"Peter's Carryout is a beloved fixture in Bethesda. It's both affordable and quick, yet still manages to be delicious. This old-school, family-owned restaurant is a rare find these days. The seating is limited to about a dozen barstools where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the cooking process. They also offer takeout and delivery options. "We don 't go here often because of the loudness (er liveliness . But we forgot how good the food is. On the late side on a weeknight, the menu has a chance to shine. It 's one of the places you can get real Dover sole last night 's special. And plenty of other great fish and seafood. I almost gave a 5 for service but for one ding trying to clear one of our plates before the other was finished. A pet peeve, perhaps, but classy places should know better. Otherwise, our server was excellent knowledgeable, well paced, delightful. It 's Bethesda prices but fair for quality ingredients."

"My friend, Laura, hosted my birthday dinner at this new restaurant last week and we had a great time. – Thank you, Tom Sietsema! The pani poori was good — although I preferred it without the cumin water. Watch out – these one-bite appetizers are rather large! The tandoori chicken was excellent, as was the nan flecked with rock salt and cilantro. By the way, the outstanding raita comes in very handy! The parking situation is not great, but the restaurant is very homey and inviting, the prices are outstanding (two people dined for less than $40), and the staff are exceedingly attentive, knowledgable and helpful. Enjoy!"

"This is my third visit I find this place inconsistent at best, I saw a waiter pick up my companion’s beer put it back down on the service bar. Took minutes for it to be delivered by that time our lunch was over. The food I ordered blacked fish taco’s, arrived cold not blackened, dry tasteless. My companion had the tuna tacos raved how delicious they were. It just depends but I’m reluctant to try again. Black salt is much more reliable"

If they are a long comer or a new face in the city, beth will welcome them and lead a talk. they feel welcome and part of the family diner.
