"Schnitzel Sandwich and Shawarma Sandwich were very fresh tasting and well prepared. One constructive comment would be that the ordering process does not make it clear that the "Salad" options come on the sandwich itself and not on the side. We saw "fries" listed on the list of salad options and fully expected they would be on the side. We would specifically not have chosen that option on the sandwich knowing that. The menu is also a little pricey for what you get, but the food is good so Id order again- just not all the time."

We ordered a shwarma sandwich, falafel, and baklava. The sandwiches were enjoyable, but unfortunately, the baklava was dry and lacked flavor.

I order from Doordash often though I have never left a review, but I had to for this meal. The falafel sandwich with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and garlic mayo was just delicious. The thick-cut french fries were a bit expensive but they were sooo good!

The food was shockingly overpriced and of low quality. The lamb and beef lacked any flavor, and the beef itself was of poor quality, with tough veins that made it quite chewy. Additionally, most of the meat was undercooked. Spending over $70 for a meal consisting of just six pieces of meat and some subpar sides is unacceptable!

Both the Shawarma and the Famous Falafel Sandwich were delicious, with excellent seasoning. However, I wished they were larger for the price. After finishing the $20 Shawarma Sandwich, I still wasn't full, and neither was my cousin after her Famous Falafel Sandwich. The toppings on the pita were tasty, but they could have been distributed more evenly; most of them were concentrated at the bottom of the pita pocket. View menu

"Maybe it’s just me, but when dining at most restaurants nowadays it feels like a very sterile and transactional process make a reservation, order the food, pay the check, and leave that is until you dine at La Cipollina. Whether it’s your first time dining there, or you’re a regular, every staff member treats guests as if you’re part of their family. This stems from the belief and the training of the owner Anthony. Anthony has had this spot for a LONG time and it seems as though his passion for food and hospitality has not waned in the last 30 years. It’s great to see staff that is excited to be there, to tell you about the specials, and to make you feel as you’re celebrating a special occasion each and every time you dine there. The food is consistently good and that’s bc the quality of the ingredients doesn’t change. As the price of everything goes up, it must be hard for a restaurant to stay consistent, but somehow La Cipollina delivers the meticulous attention to detail that we’ve all come to know and love. I’ve heard some local Freehold folks call this a “special” occasion spot, and this couldn’t be further from the truth. Is it a great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, sure but it’s just as awesome to celebrate being alive on a random Thursday night and ordering the fresh mutz and the gnocci thank me later"
