"We had a reservation at 4:30 pm for Easter Dinner. We wanted an earlier reservation but was told there was nothing available until 4:30. When we arrived the restaurant was almost empty. We had the Four o’clock Snack Platter, which was a good assortment of country ham, cheese and accoutrements. We had several specialty cocktails which were less than generous and just okay, but not outstanding. One was just left at the table unfinished after one taste. I had the Fishing Cottage which contained mostly cod. The shrimp did not have much flavor and I did not see or taste any salmon. The “ creamy veloute” did not add anything to the flavor of the dish. Overall it was not seasoned and very bland. Basically it tasted like bland baked cod, if anything. We also ordered the Bourbon braised beef short rib. At first glance, it did not look like short ribs, but rather had an appearance of a thick roast. It was boneless. It was not tender, but stringy, with no hint of bourbon and very little flavor. Definitely lacking the rich taste of braised short ribs from our previous experiences . The Smoked pork chop came with crispy sweet potatoes which were very good and the highlight of that entree. The brussel sprouts were very good! The Cheesecake with persimmon marmalade was delicious. And Peanut butter Pie was good. Overall really disappointed with the entrees and experience, as we were again looking forward to Chef Quita’s expertise."

I went to this restaurant for Easter and had the most amazing deviled eggs with crab meat and tomato soup!

Everything was wonderful but be prepared for slow service when they are slammed. The food is worth the wait.

I really enjoyed the Beet Salad with Grilled Chicken at this restaurant! The flavors were fantastic, and the service and atmosphere were great as well.

Been here many times but lately they are lackluster at best. May be time for an overhaul of menu/focus/mission from Ouida before this one goes downhill any further. View menu

Our lunch was delicious as were the cocktails. Corey was an attentive and fun server and we will be back! I eat lower carb and felt my Cobb salad with salmon is likely the best salad I’ve ever had… so good!

The food here is always great. It wasn't today. I only ate about half of it. The potatoes were burned and they replaced them. The eggs were fried and the casting and hoe cakes were cold. The meal was not on their usual standards.

Best restaurant in Lexington. Consistently excellent food and service, and very generous portions. Fresh seafood options are great the steamed mussels were a treat! For dessert, the chocolate torte is to die for. : New GM Casey is very friendly and welcoming. View menu

The staff appeared unhappy to be working there. The bartender neglected to bring my wife's drink, even though the place was almost empty. My wife ordered the steak frites, which lacked flavor. I chose the short ribs, which tasted strange, were tough and unpleasant. I ended up feeling sick and spending the night in the bathroom. This was the worst dining experience we have ever had.

The food at Honeywood was fabulous different!! The potatoes w/ramps are amazing, the French fries are the best we 've ever had, the beetloaf (grated beets) had a great taste and sauce, the tofu was crispy yummy, the smashburger was great. Our group of 4 would have everything we ordered again. One of us was celebrating a birthday and the server brought a surprise scoop of vanilla ice cream with a lit candle along with the slice of peanut butter pie (that was being shared among the 4 of us since we were so full). That was a very nice touch. Our server, Lindsay, was great. A wonderful experience all the way around!

"Update 8.20.22: One of the managers from Malones called me after reading my two-star review. He was courteous and apologized for our recent visit (read below . I wanted to update my review with FIVE stars. An establishment that cares for their customers deserves a pass now and then. We will be back. I’ve added some photos of some of our visits over the years along with the letter from corporate. Good job, Malones! Original review: First, let me start by saying we’ve been fans of Malone’s for over twenty years, and with four children, we’ve always counted it as a splurge, but Malone’s is their favorite restaurant to celebrate birthdays. We are always pleased with their exceptional service, every table having several waiters to help, and even the manager stopping by your table to check if you had a great experience. Last night, (8.13.22 our daughter was turning 21 and like usual, Malone’s was her choice, talking about it for weeks and planning what she would order. When our dinners arrived I was immediately surprised at how poorly plated my daughters twin filets looked. They were slapped on a plate, not cleaned up — gravy spread all over — making it look like it came straight from a frozen food box. Normally, we take photos of our choices but I didn’t even bother since her plate looked so unappetizing. Also, she ordered a baked potato that arrived on a separate plate, making it very awkward, switching from one large plate to another and so on. I was so sad for her. I’m not sure exactly what happened last night but it wasn’t what we expected AT ALL. Other issues — my husbands beer arrived midway through his meal, the birthday cookie dessert was melted (since the waiter set it on the hostess desk while he served water and bread to another table . We told him NUMEROUS times that we were NOT in a hurry so there was little need for him to bring the dessert with another tables drinks… it made no sense . Speaking of the waiter—despite the several snafus, we tipped correctly (20% , because we know hospitality is a difficult job, especially on a busy Friday evening. Having said that, he wore a larger mask, making it difficult to hear him in the loud dining area. He also wore kitchen food-grade gloves (the noisy, uncomfortable ones , and honestly, neither of those things bothered us. The issue was watching him fumble while wearing the gloves, pulling an open soy sauce bottle straight from his apron pocket — really? I declined the sauce. If he was so worried about germs, having the open bottle in his pocket is a red flag that being sanitary was not his main goal. The whole thing was just odd. If you’re going to wear a mask and gloves—fine—but choose a job in the restaurant where you aren’t expected to be heard or understood. The best part tho, I’m kidding, was going to the ladies room to find NO toilet paper —NONE—in either stall, and having to use the only two remaining seat covers as a waste paper. C’mon? The floors were wet and I’ve already broken a hip in my life so that was frustrating getting out of there. Was the food good, aside from the steak, yes, it was. Will we be back? I don’t think we will for a celebration. Which is sad. I hope this location can give us a better experience if we return. We were all just disappointed, and the manager would have known had they simply stopped by our table and asked. You know, like they usually do."
