"Bistro 46 shows promise, but it could benefit from some improvements to enhance the dining experience. On the positive side, we were seated quickly, but things went downhill from there. After being seated, it took 10 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge us. To our dismay, he took the order from another table before taking ours. It was another 10-15 minutes before we finally received our drink order. The food was enjoyable, but the appetizer should have been served before the main course, not alongside it. I had to seek out another server for ketchup since our waiter was nowhere to be found, and it took an additional 10 minutes to arrive, by which time the fries were already cold. The best decision of the night was to refill our drinks ourselves, as our waiter wasn't very attentive."

Steak was gristly and fries were soggy. Staff was friendly and clearly trying hard.

They need some work here. The service is rather irregular, but they seemed to be trying. More problematic though, was that one of our dishes came out cold. Could be fine, but they need improvement.

What’s with the NYC restaurant trend of seating couples against the back or side wall? Who wants to be stuck against the wall for two hours? Even when the place is half full, it seems like the staff is programmed to seat couples in those spots, as if they have to be pushed against the wall. On our third visit, the atmosphere was lovely, and the decor was beautiful, but we were stuck at the back. The food was good, and the staff was friendly, but the menu had a limited selection. There was nothing particularly exciting on offer. View menu

The menu offered a nice variety, but it didn't quite reflect a traditional bistro experience. I had the escargot and short rib served with mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, everything felt a bit too rich; the mashed potatoes were heavy and cheesy, and the short ribs were mushy with an overpowering wine reduction. Overall, the food was decent, but not outstanding. My wife's French onion soup was lacking in cheese, which was disappointing. Our young waitress was friendly but seemed inexperienced and not very attentive. In a city where average doesn't suffice, this place fell short. The managers appeared distracted and didn't seem to be effectively overseeing the waitstaff.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
