"Pre Lock Down, this place was packed almost daily, a great and friendly place.Since then I have been there 2-3 times and I am 100% disappointed.Last night we stopped in there and I did not get what I ordered. I would not order a PANINI as I don't care for them. But that is what I got, I never saw such a small item in my life. Just wondering where my $18 for the meal went. I went up to the counter to complain and they were busy so I just went back to my seat.I would really like a full refund as it was not what I ordered. The picture of what I ordered on their sign was a large sandwich, not a thin sample.I will think twice before going back. We were the only ones in the restaurant by the way."

We held a team meeting here, and the brunch was satisfactory. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was, and the choose 2 menu offers fantastic value. I can't wait to return!

It was ok....espresso machine broken so limited to paying 5$ for plain coffee out of dispensers by soda machine. Cranberry muffins were sufficient... View menu

The food was enjoyable, but it is a bit pricier compared to other restaurants. I visited in the morning and they had only a few options available from the menu—just about three.

Haven’t been here in a while and everything was surprisingly still the same but still good. It’s not world class amazing good but it’s really good. Nice calm environment to hang and chill.

The breakfast wrap I ordered was served partially warm, partially cold. It was less than ideal. And the hot chocolate was also served barely luke-warm. I won't go again. Very disappointed. View menu

The manager/ cashier was not friendly at all whatsoever. His demeanor is like he is doing you a favor by taking your order. This individual should just stay in the back of the kitchen and not be allowed to talk to customers.

Signs inside the restaurant were a bit misleading. The staff at the register were slow to greet customers. We ordered a pasta dish and a sandwich-the pasta was disappointing while I would order the sandwich again.Parking: Limited parking at the restaurant curb, but lots of free parking near the restaurant

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
