I have been to Gertie's a number of times now and have never failed to be impressed. The food prepared here by Rob is some of the best I have had and will long remember these meals. The wine alone is worth the visit but paired with the food it is an experience not just a meal. If I had to recommend any meal it would be all of it. Treat yourself and stop in for a glass and you will never be disappointed.

We visited Gertie's last night and had an incredible experience with both the food and service! Elise was exceptionally knowledgeable about the wonderful wine selections and pairings. We ordered the cheese boards, mushrooms in cream sauce, pasta and meatballs, and the beef Wellington, and everything was outstanding! The waitstaff was attentive and helpful, and the quality of the food was excellent. If you appreciate high-quality European fine dining, this is definitely a place to check out. It's a small restaurant and could easily be overlooked, as it is tucked away near the movie theatre in uptown.

Charming bistro ambiance. The octopus entree was undoubtedly the best preparation of octopus I have ever tasted—remarkably tender with a nearly buttery finish. Truly exceptional. The only minor critique I have is regarding the pistachio pate. While it was beautifully presented, it was somewhat challenging to assemble the pate and accompaniments on small, torn pieces of bread. I suggest replacing the olive slices with olive tapenade, and substituting the currants with currant jam or conserve. Additionally, serving slices of the outstanding focaccia would allow diners to cut or tear their own pieces to the desired size.

I wanted to love this place because it’s less than 5 minutes from my house and appeared to be a nice spot for dinner in Gig Harbor. I have visited twice before giving this review. The place is well decorated and has all the makings for a great dining experience. However, we have had poor experiences on both visits we felt generally unwelcome both times.The first time we visited, it took 3 staff members ~5 awkward minutes to decide where to seat us even though several tables and bar seats were available.
