"the corner of nostrand avenue and lincoln road could also be pampered with the flag of barbados. the blue and yellow of culpepper’s is recognizable from some distance, and in contrast to many Western Indian restaurants it is not hidden at all. on the first look this is a simple take-out joint, only a small table is to sit in the front room, but they hold an dining room. behind a closed door in which they can throw you in, there are still some tables available for meals in the house. if possible, but, take the table in the front room and enjoy their meal with all the action. The take-out is a steady stream that people order in the morning, in the afternoon and at night."

If you don't get anything else, you must buy cod fish cakes!!!! They are the best in comparison to my MoM.

brot obst cu cu and salt fish were big pigs and makkaroni cakes the best. while this is not a traditional combination, it has become a favorite jewelry bead.

Visiting New York always culminates in delightful treats from Culpepper. I can’t resist the mauby, turnovers, cassava pone, conkies, and fish cakes. And I must get the souse for my husband—it all brings me back to Barbados. View menu

The workers can be kind of rude but there are at least two people who I have had a good experience with. The food is good, I think it also depends on the time of day that you go. The atmosphere is kind of small for the amount of people that come in but it is what it is, you order wait for your food and go.

**Service:** Reliable and efficient. **Food/Drink:** - The Goat Roti, served with buss up shut paratha roti, was enjoyable and not overly spicy. - The King Fish Cutter, which included lettuce and tomato, was good as well; however, the roll was a bit doughy and slightly sweet, causing it to fall apart towards the end. The Romaine lettuce added freshness, and the fish was tender. - The Macaroni Pie was a solid choice—simple yet satisfying.

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
