"Realistically I'd give this restaurant a 3.5 but that isn't an option and 4 stars is too high. I had the chicken entree with BBQ heirloom carrots and the gluten free mac and cheese for context, if you order an entree you get to pick a base proteinand two sides (or you can order three vegetarian sides as an entree). Although I only ate here once and I'm making anassumption, the takeaway from my meal is that Flower Child excels at the more creative, adventurous dishes on their menu and notso much with the more run of the mill plates. Case in point: the chicken and mac and cheese were both bland in my opinion. Thechicken was a bit dry as well. The BBQ heirloom carrots, however, were the standout of the meal. I'd never seen carrots friedlike that, and the avocado ranch was delicious. Luckily, there was plenty of the wonderful sauce to go around, which helpedremedy the flavor of the chicken. I think it's possible to have a good meal at this place, but unfortunately you can't justthrow a dart at the menu and expect to land on something satisfying."

The food here look and taste healthy, but not always delicious. Flavor is mostly bland. I guess you really can't have it both ways.

The restaurant was extremely clean, and the staff were very friendly. The quality of the ingredients was evident. I ordered the Thai Dye and Bird is the Word, and both dishes were fresh and packed with flavor, giving a healthy vibe. I highly recommend this place!

I love that this place exists. It feels like it is trying to be very earth friendly with a lot of vegetarian options. I ordered 3 sides: the sweet potatoes, the Mac and cheese and the cauliflower risotto. Then I also tried the chocolate pudding. I reallyliked the cauliflower dish?nice flavoring, was probably my favorite that I ordered.

I absolutely love that this restaurant is here! It truly feels dedicated to being environmentally friendly with plenty of vegetarian options. I ordered three sides: sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, and cauliflower risotto. I also tried the chocolate pudding. The cauliflower dish stood out to me with its lovely flavor; it was probably my favorite from what I ordered. View menu

As someone with celiac disease, I tried the Glow Bowl, gluten-free mac and cheese, and gluten-free lemon olive oil cake. The Glow Bowl was fantastic—full of flavor, satisfying, and delicious. The mac and cheese, however, was rather bland. I added some pepper to try to improve it, but it was still just mediocre; I wouldn't order it again. On the other hand, the lemon olive oil cake was amazing! Most gluten-free cakes tend to be dry and have a cardboard texture, but this one was perfect; you couldn't even tell it was gluten-free.

Great food and staff was great. I've always seen flower child pop up on my feed as a recommendation for eating aesthetics are super cute) so I stopped by with a friend for lunch. It was delicious! I had the steak entrée w/ watermelon/ tomato salad sweet potatoes/ bok choy. She had the taco salad. AND ???? corn ribs its corn! ???? before they went away for the season, which reminded me of an elote style seasoning sooo good! Everything came out in a timely manner and was so good. I'll definitely be coming back! Such a cute place too in the heart of Tysons. Insta SpicyAivy

Vegan Friendly! Super Healthy and Delicious Food! I’ve been visiting DC for the weekend, and after looking for vegan restaurants, we decided to try this place and we definitely didn’t regret it. The quality of the food is outstanding—everything is always fresh and incredibly tasty. My favorite dish is the Mother Earth. It features a delightful mix of greens, grains, quinoa, mushrooms, and avocado, all brought together with a sauce that makes it the ultimate dish in the world. Additionally, the staff are very welcoming, and I absolutely love the interior design of the restaurant. View menu

From my one visit, it seems that Flower Child shines with its more creative and adventurous dishes, while the more traditional options could use some improvement. For example, both the chicken and mac and cheese tasted rather bland to me. The chicken was also slightly dry. On the other hand, the BBQ heirloom carrots were the highlight of the meal. I’d never encountered fried carrots like that before, and the avocado ranch sauce was fantastic. Thankfully, there was plenty of that delicious sauce to go around, which helped enhance the flavor of the chicken. I do think it's possible to have a good meal here, but unfortunately, you can't just randomly pick something off the menu and expect it t...

I used to love Flower Child and frequented it at least once or twice a week over the past few months. However, I've noticed a decline in the quality of the food lately. I've frequently received burnt sweet potatoes in my Mother Earth bowl, which aren't healthy and should really be discarded rather than served to customers. Additionally, the portion sizes have been inconsistent; during my last visit, I only received two pieces of sweet potato. This time, my Mother Earth bowl (which is my usual order) was missing the sauce and had barely any cucumbers, which was disappointing. I hope they can address these issues, but I may have to look for a new go-to spot since the food isn't as good as it o...

"I recently ate dinner on a slow Monday evening with about a dozen customers in the bar area. A nice barkeep greeted me a minute or so after I sat and attended to me cordially throughout the evening. Based on my good experience from earlier in the year, Ibasically repeated my order from then with a change or two: Blood orange spritz to start with a house salad, a crab cake entreewith mash and asparagus, ten ounce sirloin medium rare with baked potato and Brussel sprouts, and chocolate mousse cake tofinish. My drink came promptly and tasted good overall even if I would like a little more blood orange flavor. The house saladlooked and tasted fresh with crispy croutons. A little less dressing at the bottom would give this salad a better mix ofdressing to vegetables. Fresh cracked pepper instead of the small shakers would be better as well. Crab cakes had a pleasingbroiled texture, satisfying crab to binder ratio, a thermally warm temperature, and a light taste. I wonder if a little morelump crab instead of mostly backfin might elevate these cakes a touch more. Asparagus had good grill flavor and texture. Mashedpotatoes tasted like they had a little too much salt and/or dairy in them but were still quite palatable. Steak temperature wasmedium rare by touch and between medium rare to medium by sight and had good grill flavor. I was glad to see this baked potatocome with a decent salt crust on the skin and appropriate accoutrements, most of which I used. Overall the texture was pleasingeven if the potato could have been hotter on arrival. The Brussel sprouts were portioned and cooked well. I could have done witha little less salt to bring more flavor since this side included prosciutto and mustard. The chocolate mousse cake had a smoothmousse with plenty of chocolate flavor and a more moist cake than last time. The raspberry ice cream served as a welcomecomplement. My bill was just under $100 excluding tax and tip. I could certainly return if I were in the a"
