"I absolutely love this place! I am originally from the south so my mom and I would go looking around to find food that would remind us of home and this was easily one of our favorites. It was the last place I got to go with her before she passed away and now it’s my tradition to visit here every Mother’s Day and I’m always so well taken care of. I have to be honest and say I always get the fried catfish but there’s a reason why… it’s incredible. Perfectly fried with just the right amount of batter and not greasy, just wonderfully crispy. The fried okra is the best side to pair with it. The hush puppies, while smaller than I’m used to provides a nice crunch and packed with spices. I have to be careful with cornbread that comes before the meal because I would simply just order that and get full! On this occasion specifically I asked to surprise me with a sauce to dip and they knocked it out of the park with this tangy comeback style sauce. And just look at that refill they gave me of my soda, I don’t know how he even carried that back haha Overall, I love this place and there’s simply nowhere else that I’d rather go on my yearly visit. Even sneak in a couple times a year extra just because it is that good."

It's like eating at a great food truck but in an industrial complex in an awkward office space. Food is 5 stars, but the dining area leaves you feeling a little out of place.

The best customer service, and the best top notch food. I drove from San Diego and please it was definitely worth it. I will continue to make that drive. I was in town for the weekend, all the way from Bakersfield, Ca. found Felix bbq with soul from searching the internet. The atmosphere was great aswell as the music. I ordered 1/2 rack St. Louis ribs Cat fish combo, collard greens and red beans and rice. The red beans and rice didn't taste good dry and no flavor, they brought me Baby back ribs instead of what I ordered (St. Louis Ribs) the Collard greens were good and the cat fish was good also! After I got the correct ribs I ordered they weren't cooked long enough no flavor and tough. And the overall San Diego area landscape of American barbecue joints, Felix's stands out as an excellent example of Louisiana and Southern BBQ. This is legitimate barbecue: actually smoked, and lovingly/ competently so.
