"Would give it a 4.5 if I had the option to because the food was a little too salty. First off, this place is a gem. If you’re looking for a cozy, quiet place to enjoy some home cooked style French meals, this is it! We ordered the rabbit stew and sea bass which were excellent, although the stew was too salty for our taste. They give you tasty complementary bread, and the stew came with some green beans which I absolutely loved as a palate cleanser. Their soufflé is a must have! It’s expensive, but it’s something you can’t try anywhere else in the US. It looks enormous but is mostly air inside 2 people can easily finish it so don’t be intimidated by the size like we were. Reservations are a must here. The restaurant is tiny so you will most likely not have any luck with a walk in. Lastly, it’s worth mentioning the service was great. They were very friendly, and I’d definitely come again!"

Absolutely lovely traditional French cooking and charming service. It sounds cliché, but try the escargot and frog legs they were both amazing.

If you've never tried escargot but have wanted to, this is the place to go, they were lovely. And if you are a fan of duck, that dish is a spectacular showshopper.

A beautiful family owned restaurant with incredible food. Nice decor, good music and quality ingredients. Very good service as well. Felt like I teleported to Paris.. will definitely be back! View menu

Old-school French cooking in time-worn setting. If you are hankering for escargots, onion soup, rabbit stew, or veal sweetbreads all at fair prices, you cannot do better than by dining at this homey establishment. Do not skip the outstanding souffles.

I am terribly saddened that Chez Napoleon hasn't yet been able to reopen. I love this restaurant. My husband and I have gone every New Years Eve for years. And I used to go regularly with my father many decades ago. It has left a big hole in our NYClives to not have this wonderful as a regular option.

This restaurant is really cool. It’s small and intimate and the food is pretty decent/good. The owner is extremely nice and the wait staff are all completely amazing. The bartender and owner may put on a facade as if he is a super tough Gothic dude but inside he’s really sweet, warm, caring, and quite funny don’t let his appearance freak you out/stereotype. Overall is great and I definitely would return. View menu

I hope ConEd and the city get their act together. This is a marvelous restaurant, the kind that really doesn't exist in NYC anymore. The food is excellent, the service is excellent, the ambience transports you. I returned here for dinner a few months ago after being away from NYC fora few years and was so happy to see they made it through Covid. Now, it appears they are stuck in a bureaucratic quagmire of the city and ConEd. Sending our best wishes and support!

French cuisine is my favorite and I’ve been searching the city for a restaurant that has soufflés. Nevertheless, I am so happy I stumbled upon Chez Napoléon and couldn’t believe I was able to make a reservation for two on the same day for a Friday. Upon arrival, I felt cozy vibes and like I had stumbled into a little restaurant in Paris. Our waitress immediately greeted us at the table. She was so attentive, friendly, and gave excellent recommendations on what to order. I started off with the escargots, which were tasty. For my main course, I ordered the Coq au Vin, and it was so divine, flavorful, juicy, and tender. And finally, after placing our dessert order with dinner, the Grand Marnier...

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
