"Imperial Diner in Freeport is the kind of place I usually don’t review because I don’t want too many people to find out how good it is. I don’t want it to become so popular that we would have a long wait to get in. It is my favorite diner. The service is always good, the food is always yummy and made the way you request it. It is clean and everyone who works there is friendly and quick to accommodate your requests."

"Coming from a New York Italian family, I've lived in various places, including the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Staten Island, before settling in Long Island. While David Portnoy rated this place an 8.0, I would argue that the quality is just above average. It doesn't quite measure up to a true borough-style slice and ranks lower on my list for Long Island options. You will receive your food promptly, and while it's certainly edible and pleasant enough, it doesn't blow me away. The sauce is the highlight of the meal. "Great sushi, reasonable prices, fresh fish. Mizuno has been one of our go-tos since moving to Merrick. We typically order a couple of specialty rolls and then round out our meal with the three roll special (pick any three, plus miso soup salad all for $15). Most of the kitchen appetizers are good too if you're looking for a few land based selections, but I found the sushi appetizers a little small for the price. For example, the salmon chalaca consists of four bite sized morsels of salmon tuna wrapped around fresh mango slices...for $12. For that price, I'd rather snag another specialty roll or something more substantial from the kitchen. After some trial and error, we have a pretty generous shortlist of favorites here, chances are you'll be happy here too!"

"I dined at this restaurant this time. They had a special featuring a delicious piece of Wagyu and Toro, which are my favorite. The other fish I ordered didn't taste as fresh as it did last time, so it was just okay. Additionally, we ordered some chicken pineapple fried rice, but unfortunately, they forgot to include the chicken. The truffle salmon, however, was quite good. Overall, I think this restaurant is better suited for takeout, so I don't fault my dining experience for not being as impressive as their takeout options."
