"I used to visit this restaurant frequently nine years ago when I lived in Altamonte Springs. Recently, I returned to the area and decided to dine here again. I'm pleased to see that the restaurant is still open and has even expanded! The food was just as delicious as I remembered. However, I was a bit disappointed with the portion sizes of the side dishes. I ordered tostones and only received three small pieces. My side of yuca frita was also quite small. My friend ordered maduros and got only four tiny, overcooked pieces. That's my only complaint. Everything else was wonderful. I recall that they used to serve larger side portions, so perhaps they can take this feedback into account for future improvements."

My family and I have visited Heber's Cuban Cafe many times and it remains one of our top favorites. The menu offers a great variety of authentic Cuban flavors, the service is excellent, the atmosphere is clean, and the prices are very reasonable.

Glad I finally decide to try this Cafe been in the area for 2 years and today was the day. I had a breakfast sandwich and went back and brought my husband chicken and rice with rice and beans both meals were so good so good definitely recommend you trying now!!! Will be back!

Without a doubt, the best meal I’ve ever enjoyed! The spices are perfectly balanced, and you can genuinely feel the passion in every bite. This is by far the top spot for authentic Cuban cuisine in the region. If you want a warm, welcoming vibe with great company and mouthwatering Spanish dishes, Hebers Cuban Cafe is the place to go!

Went for the Cuban sandwich and was disappointed all meats served are turkey based. I have gotten better Cuban Sandwiches East Colonial, Miami , LA Carreta, Calle Ocho, Puerto Rico ????????, and New York City. The only thing worth drinking is thecoffee, then again if you love turkey come. I like authentic food. No substitute. God bless. View menu

This was my first and last time ordering from them. The ropa vieja was extremely dry and overly salty. I've never encountered a dry ropa vieja before; it's supposed to be a stew. The empanada shell was too thick, unlike the empanadas you find in Miami. I was very disappointed because I was eagerly looking forward to enjoying some good Cuban food, but this was not it.

I'm a little disappointed as I was looking forward to eating here as there's not too many Spanish restaurants around. I had the croquette and I have to say it taste like pure flour served with ceasar salad dressing. My hubby ordered onion rings and as a side sauce they serve you ceasar salad dressing as well. The Cuban sandwich is not a real Cuban because it's served with deli cold cuts and not the real deal like pernil and whole ham. Soup, salad and rice was good.

I was a bit disappointed with my experience, as I had been looking forward to dining here due to the limited number of Spanish restaurants in the area. I tried the croquette, but it tasted mainly like flour, accompanied by Caesar salad dressing. My husband ordered onion rings, which also came with Caesar dressing as the dipping sauce. The Cuban sandwich was not authentic, as it was made with deli meats instead of the traditional pernil and whole ham. However, the soup, salad, and rice were quite good. View menu

I?m not sure if this place changed owners but they used to be amazing! We will order from them regularly however the last 3 times the service food has been awful! Food is not like it was before! Size of portions are considerably smaller quality has gone down the drain! Last time we ordered tostones; we got old, burnt tostones baby size!! We gave them 3 chances and all three was a disappointment!! We will never order again from them we do not recommend them to anyone! There not what they use to be!! Food is not worth the money spent!!!

I love the food here. The best Cuban food I've ever ate. I'm addicted to their number 3 plate which is Ropa Vieja (shredded beef with onions) with your choice of white or yellow rice, beans (two choices as well), and side which I always get the fried sweet plantains (maduros), always served with a complimentary salad. I no longer live in FL but every time I visit my sister in apopka I eat here. Quick service, friendly, clean restaurant and best of all AMAZING CUBAN FOOD!! Ate here with my husband yesterday for dinner, he lived in Miami for a few years, and he said this is definitely one of the best Cuban restaurants he has ever ate at. He loved it as well. Must visit.

"I came here after all my fellow yelpers posted about the event that ended two days ago. Tucked away in a corner of a shopping plaza on Semoran and south wekiva road this hidden gem is a great dining option for a wide spread menu. We started with the carb lovers unite. The biscuits were warm(ish), similar to Cracker Barrel style, but the cinnamon maple butter was cold hard- breaking apart with every attempt to spread it on 5/10. The corn bread was a 2/10, it was dry and crumbled so much that you couldn't pick it up to bite it, literally you had to eat it with a spoon to prevent it from spilling everywhere. The pineapple spread tasted great. My sister had the chicken fried plate with onion straws and collard greens.... The chicken was good 8/10 as were the onion straws 7/10. The collard greens were a pass for all four of us at the table 0/10. They were microwave warm, tasted canned and lacked seasoning. I had the true love with meatloaf crumbles. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS 15/10!!! My daughter had the Boozie Bread with turkey bacon and cheese eggs. The French toast was described as crispy and the eggs were meah. Scored a 6/10. The chicken pot pie wasn't the typical pot pie. It didn't have crust at all, just a biscuit on top of very tasty goulash, 7/10 Based off of our dining experience we skipped the desserts. The sweet tea was a good balance and not too sweet. I was satisfied with our trip as was my party. We would eat here again if we were in the area."

"I would give this place less than one start if it was possible, my wife had dinner there last night and it was a horrible experience, she was seated with a group of friends when she felt something on her leg and she looked down and there was a cockroach crawling up her leg she brushed the side and screamed and literally jumped over the table no one else saw the cockroach and thought perhaps she was making the story up but a few minutes later the same thing happened to someone else and they were able to kill the cockroach at that point. They had the waiter come over and all he said was oh I guess it must've come through an open door but there was no door open and there was no apology or offer to buy their food or move them to another table he just acted like it was something that was a common occurrence. The final straw was the food was very substandard she had a shrimp dish which was very expensive and consisted of about four or five shrimp, it looked more like an appetizer than an actual meal, her final bill was $50 and she went away hungry. Finally I would just reiterate that the service was also incredibly poor the waiter asked for their food order and brought out their food before they brought any drinks even water to them and was very inattentive the entire time. THE EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE FROM START TO FINISH, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE !!!!"
