"We requested to sit at a high table near the bar but were told we couldn’t because of their preference to “compartmentalize” the seating. Keep in mind that this is a small restaurant, and the table we wanted was only about 15 feet away from the one they assigned us. Ultimately, we ended up at a lower table, and my husband, who has bad knees, asked the waiter if we could possibly sit at the higher table instead. The waiter responded very reluctantly, saying, “Well, I guess I can do that if your knees really hurt.”
At that point, we chose to leave. It was the most ridiculous and uncomfortable welcome we’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. We want to support small businesses in our town, but we won’t be returning. There are plenty of other places nearby where we can enjoy a breakfast or burger without feeling like a burden when we walk in. The food has always been good here, but it’s just as good at other spots down the street."
