but the service was very poor. It took a long time for a waiter to take our order. Our drinks didn't arrive until our food did, which was about 40 minutes after we ordered. Our waiter never came to see if we needed anything while we were eating. The food was decent, but considering the price, I expected to be more impressed.

The restaurant provided a fantastic setting for a reunion meal with a former colleague on a beautiful spring day. Despite the usual city noise, we enjoyed sitting outside. The salad was fresh, the lobster mac was creamy and delicious, and the soup was good although a bit overpriced. The service was friendly, warm, and attentive. Went here for Mother’s Day at 5:30pm. We were sat next to multiple tables that have yet to be bussed from brunch. They may have been understaffed because there it took a while to order and then once the food came, I couldn’t get a refill on my drink until I was just about done with my meal. My family enjoyed their meals of pizza, steak frites, herb Mac n cheeseand shrimp tacos but my 12 hr sous vide short rib was underwhelming. This experience was meh and probably not a restaurant I would go to again with all the other options in the area.

Barley Mac was not crowded for brunch, so it easy to get a table and have a conversation without having to shout over ambient noise. The food, however, was average at best, and although our server was pleasant, there were a number of rough spots (that weren 't her fault). For example, we had to ask for the toast that came with our meals, and when they brought it, it was one half slice of dry bread without butter or jam (we had to ask for that too). The rest of the food was passable but nothing to write home about. As a side note, the printed menu was absolutely filled with typos. Things like patatoes instead of potatoes. This used to be a great place, but it has really gone downhill in the last year or so. They are severely under-staffed, so the service is incredibly slow. It took us 40 minutes to get our drinks, and we were one of four parties in the restaursnt. Most annoyingly, their menu has specific items that are marked as GF—items you can order that are free of gluten. However, when I ordered one of those GF-marked items (the short ribs), the kitchen told me that they use a ton of flour in that recipe, and that the menu is inaccurate and needs to be updated.
