"I don't know if the restaurant is under new management, I hadn't been able to eat here in about a year due to losing my taste and smell from covid and was excited to order my favorite red curry tofu again! Over the past month I've provbabyl ordered it twice a week, lol. I noticed the rice portion was smaller but didn't mind that as much as the curry sauce shortage, which has gotten lower each time. I had asked for an extra side of sauce (in the previous years this was always free, for about half a cup) but I was charged an extra $2.26. I spoke to the woman at the front desk on the phone and she said they are charging this much now. I asked to please take it off the bull and give me the standard amount of sauce unless it'd be a full cup. She ended up saying she'd give the full cup. It just arrived, I have no extra sauce and $2 in cash taped to my order as a refund. Fine, no problem. What really upset me was seeing there was not even a quarter inch of sauce at the bottom of my meal. This is not the standard for any curry dish, and I am feeling like I was intentionally given less because they were stressed about the sauce refund, but even if that's an honest portion they give now, it is not enough and the flavor isn't as pleasant, the tofu is bland and oily tasting from not having enough sauce to absorb. Hanami was my #1 favorite Middletown restaurant, but I don't think I will order from here anymore, too much has changed and none of it is very good, but I appreciate all the delicious meals of the past years that I had eaten here so I'll leave it at 3 stars!"

It was a nice place with friendly and welcoming staff. The food was decent, but I was disappointed when my steak arrived well done since I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked. The fried ice cream was acceptable too. I would consider going back again.

What a wonderful place! Server Lili crafted a Lychee Tini that was absolutely exceptional – the best I've ever had. The food was bursting with flavor, from the Gyoza to the lobster tails. The server was incredibly nice and even accommodated my request to make some dishes milder. Overall, it was a delightful experience that made the 30-minute drive to this charming little spot well worth it.

I wasn't able to edit my last review on DoorDash, but I meant to give Hanami five stars. While my dish didn't meet my expectations, the staff was friendly and respectful, doing their best to explain the situation. The staff is truly wonderful, though I do wish the owner hadn't reduced portion sizes while increasing prices. Despite that, I still consider Hanami the best Asian Fusion restaurant in Middletown. This is my favorite restaurant. I had a miscommunication last time I ordered and left a lower review because of it and because I was sick and in a poor mood. I tried asking door dash if I could delete the poor review but they said it is not possible, so I am sorry about that original poor review and take responsibility for it. And thank you all for being so kind and understanding. I feel really bad about last time and want to publicly apologize. You all always serve amazing food and have good attitudes. I appreciate Hanami restaurant a lot.

The food here is fantastic, but the wait—even for a pickup—was a bit long. That said, I’ll make sure to plan better next time. Their Singapore noodles and volcano salad are absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor that delights all your senses. It’s hard to find a place in the area with such satisfying food, a clean environment, and friendly staff, but Hanami exceeded my expectations in all three areas. I even overheard a table's order, and the waitress was incredible, taking the time to explain the entire menu and suggesting tailored food swaps to meet their preferences. Truly impressive!
