"I had my wedding dinner at Choplins which I made months in advance. It took over an hour to get seated. The manager did nothing but give excuses. She was very defensive which we thought was unprofessional. Everyone ordered the same steak the ribeye and mine came out as a New York strip. Again the manager just gave excuses and said they were all the same. I’m from Texas and I know the difference. I was very disappointed in how we were treated. And the worse part is that it was my wedding day."

we all enjoyed our meals. the mixology was great, all the meals were on the square. probably one of the best resteraunts in the Norman Sea region.

I had her speciality on the day that was meat-deaf. it came cold in cold, sweeter engraving. the sweet potato caserole was more like a dessert. the place is cold and dark.

the brittle cup was fantastic! beautiful and soft, crispy and crisp. I try other places for this court, but that's the best. I tried the lamb choppers this time, and they didn't disappoint. excellent! we always love the place. it is always very busy, so make sure to have a reservation. View menu

Yet another amazing meal from Choplins! This is my wife and I’s go to date night restaurant for a reason! As always the drinks were well made and the dinner was delicious! The special of the night was a whole fried flounder. It may have been the best seafood dish I have ever had! I cannot recommend this place enough! The food does not disappoint and the staff is extremely friendly!

This was about our fifth time to Choplins. We have never been disappointed. It was a Friday night, full house, but our server Brittany was prompt, friendly and professional. We were seated within minutes after arrival. My steak and my wifes duck were perfectly prepared. Thankfully Choplins has eschewed the trend for noisy, “high energy” restaurant environments. This might account for the fact that its a mature crowd. Not the kind of place to drop in for a burger, but not stuffy either.

"Ordinary in disguise. My wife and I have been to 2 of the different dressler locations and have not been impressed with either. Sure, the branding is great. The atmosphere isn’t bad. But the food is just far too ordinary. We met in-laws for birthday dinner at the birkdale location. Super nice FOH, waitress was fantastic and attentive. Started with the charcuterie board for the table and Parmesan risotto for our 2.5 year old and ordered wines- which the wine list wasn’t bad either. Risotto was made for a child, even though we confirmed it was made like it typically was. Woefully under-seasoned, slightly crunchy and dry. Not a good risotto at all but hey, my toddler ate it. Charcuterie board was home chef level- basic at best. Maybe 5 saltines on the side of some brown mustard and 3 salamis with cheese chunks. Would not recommend. I ordered the NY strip and wife ordered the Mahi dishes. Had to send back the NY strip as it was charred and acrid even if the center was pink, signs of a grill that is far too hot and a kitchen that rushes. It was unpalatable and I ordered it medium-rare. Opted for the crab cakes instead which were actually fantastic! Potatoes on the side for both were chewy and lacked depth of flavor, average at best. Didn’t have dessert as we had spent enough without a real return on value. Won’t be returning unless it’s for beers and crab cakes at the bar. Food: 2.5/5 Drink: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 3.5/5"

"However, when a waitress approached us shortly after we had sat down with our second plates and asked us to pay, I was caught off guard. I had a mouthful of samosa and gestured to her that I couldn’t speak at the moment, hoping she would take the hint and come back later, but she didn’t. Once I was able to swallow, I reminded her that we thought there was no rush. Surprisingly, she responded with, "You don’t want to pay?" Feeling a bit irritated by her timing, I said it was fine, and I would pay now. When I did pay, she didn’t even acknowledge it with a thank you. Afterward, the table next to us commented on how they saw the whole incident and mentioned that this is how payment is typically collected there. A gentleman from that table, who was born and raised in India, explained that this aggressive approach to collecting payment is a cultural norm. In India, he said, people often negotiate the bill only after finishing their meal, which makes servers a bit defensive about payments. I understand that different cultures shape our behaviors, but that situation left me feeling somewhat embarrassed, which was unfortunate because the food was amazing. I had been craving Indian cuisine since moving here from New York about two years ago. I’d love to come back with my parents, but I might suggest paying upfront to avoid the awkwardness. I gave the restaurant another chance, but unfortunately, I was quite disappointed for a few reasons. We arrived at 1 PM on a Saturday, and since lunch is served until 3 PM, I expected a good selection. However, there was very little food left—no samosas, no chicken in the Tikka Masala, and most other dishes were similarly depleted. I asked the owner if they planned to prepare more, and he assured me they were cooking additional items that would be out soon. Twenty-five minutes later, they finally began bringing out some food, but it felt like too little too late. Several other guests even left after seeing the buffet. The owner explained that they hadn't been busy earlier, so they hadn’t prepared much food. While I understand not wanting to overprepare, if you’re open for business, you should be able to serve customers. Otherwise, it might be better to close for the day. I left feeling very disappointed and don’t think we’ll be returning."
