"I ordered the fried catfish Po'boy, seafood gumbo, crab soup, green beans, and blackened catfish. Everything was served hot and fresh, and the Po'boy was absolutely fantastic—a must-try! However, there were a few things that stood out. While the gumbo was tasty, the rice was a bit undercooked and tough. The crab soup could have used a bit more salt and seasoning, as it felt more like a half-and-half mix with crab bits than a rich soup. The green beans were overcooked and contained bacon, which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. I visited about an hour before closing, so I’m definitely open to giving it another shot. In hindsight, I probably should have just stuck with the Po'boy. Overall, the food was decent, especially considering the lack of options in the area beyond fast-food chains, and I would return again."

Hamburger steaks used to be good here. Now they're the size of a hamburger patty, the meat's hard, and the gravy seems like it comes out of a bag. I won't be ordering that again. View menu

This place is my go to when I'm in Raceland and it has never disappointed. Fresh local shrimp dishes, great burgers and they even have crab cakes on the menu. It's located in the same building as a convenience store but don't let that scare you off. Quality fresh food.

Such a gem close to the Ochsner hospital and rouses. Seafood was fresh, we all got different orders i.e., blackened shrimp, fried oysters, etc. Order was accurate, food was not overly spicy, and very fresh.....gave 4 different flavor orders and all orders were accurate. Ask for the house made ranch dressing....fantastic. Also sweet potato fries made fresh! Great experience overall and all wait staff were attentive and kind...especially our waitress. We are from Chalmette, LA and New Orleans, so we know good food. View menu

I recently moved to the area so I was looking for a place to get a bite to eat. It was late on a Saturday evening and I felt like I wanted a good burger. Boy was I surprised. Didn't think a restaurant in a gas station would be stellar but I was wrong. They were cleaning the restaurant preparing to close but still invited me in lovingly. Everyone was super nice and the place was just as clean. My burger belted my expectations!! If you're in the Raceland area, give Griffins a try. You will not be disappointed. Can't wait to return!

I have to admit this isn't my favorite place to eat. It is tucked inside a gas station and I'm not crazy about eating fried foods. I went because my family was going. I got a grilled shrimp ceasar salad. The shrimp were ok. The salad came in a fried taco salad bowl which was not explained on the menu, so I'm assuming a I paid more than I would have if they would have put it on a plate. The salad was good though (nothing special). I was full even tough I didn't eat there taco shell bowl. The service was good. Didn't really like having to go into the gas station to use the bathroom. Over all, I would eat there again if others chose it, but not my first choice.
