Dan-o's Doner - Menu

We've been visiting every year and always looked forward to it, but this time the food was frustratingly bland. What went wrong? I understand take-out due to Covid, but still.

I will miss Dan-o's Doner. Every trip to west side of da Island, I'd have to stop at Dan-o's. Why must we lose the best, high quality places to eat but left with mediocre restaurants? You will be missed! No place like you on da Island. Aloha

Whenever we visit Waimea (we're from Kona), we always make a stop at Dan-o's. If you haven't been there yet, you absolutely should! The service is outstanding, the food is consistently warm and delicious, and they serve the only fries on the island that I can enjoy without any condiments. View menu

I just called to hear they are permanently closed which saddens to hear. I've always enjoyed the staff, food and drive up from the village for an amazing wrap. I can't imagine anything moving into that space that will come close to comparing to the same quality food, staff and consistency.

I've been visiting this restaurant for years, and it's definitely the best spot on the island for a meal. Give it a try; you won't regret it! The owners are wonderful people, and their food is even better. Everything is always fresh, with flavors that are simply incredible. If you're a fan of French fries, theirs are guaranteed to blow you away, and your taste buds will be grateful!

The pita bread was incredibly fresh, and the beef was really lean. Overall, the flavors were great, though it could have used a bit more salt—something I could have easily fixed if I hadn’t been so hungry and devoured it in a flash. The furikake-seasoned fries were the best I've had on the Big Island. There’s a nice bench to sit and enjoy your meal, which was a welcome change for us since we were tired of eating in the car. We're thrilled to have found our new favorite place in Waimea! Without a doubt, this is the best falafel wrap I've ever tasted, especially when paired with the garlic sauce. The falafel is light and bursting with flavor, while the vegetables are fresh and crunchy. Everything is perfectly balanced. The standout item, though, was the garlic fries. We absolutely love garlic, and these fries were packed with flavor—truly irresistible! I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant!

A great place for this fast packaging or a sandwich. It was really good with the chicken breast and the SPL Lebanese garlic sauce. She was a really nice person who gave us some of the best falafels (this is the Veggie option) and sandwiches. Variety of sauces available and you will also get to taste them! Nice place with a really great atmosphere. I especially liked the way the place was decorated with chairs, couches and another atmosphere of decoration. (the spicy Veggiesauce is really spicy)

This was the FIRST place where I ate on arrival in Kona, and the LAST step where I ate on departure. Only AMAZING food, and with portions that would leave you satisfied after the bill. Compared to other places in Hawaii, this joint is cheap. But the owners are not. They are super friendly, really helpful and are generous with the meat. They offer wraps, sandwiches or plates depending on what you want. Overall, the place is cozy and small, but it has its own charm and fun. Prices are fair for Hawaii, and they are all very visible to you designed to see exactly how much you pay (some other places like these details to make a little less obvious).
