"All I know is that after one lunch here this is going to be a place I come back to for the rest of my life despite it being a 2 hour drive for me. I am vegan and have never really experienced a Mexican restaurant that gives you that traditional feelwhile still having plenty of non traditional options to eat. Rightfully so as well since I know many locations and recipes useanimal products and their beans and rice And that's how they've done it for a long time! I was so pleasantly surprised whenlooking at restaurants in the area to stumble across Cocina de Carlos. We went on a Friday afternoon and we're set immediately.I ordered the vegano combo and it was incredible. The beans and rice were probably the best I've ever had at any restaurant.The avocado was fresh, the vegan queso was out of this world, the salsa and chips that come for free before your meal were evenbetter. After two margaritas and a plate full of INCREDIBLE food, I left a very happy woman."

They ARE open on Sundays. Good is great! Atmosphere and service great too. Knowledgeable staff. Vegan & gluten-free options. My favorite Mexican restaurant in the Northwest Ohio area.

Cocina de Carlos wasn't bad but considering we've tried Mexican food at dozens of places across North America, this meal was by comparison entirely ordinary. We started with the guacamole dip which was tasty but with far too many onions. Next was the enchilada plate (our usual) and the Texas fajitas (steak, chicken and shrimp. The enchiladas weren't accompanied by rice and beans as we'd usually expect and the fajitas arrived without the customary sizzle and were in fact rather bland.
