"Well here I am back at it again. And BayBee this spot did not disappoint. First let say thank you to Roxanne who was our server and she was attentive and very helpful when we asked for suggestions. Big Ups to cooks on the Cooking Staff for serving fresh delicious veggies. Almost like it was farm to table. Ok so let's get into about the spot in detail. We ordered cocktails (Oaxaca Old Fashioned and Smoke and Mirrors). One word . Yea yea I know who goes to a Fusion Mexican Spot and orders an Old Fashion (this guy). Never been a big Margarita person. But I do like Tequila all day everyday. They have a hella variety. Apps we ordered was Queso and chips and Chicharrones. One word........Flavortown. And for Entrees wifey order the Special (Steak chimichanga) and I had the Taco Dinner plate. Now this is where this gets weird.......Beef Brisket and Fried Chicken Tacos. Mannnnnnnnnn they were . Beef Brisket was so damn moist and flavorful. I could've bathed in the marinade and/or seasoning they made for it. And the Fired Chicken Tacos were on Hit. Not salty and with the lime and shredded Cabbage Slaw added to the freshnessness (yes that is a word). So you may ask why the four stars instead of five. If you read my reviews they are more for personal preference vice the establishment itself. Cons: The spot is tucked off on a corner and could miss it if you don't pay attention. Second I am NOT a Tajin fan at all. Most of the food menu requires it. So make sure you ask for no Tajin if you are like me. And Parking is hit or miss. Didn't see a parking lot or parking spaces beside the street. Pros: damn good Cocktail Menu. Food is damn azz good. Wouldn't even know they existed if it wasn't for Stormy Blue (S/O @_StormyBlue) on IG. I REFUSED TO EAT MEXICAN ANYTHING IN VA being a Cali Dude. I have food my Mexican Food Spot away from the Crib. I will be back on a pay day."

Ordered a chicken Burrito and there was no chicken in it and extra beans (despite ask for no beans). It is obvious that they have cut on more expensive ingredients to reduce costs. Avoid all costs.

Excellent place for lunch. We stopped on a Sunday afternoon. Parking on the street is limited, but a large parking lot is available on Lancer Street. Short walk to the Mellen St. Margaritas. We ordered Brisket Nachos and a pig quesadilla. Very generous portions. Very cool place and the trip to Phoebus worth.

Loved this spot! Went here for a work lunch and the food was quick! It's a small restaurant, perfect for small groups or a quick bite to eat. They have a small menu but good options. I ordered the Taco Dinner $15 for lunch this included 3 tacos (different meats of your choice) and rice/beans. I thought it was a wonderful deal! The waitress and the cooks were friendly. The queso here is delicious don't miss out!

Stopped in as part of Sunday Funday barhop with visiting friend from Massachusetts. We had brunch earlier, so we just had snacks. The trio salsa and chips was great and plenty. My friend loved the grilled and smothered corn. We were more focused on the flavored strawberry and mango margaritas on the rocks and Patron tequila shots. Atmosphere is great, small, quaint and not quiet. Ok to talk, laugh and enjoy yourself without feeling disturbing to others. Music was good this day as well. Happy Sunday!! Thanks, Roxanne!! The food was salted excessively, and that was the first restaurant where I didn't even eat half of my food. The service was good, and my waitress did good work. The location was nice and I was excited to eat. The place has a really good mood, but I wish the food was half as decent as the view of the restaurant. The food is a bit expensive, but the portions are quite large, so it makes sense, but with the taste of food I would have preferred smaller portions. It is definitely not worth your time when you are used on more authentic Mexican foods. Chipotle tastes much better and costs less money, which is honestly disappointing.

A local hole in the wall with good food. There is a small bar area and few small tables that line the opposite wall. Very impressed by the Tequila selection. Bartender and staff were very friendly and polite. We started with chips and queso, the quest had a white/light yellow color and just enough fast, well paired with the crispy chips. For Entrees we had the brisket quesadilla (10/10!!! and taco platter (3 streets tacos of choice Not a fan of shrimps or fried fish tacos. The shrimps are to be darkened, but they were cooked more simply with butter. The Brisket taco was great! Overall, I would highly recommend the Brisket Queensadilla, which is large enough to share with someone else.

This is the second time I have been here, well worth the visit. Very small building so there might be a wait time especially on Wednesday nights, margarita night. Food is delicious, my husband got the 3 tacos with chips and salsa and i got the cuban with rice and beans. Delicious!!! Wait staff is very knowledgeable of the food, specials, greeted us as soon as we entered the door, offered us a drink if we had to wait and a menu so we could see the specials. I highly recommend this place, a lot of fun and you will not be sorry. Kinda pricy but the food speaks for itself. The people who run this, I believe run Dead Rise in Ft. Monroe. I just heard someone talking and we have been there as well... View menu

We were there for lunch and had the tacos. You get two and have your choice of brisket, pork or chicken. We tried them all. Ingredients were all fresh and the tacos were stuffed. It comes with a side of rice and beans or chips and salsa. We tried the rice and beans. The rice tasted good with the spices they used but tasted like it came from a rice cooker instead of cooked over the stove. Nothing bad about that, I cook Spanish rice on the stove and use other spices, etc. The pinto beans were cooked well and not mushy. We also tried the guacamole and chips. Chips tasted freshly made on the premises. The avocado had a few spices that were different from what I'm used to. It was really good and...

We went on a Sunday afternoon, only 3 other tables filled, definitely a bar scene but if you go during the day it is family friendly, we had a 13 year old with us and the table next to us had a babyVery friendly and attentive wait staff, food took a second to come out but we all ordered something different, it was all hot when it came out so no complaints on the wait, it wasn't long for only being one chefThe food was amazing, hands down the best taco I have ever had. The camaron, blackened shrimp taco was so good I wish I had ordered more. Shrimp was perfectly cooked, sauce was amazing, corn and cotija cheese was fantastic on top. The grilled chicken taco was great, the chicken melted in yo...

"Yesterday, my sisters treated me to Brunch for my birthday at Venture, where I had previously eaten at for lunch and had fond memories of (pre-pandemic). Unfortunately, it's changed, and not necessarily for the better in my view. I remember it as being a farm-to-table gem, where you could find innovative and healthy options as a regular thing. Maybe you still can achieve those but just not at Brunch on a Sunday. I first thought I'd get the Cherries Jubilee French Toast; but upon finding out from our server that the cherries were going to be the consistency of cherry pie filling I searched for something I hoped would be healthy. I picked from the regular Brunch menu the King's Plate because I figured the root vegetable hash would offer some tasty and relatively healthy ingredients. The flavors of the root vegetables were sadly overpowered by the excessive garlic in the heavy sausage gravy. The homemade biscuit was a perfect accompaniment, however. It just would've been nice to have some fresh fruit served with it. There was nothing on the regular or particular Sunday Brunch specials menu to recommend it for a 2nd try. I may give regular lunch another try. Or I may go somewhere I'm more confident of getting a healthy, fresh, reasonably priced meal. The service was great, and as always, I tipped our server of her effort, not my satisfaction with the food. There's great potential at Venture, and I always remembered it as being a great destination restaurant- one you'll drive more than the usual miles to get to- but it needs some work to recreate a more universally enticing menu."
