"Hughies is known for their shaking beef and it did not disappoint!! My only complaint was I wish there was more of it in the vermicelli bowl... The plates had a lot more beef so I felt like the bowl was kind of lacking. The salad itself was refreshing and crunchy, perfectly dressed. The beer selection was great and the yuzu ginger had a great zing to it. Service is seat yourself and we were served very quickly. The country fried steak was large and absolutely smothered in gravy. They also have heaping portions of salad. It was hard to eat it all which is a good problem."

The food, beer, wine and atmosphere of Hughies is unbeatable. The best answer to Pho, on Saturday, is extrondary. A must for everyone in the Houston area.

Easily the best fried rice I've ever had. The waitress was SUPER friendly, and they have a solid selection of beer. Happy hour menu looked very promising too.Food: 5/5 View menu

The Shaking Surf Turf salad was one of the best salads I’ve ever had. Tremendous flavor in the salad and proteins.Spicy shrimp and crawfish fried rice was also incredible. Not pictured we had the sweet chili sauce wings. Above avg wing but the sauce put it over the top. Crispy dumplings were also pretty good with top notch dipping sauce.

Misters, outdoor fans and shade they understand the necessities for outdoor dining in Houston! Nice neighborhood restaurant with a mix of Vietnamese dishes and American bar food. Only disappointment was they didn’t have Pho. Apparently it’s served in the mornings and they sell out by afternoon according to the waitress. Also, not a lot of noodles in the vermicelli bowl. Tasty food and worth the visit. View menu

I typically don't enjoy fried rice, but the fried rice at this restaurant is outstanding. I'm not sure what their secret is, but the food is absolutely delicious. They also offer vegetarian options, and I tried the tofu rice plate which was full of flavor and very fresh. This might be my top Vietnamese restaurant in Houston! The pick-up process is convenient - you just drive up and they bring your order out to you. I highly recommend this place.

The food was amazing, the service was fantastic, and the selection of beers was impressive. We found it on Yelp after we drove out of Florida all day. Our server was incredibly helpful in creating recommendations from the menu, brought ice water for my dog, and was very attentive, although an hour away from closing. We've never been made to feel, hurry or hurry. The best part of my opinion was the massive vegetarian menu options. Stop reading this and go to Hughies!

"Food good. Location good. Service good. BUT, the hidden charges REALLY ruined an otherwise nice experience. Example: HH menu lists Martinis as a $3 upcharge to the $7 base charge. Fair enough. Bombay is a listed alcohol; requested. When the bill was returned I was charged for a Bombay Sapphire which is not on the HH list. Charge? $11 $3. I asked for Bombay, not Bombay Sapphire. Waiter: Oh, let me look into that. AND, by the way Blue Cheese olives? Extra $1. REALLY? I 've NEVER paid extra for BC olives ANYWHERE. AND the confusing menus that a dish as including an extra sauce, [and I don 't recall the exact language but it made it seem that an additional items could be selected as well. Oops, there goes an extra $10.95. AND, the waiter recommending a twice-baked potato. Bah, boom, another $5.95. [which in fairness is disclosed on the menu in a different location, but waiter made it sound as if it was a no-charge option on the surf and turf. AND the split plate charge which I don 't think was disclosed on the menu. Ding, ding, extra $3.00. Was this a waiter, who was overly up-selling or restaurant deception? Don 't know. As I said, the food WAS good. AND, the ambience [at least in the bar area, stay away of the hotel-ballroom-like main dining area was nice. Just beware the nickel and dime charges that the waiter won 't be disclosing to you."
