Quiet restaurant in the heart of Bath. Great service. I had the Fish Chips; amazing! Especially the fish. My wife ordered Haddock with coleslaw. The slaw was very good, the Haddock lacked flavor... could've used a bit more seasoning. Would definitelyreturn.

Celebrated my husband's birthday with our best friends. Very nice, relaxing time. Food was awesome. Missed having bread as we were told they didn't have any ready but our food was very very good. Service was wonderful as well. I recommend this restaurant very highly.

The prime rib my partner ordered was cooked to well done instead of rare and arrived late. The seafood was spoiled and made me feel unwell. The service was sluggish, and the staff seemed indifferent. We had a wonderful dinner for Mother's Day. The warm and friendly server made our experience really pleasant. The main courses were well-prepared and served hot. However, the baked potatoes were disappointing; they were old, barely warm, and lacked their usual fluffiness. It's a shame because I really enjoy a hot Maine baked potato. Thank you—we will definitely be back!

J.R. Maxwell Co. : ?Famous French onion soup.? I have been going to restaurants and ordering French onion soup whenever I could, but never rated them online. The ?famous? French onion soup is one of the best I have ever had. A nice amount of sweetsoft onions that you got with every scoop. The cheese was a perfect blend of cheese, stringy but not to stringy to the pointwhere it all comes of, and soft soaked bread at the bottom. All together, the flavors blended together marvelously. A Frenchonion soup worthy of fame.

The food was absolutely fantastic! The fried shrimp and fries, as well as the fried scallops with fries, were unbelievably delicious. The batter was just right, and the flavors enhanced every dish. My 5-year-old had the tea burger, and I have to say, it was an exceptional burger. The meat was juicy and cooked to perfection! Great job, chef, because the food truly hit the spot. Visit Bath for its stunning scenery and stay for the incredible food! We enjoyed the best meal of our trip at Maxwell. I was on the hunt for clam chowder, and this didn’t disappoint—creamy, smooth, and packed with delicious chunks. I had the squid in Amaretto lobster cream sauce, which featured generous pieces of lobster meat in a fresh and fantastic sauce. Kid #1 raved about the best Reuben he's ever had, while Kid #2 polished off his entire plate of fish and chips. Coming from Rochester, NY, we know our fish fries, so that’s really saying something! This is one of the busiest restaurants in the evening in the bathtub. (Most of them sleep very early. There is a good reason for this because the food is very good and the service is friendly. Her self announced 'famous ' French onion soup was good, that only expects too much cheese up for me. The filled lobster was expensive at $59, but delicious, although there is no crab stuff to find as advertised. After saying that the scallops were stuffed inside were very, very good! We also enjoyed a baked Schellgericht, which was delicious. My wife ordered the fried seafood platter, and given that we live near the ocean, we often order fried seafood. Unfortunately, this dish fell short. Having both worked in restaurants, we recognized that the frying oil had likely been overused. While the seafood itself was not poorly cooked, the excessive fry left it dark brown and gave it an unappetizing taste. Lastly, an unfortunate incident occurred when my father-in-law had his salad appetizer taken away mid-bite as the staff was clearing dishes to serve the entrees.
