"Best catfish place I've been to in a while! Very confortable, roomy dinning areas. One section is a glassed in area, didn't go in there but all other areas looked very clean and well maintained and upkept. Very nice friendly staff. Good location. I could tell it had to be great because of the full parking lot on a Saturday before 12:00! Well worth the and stop! I was still full at dinner! Had catfish, fried oysters, fries, hush puppies and cole slaw. Cole slaw comes with meal as a salad does with a meal at most other restaurants. Huge bowl! And it is the bomb! Made fresh on site, we were told by our server! Very finely chopped. I'd compare it very closely to KFC's as far as taste goes. Highly recommend! Friend had gumbo and shrimp and grits! YUMMMM! Yes, had to taste test! Wish there were a David's in Mobile! Or is there?!? Good eats, people! Get it!! P.S. Just looked, there is a location in Spanish Ft, Milton, Fl. and one other place in south AL. Yeaaaa!! There is a location here in Mobile, by the way! Forgot to mention that when I found out!"

The whole catfish was delicious, especially when paired with the coleslaw.

Excellent service, delicious food, and generous portion sizes! The only downside is that prices have increased; the shrimp plate alone was nearly $20.

Service was outstanding, We had a group of 7 so they put tables together to accommodate us wanting to sit together. Service great, food great and we'll definitely go there next time we're in town!

We arrived at the restaurant right before closing time after attending an event, unsure if they would still be able to accommodate us. However, they were able to serve us, and the service we received was remarkably friendly and quick, especially considering the late hour. The food we enjoyed was incredibly delicious, and the staff was exceptionally welcoming and kind.

I placed an order over the phone, using the online menu, and when I went to pick it up, the total cost was more than $20 higher than I had anticipated! The prices on the website were not consistent with what I was actually charged. Please either update the online menu or make sure customers are not being overcharged. I don't mind paying for quality, but when there is such a significant discrepancy, it feels dishonest. View menu

This restaurant is a fantastic local spot. We were visiting Tuscaloosa and were limited in dining options. Fortunately, we stumbled upon this gem while looking for a non-fast food restaurant. Our server was delightful and we loved the local atmosphere. The cheese platter was outstanding and a must-try. It was incredibly creamy and perfectly indulgent. The sweet tea was delicious and quintessentially southern. We are happy to have found this place and will definitely stop by on our future travels.

We visited David Catfish House with high hopes for a great meal, but our experience was quite disappointing. Upon arrival, no one greeted us or guided us to a table. Eventually, a younger staff member told us we could sit somewhere, so we chose a spot against the wall in a separate room. However, an older employee, possibly the owner, came over and said we couldn't sit there and that everyone needed to be in the same area. It was all very confusing, and we decided to leave. I can't enjoy a meal in such a disorganized atmosphere. Thank you for your time.

"Placed an order today for myself and some dear friends in need. Handed the kid at register a $100. The look of panic on his face was almost humorous if hadn 't been followed with We can 't take hundreds cuz they could be counterfeit. The dumbest thing I 've heard all day. Plus, FYI, it 's absolutely illegal to refuse legal tender, but they clearly aren 't aware. But he 's just doing what he 's told by the not-so-bright management above him. I say, Don 't you have a marker to check it? Plus this is one of the 2013 bills, so not very commonly faked. In fact, another FYI for you BBQ Joe 's, the $20 is the most commonly counterfeited bill, so whatever logic you think you 're using here, isn 't logic at all, but I digress. So, I go to the car to try finding my wallet which was left at home, and of course it 's not there. He says Do you have Apple Pay or CashApp? I have PayPal. You could order on our website. So i go there and spend 10 mins trying find everything that we ordered so I can use paypal. Of course, however, PayPal isn 't an option. They want a credit card. THANKS BUDDY! So I 'm trying really hard to keep my cool here. If I wasn 't there for the sole purpose of doing something kind for someone else, I would 've left and never come back, as will now be the case for me. Again, I digress. So I go bother a nice family that 's sitting down eating. I say, I 'm so sorry to bother you folks, but for some reason they won 't accept a $100 bill for my $60 meal. Could I possibly give you money through PayPal and you pay them with a credit card? I felt horrible bothering these nice folks, however in retrospect, I 'm glad it was another one of their customers who was being inconvenienced for their stupidity. Hear me out here.. the worst part of this that makes it so unbelievable is that this kid said they can accept $100 bills, but only the manager can, who wasn 't there at the moment. Then some other kid says the manager is there now, so I ask to speak to them. Who comes out? Of course it 's your typical multi-colored hair inexperienced kid who rolls their eyes that someone wants to speak to them (she was 10 ' away when asked) because now she might have to pretend to care about her job or even worse, the customer. She has the most smug look on her face like I 'm some sort of jackass for wanting to speak to her. She 's the one who locked-in this review. I can handle stupid. You have to in today 's world. It 's hard to handle smug condescending attitudes from the people who are there to serve others. I start cordial, Hey how are you? She doesn 't answer, and throws up a half second smile to ensure I know she doesn 't give a crap. I continue, I 'm just curious why you guys don 't accept $100 bills. I didn 't put the sign up. (there 's one by the register where I wasn 't at) Ok, well, I just thought you should know it 's illegal to refuse legal tender. I 'm not sure she even understood the words that came out of my mouth. It could be counterfeit. Well he said you could accept it, but that he can 't. Do you have a way to verify if something is real money? We have a marker to check. The stupidity combined with the unnecessary attitude to a customer who, so far, is nothing but patient and kind, and is dressed-up in a suit btw, not some shifty guy who just walked across the highway... started to get to me. So what special skill do you have that enables you use that marker but not him? I 'm just enforcing the policy I 'm told to. Ok, well, maybe you should let, whoever you answer to, know that it 's illegal to refuse legal tender, and that doing so could actually get you in trouble, legally. Maybe you could just tell your boss that some customer was really upset over it, please. ok Thanks! Have a wonderful day! I feel really bad for the grown men who have to work under this kid. I will deter everyone I can from this place. I 'll forever promote Black Powder Smokehouse instead, which was already my honest thoughts anyway."
