"Question? Why do New Yorkers get so twisted when it comes to pizza? Who has the best? What neighborhood? Greenpoint? Bushwick? Williamsburg?Seriously, it 's just bread, cheese, sauce and olive oil? Right? What 's the big deal?Answer: for us New Yorkers, especially Brooklynites as myself, IT IS A BIG DEAL!!!!!!Thus, when I 'm in a cheating mood no ordinary slice will do. That is why I travel to specific Brooklyn pizza places to find a really great slice. One night I was on Google and the top ten here we go, according to pizza enthusiasts) pizza places in Brooklyn popped up. As I scrolled to find a place I have not dined at, Joe and Sal 's caught my attention. I was surprised I hadn 't dined there due to Eastern Parkway being a home away from home. The article stated the Sicilian slice was THE slice to get. Mind you J and S offer burrata, deep dish, nonna and more as far as Sicilian slice options. So here I am in this cool pizza joint with Michael Jackson staring at me from the poster hung in the back as I order my Sicilian. After a five minute wait, warmed up and asked if I want olive oil drizzled on the slice I passed), I stared at my massive slice. Wow! It 's love at first sight. But how does it taste, you ask?In the words of Michael Jackson, Don 't stop til you get enough fantastic! You know that first bite: the synchronicity of bread to cheese to sauce.. it 's the ultimate bite and it was yummy. The crust is hard and dense, the cheese and sauce melts in your mouth and just the right amount of sauce. I ate every bite. How does Joe and Sal 's formerly Nino 's) compare to the others? Let 's just say it 's up there with Paulie Gees, L and B Spumoni, Forninos and yes Robertas.Meaning, THAT GREAT!I dare you to look and my picture of the Sicilian and not salivate!Joe and Sal 's location is 862,Franklin Avenue, take 4 or 5 train to Franklin Avenue/ Medgar Evers College stop and exit from Eastern Parkway Southeast which leaves you half a block away."

I had the best pizza of my life at this clean establishment in NYC. The staff were respectful and kind, and I absolutely loved my experience. I highly recommend this place to everyone. They also have delicious vegetarian pizza options available. View menu

Pizzas so yummy--freshly made and piping hot on brown paper plates. The crust is thin and chewy. So good! The kind of place that brings nostalgia when I'm decrepit. My favourite was the spicy eggplant. Not much seating. Walls are entertaining while you wait for your piping hot slices.Food: 5/5

Straight banger all throughout.Their Artichoke Arugula slice is top notch.A cut above any neighboring pizzeriasThe owner speaks Italian to Italian visitors, which is always a good sign! But they are not Neapolitan style. Straight NY style but with higher standard of the ingredient and craftmanship

I ordered a large order for my Kindergarten students for our culture fair. We had caprese salad, assorted pizzas, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, cannoli's, and tiramisu. Everything was better than the next. The kids loved it and had seconds! Pasta all over their faces. I have never seen them eat so well. The adults were in heaven too. Sal and Joe’s really went above and beyond to accommodate, deliver, and provide excellent service and communication for us. Thank you so much. Highly recommend them for all your personal and business food needs. Grazie!Kid-friendliness: The food is very child friendly, all of my Kindergartners tried various items, besides pizza, and loved it. The spaghetti a...

"When we called to reserve a table, no one informed us that there was a dining time limit of 1.5 hours. My friend wanted to invite more people to join us for dinner, but I was unsure if everyone would agree to the minimum charge of $60, including taxes and tips. I confirmed a reservation for 7 people during my second call, but ultimately, only 6 of us showed up. The table we were given was quite small, making it uncomfortable for six people, especially with the mandatory minimum spending of $60, as well as a 20% tip. For just two people, the minimum tip is 18%. I was confused about the dining time limit—was it two hours or 1.5? The party area was limited to just the backyard for additional seating. I was with friends who didn’t know the group well, and we arrived early at 3 PM, but we couldn’t wait until 6:30 PM. That’s why we ended up sitting at a separate table for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn’t seem to care and couldn’t arrange for us to be seated closer together. We had no choice in the matter. To make matters worse, the female waiter had a poor attitude. It felt like we were dining in a sidewalk market. She questioned another girl who served me ponzu sauce, apparently because I looked impatient when I saw her face. Her attitude only worsened after that. It seems like they need to train their employees better, as they seem unaware of how to provide good service. As for the food, it was just okay, typical of basic Japanese cuisine. There were too many restrictions! Customers are forced to adhere to the restaurant’s rules and limitations. I cannot recommend this place unless someone is specifically looking for a fast-food experience. In short, I don’t think I’ll be returning next time."
