"I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I have to say I was very disappointed in my dining experience at Adarra. It’s difficult to get a reservation there, so once I was able to, I had extremely high expectations. The drinks were excellent, so no complaints there. The food, however, was not. We ordered the toasted almonds, peppers, cheese plate, tuna belly, anchovy dish, tomato salad, and gnocchi. The almonds and peppers were good, although I have to say they were on the simpler side. The tuna belly made me think I was eating quality tuna from a can soaked in olive oil. That’s the best way I can describe it. It was a bit tough and on the dry side, and I didn’t finish it. I don’t usually eat anchovies since I’m not a fan of the typical fishy taste, but was assured that their version wasn’t fishy at all the way they prepare it. I ate a piece or two but couldn’t finish it. Soaking the anchovies in olive oil did not hide the fishy taste. Some people may like that fishy taste, but I definitely didn’t. The cheese plate was okay. The crackers weren’t anything special, and the amount of cheese was pretty minuscule. The tomato salad was actually the only thing I ordered that was delicious, and the only thing we actually finished. After being at the restaurant for almost two hours, the gnocchi had still not come out. We told our waitress we didn’t want it and decided to leave. I heard so many great things about Adarra and had such high hopes. But after such a disappointing meal that we paid over $200 for, we will not be returning."

"Good, but not perfect. Strong food, especially when sticking to the chop house basics like crab cakes, steaks, etc. Things can begin to go off the rails when the kitchen wants to be more creative. While one applauds them for trying to stretch their wings, it really would be better for them to stick with what they know--classic seafood and chop house fare. Environment is nice and classy without being overbearing and stuffy. It is never too noisy. Service can be a little uneven and unpolished for this price point. You would expect a little more personal touch and polished professionalism for these prices. Prices are what you would expect at the Philly original, not provincial Richmond....read more"

"Good tacos and great service. Music was a bit loud, especially when trying to have a conversation with friends. They played some sports games on the TVs which was nice when sitting at the bar. "This is hands down the best sushi I have ever had! Started our meal with pork gyoza, again the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked and comes with a delicious ponzu dipping sauce. For my sushi rolls I got Superman roll and the Lucky AF roll. Both were so delicious but Superman was my favorite, probably due to the cream cheese addition! One thing to call out is both of these rolls are large and you're definitely getting your moneys worth. I went on a Friday night during the busiest time and was quoted a 45 minute wait, however they ended up seating us in only 15 minutes! Service was amazing. Our waitress was kind and attentive! 100% will be back next time I'm in the Richmond area!"

"We had the the most amazing and enjoyable experience last night! The food and service were out of this world! The menu truly has something for everyone, without being too long. Every dish was prepared impeccably and we thoroughly relished every bite. We ordered an embarrasing amount of food, and loved it all, but a few favorites were the carpaccio (beef as well as the tuna special), the antipasto (we were all shocked by how delicious the grilled and marinated zucchini was, it the best any of us have ever had and is craveable) the halibut special with the champagne grapes, the perfectly light spinach ravioli (that looks like it should be heavy but isn't), the filet mignon, the quail and the tiramisu. I really wish I remembered our server's name (I am one of those people who is TERRIBLE with names), but I do remember how friendly and fantastic he was! So whoever served the 3 ladies last night who ordered WAY too much food, were a little too loud, and who definitely stayed too long at your fine establishment, THANK YOU! It was truly a perfect night!"
