"I used to come to this restaurant with confidence that the food would be consistently good. However, in recent visits, the quality has severely declined. My mother and I typically order the same items, but they have been lacking in quality lately. The California rolls were poorly made with barely any rice on the sides. One time they even forgot the avocado and substituted seaweed with soy paper, charging us extra for the mistake. We were extremely disappointed when we found a plastic lid in our ramen, and although the owner promised to comp the dish, we were only given a 20% discount after it was replaced. All of these issues occurred during one visit, leading us to decide to find another place to dine. While the wait staff is excellent and efficient, the management and food quality control are lacking. This restaurant used to be great, but it seems they have fallen short. I would not recommend this place for Japanese cuisine unless they improve their standards or hire better chefs."

I absolutely loved the sushi at this restaurant! I tried the Jays special roll and the waiter recommended the Fried Soft Shell crab, which was absolutely delicious. I would give the food a perfect 5 out of 5 rating.

Great food and service.I highly recommend coming here during happy hour (3-5pm and 8-closing). The prices are fabulous and the sushi rolls are pretty darn good. Some sushi and some sake is a perfect way of ending a long day of work.

All the sushi’s were great, all of them, the scolar, such a buttery texture, but the best of the best was the seared garlic tuna. The shrimp spring rolls, very enjoyable, super crispy, delicious. Will be coming back for more.Food: 5/5 View menu

This is my new favorite sushi restaurant. I remember when this place used to be HiHo burgers. I was impressed with the quality of the fish. The Sake and someone else paying for the meal also made the experience even better. I highly recommend giving it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Americanized sushi.Limited fish options for Nigiris and sashamiMenu is long and confusing!From Nigiris, salmon, yellow tail and seared Tuna belly and Salmon belly was great!Tuna was a meh, albacore was a no go!Miso was delicious!For 10 piece of nigiri and a miso for 34 bucks was pretty good!

I think this is my favorite place to eat out regularly. I come here at least twice a week for happy hour and get 3 rolls with a side of spicy mayo and eel sauce. They recognize me and bring me my order faster out of love, I'm sure of it. It's beautiful when you can find a spot to love.Food: 5/5 View menu

We LOVED this place! Cute little sushi bar with great food, generous portions! and great prices! (We were surprised how big the rolls were and ended up with a ton of leftovers! We went for happy hour for my little brothers birthday and they made us feel special. We’ll come back anytime we’re in Ventura!Food: 5/5

We love the sushi at Kibo. Mali is amazing and has created an array of gluten-free deliciousness that blows away anything anyone else has to offer. The GF garlic edamame has just the right amount of kick making it my new obsession, and the Where 's Waldo roll is excellent. We sat outside in the enclosure with the heat lamps and our dog who had tempura shrimp . When I asked her how many stars, she said all of them. She can 't count, but she 's a very smart dog.
